Looking at the anatomy of the scapula. It has a bunch of lumpy bits that always end up being important.

I wish this guy was my anatomy professor! Excellent at teaching! This helped me tremendously in retaining the information. I don't learn much from my AP professor right now. :/ But he did make one mistake and called the coracoid process the acromion when introducing the suprascapular notch! lol

I recently had 2/3 of my right scapula removed due to a rare tumor and it was weird having to relearn how to move my arm, drive and pick things up. Never knew how much it was used on a daily basis along with all the muscles until it all healed.

Thank you. The doctor said I had frozen shoulder , but it looks like I have Frozen scapula. I cannot move my arm above my shoulder and I can't scratch the back of my head. The Frozen scapula is causing the acromion to smash into the clavicle and causing bone spurs in the AC joint. What can I do to get the scapula to move again in the upward Direction? What exercise do I need to do? I think the scapula has popped out of its location from a injury. I have winged shoulder. I get more movement on my arm if I push the scapula in, by pressing my back against the wall. I've seen a couple videos from the UK, where a guy put his right hand at a person shoulder and his left hand on the scapula and popped it back in place by pushing his two hands together. It actually caused a pop or crack like a chiropractor cracking your joints, when he did it? That's what I'd like to have done but the doctor will not do it and neither will my chiropractor. I hate to pay some guy in the bar to do it , but I can't do it myself. Many people ask on the internet, the same question, can you dislocate your scapula? It seems like there must be sinew or ligaments holding the scapula in place and it can be popped out of place. But every time you mention this to a doctor, they look like at you as if you're crazy. They claim it's only held in place by muscle. I disagree. What's your opinion?

I think it would be worthwhile to define the scapular axis. It took me almost an hour to hunt this down. Here is the most rigorous definition of the scapular axis: "ISB recommendation on definitions of joint coordinate systems of various joints for the reporting of human joint motion--Part II: shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand", J Biomech. 2005 May

@Sam Webster .... I have been watching your videos with great interest as I'm an ex time triallist / MTBer / Cyclo-cross rider who has had a few accidents in the past, and currently have huge issues with my shoulders and my neck. I'm currently (over the last 4yrs) having multiple issues with neck / head and thorax. I have swallowing / regurgitation and pain issues which have baffled the Drs / consultants. I have asked about possible links between my shoulder pain issues and Phrenic / Vagus nerve involvement, but I've been told that it's not likely. Do you think they are right to dismiss it ? PS: I also have a failed Nissen Fundoplication which is also making a definitive diagnosis more unlikely.
