I don’t play melee myself but I’ve been watching it and caring an unhealthy amount about it since 2016 or something. It’s a phenomenon that defies expectations time and time again. Melee is forever.

I started playing melee like 2 months ago and it has already given me a lot. Thanks scar Toph Slime and everyone who carried this game to where it is today
This isn't even an exaggeration either. Scars been in the scene forever, he was TOing and supporting melee long before he was a commentator. But the biggest thing he's done is putting his entire soul to getting melee back at Evo in 2013 which brought a whole new generation of players to the scene. Love melee. Love scar
I think Captain Falcon, Marth and Falco are probably the best starting points. Or Puff if you wanna focus on floaties A lot of what you'll learn with them can easily carry over to other characters if you eventually switch Just enjoy and have a good time. I suggest getting other new people into the game for good practice partners. The guys on unranked are so cracked that it can take a long while before you're consistantly taking games. Don't let this discourage you tho Since the game has such a great online experience and plenty of guides on youtube/discord, it's never been easier and faster to get good at it
Could you imagine mang0s kid is some mew2king type computer player and mew2king builds a robot that plays more intuitively and unpredictably than mang0.
I just.. It’s a great game, but the character cast being so tiny is what I can’t get over. I’m one of the ones who moved on every time a new smash game came out. Truthfully, I hardly play anymore anyways. Can hardly find the time as a married father. I watch more than I play now, but it’s really cool to see Smash sticking around in a pretty big way in _numerous_ forms.
Funny how things turnout. The game isn’t doing too hot views wise and people are still not respecting it outside of smash since 2016 really. If anything the FGC respects the community even less then they do now. Why? Cause of people in the community who are overly obsessed with this game, who compare it to more technical fighting games like KOF and the shitty people in the community who got exposed in 2020. Hopefully ultimate and P+ Carries the torch for competitive smash, but this game will be on its way out. Just gotta get rid community members like this at this point because these old headass people are gonna keep the game here until they die for some reason.
Firstly, you don’t have to play something to enjoy watching it, btw. Secondly, you don’t have to look very far to understand the issues that a bloated cast can have on a metagame. Thirdly, yeah, melee is hd and online, more so, the online is actually legitimately better and much less laggy. Fourthly, I guess you’re entitled to feeling like melee is annoying to play, that’s fair, but it really does just feel like you’re here to poopoo on melee, and idk what you’re trying to get out of that.
80 characters, being HD, and having online doesn't make something a good game. Being a good game makes it a good game. Quality over quantity. And the online for Ultimate is garbage, which is annoying to play, so I don't know why you even brought that up.
