Rolling back to video games for a video to talk about Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. We've waited a long time for this one, so does it live up to the hype? #spacemarine2 #review #warhammer40k BGM is licensed via Envato Elements.
The original had the additional problem in having to exist in the shadow of 'Gears of War', at a time when that was still synonymous with the concept of being a 'space marine'.
I think as well there was certainly a feeling of fatigue surrounding ‘Gears like’ games. The market was so saturated. Luckily the original Space Marine was a stand out experience.
Tbh Space Marine 2 lives up to the OG space marine, it does what it set out to do at the bare minimum. Also I LOVED the way the first mission was set up, was a nice lil lore addition. (not specifying for the sake of spoilers)
Recently found your channel looking into Trench Crusade, but haven't seen any of your other content (yet). Love hearing your very blunt and straight forward approach to your review and looking forward to looking at more of your content. Been looking forward to this game but been trying to keep the hype under control for myself since its been mostly just advertisements and sponsored early access reviews so far. But as the release is getting closer and more creators are able to release their reviews and experiences, this is looking like a great game!
Top tier intro mate, brilliant point about the negativity present in fandom. I played the original all those years ago as a recovering former teen 40k acolyte (I reckon I was in my twenties). I played the game on my 360 between uni semesters and as a former Fire Warrior player I just mind being like ‘Fucking hell, they did it! They nailed it!’. Multiplayer was a bit lacklustre - especially the forced Gears of War competitive mode. Don’t reckon the new one will play on my work/CKII laptop but I’ll be sure to check this out once I get a new rig. Love the inclusion of the Guard in all their glory.
I've never played either of these games but I am a die-hard 40K fan I have been playing tabletop since rouge trader, and this looks like what being a space Marine should feel like! On the tabletop, playing space marines feel like they have aimbot, running full speed and still getting headshots, is there any assistance to aiming, and is it adjustable?
@@callmegrandpoggers I honestly was getting annoyed with all the folks bitching about "female custodies" when I'm just like: bro i don't care lemme enjoy the lore in peace. Could they have done female custodes better? Yes they could have, does it justify all the bitching and winging? no.
I didn't know it was already out! Think you covered everything without spoilers and was a very balanced review. Think I am going to enjoy the stuffing out of this when I pick it up. Glad you touched on the mechanics of the game, as was a little worried about that. As for the graphics, that was never in doubt, but also good to know framerate wise. Especially seeing seas of hormagaunts washing over the landscape and piling over themselves like weaver ants pulling themselves up high surfaces like walls. Visually STUNNING. Definitely going to partake in a lil Space Marine 2!
lol, it is on the way, but time in that has been pinched because things Space Marine 2, Outlaws, and Monkey Stick Simulator have made my day job very busy right now! Will hopefully be soon, though!
Voicing a negative opinion about something you love is a sign of love. Fans are not cry babies, they are a company/RU-vidrs source of income. You and developers should remember that.
I never said fans were crybabies, I said that crybabies are crybabies, and I specifically mentioned people who spend most of their time talking about things they dislike, not things they do like. You seem to really struggle with understanding simple words and sentences. You can add yourself to pile of the dipshits who seek offence over nothing, I guess. Even breaking out the subtle "we are your income" line. You ain't my income, dickhead, so fuck off. lol
@@scannerbarkly Correct I like it enough to criticize. My intentions where to possibly say it may be beneficial to respect your audience. Working out great.
