You don’t have enough people listening to you, dude. You popped up for me on that bass dude’s short and I had to come looking. You have a beautiful voice! Please don’t ever stop singing.
Thank you for including the captions, showing the other lines interspersed between the main ones: lines like "washes the grave with silvery tears," "a soldier cleans and polishes a gun," "war bellows blazing in scarlet battalions," "generals order their soldiers to kill," "and to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten." All of which leads me to believe: It's NOT a song about unrequited love. It's the voice of a dying soldier, telling another soldier to find the girl he left behind. The "impossible tasks" represent the life they can no longer have, and the ways he wants her to honor his memory. S&G's version, being released at the height of the Vietnam War, became a subliminal song of protest, because not everybody could hear ALL of the words.
Wow, beautifully put and as otherworldly as this even more angelic version of the song. Few people could bring more to the original by S&G but you too like this Gentleman have enhanced every aspect of it. Thank You.
Thank you. I was thinking he was a ghost asking the person going to the fair to look up his love and let her know of his death in the war. But dying soldier seems more likely.
@Anonymous-km5pj Erm, look at his chin! Castrati never went through puberty: this fellow clearly has. So no, he's not Castries, just very well trained vocally.
Contralto is a women's fach. This man is an excellent counter tenor, which means he is also likely an excellent tenor as well. He has glorious control over his voice.
His voice has such range and clarity, I'd love to hear him sing this acapella without all the enhancements. He doesn't need them, in fact they spoil the experience.
I listen to this every day. Every time it brings tears to my eyes. Vinny, thank you for coming into this world to bring such joy to us with your beautiful voice.
Countertenor...I've not heard of that classification. Tell me more. He isn't in falsetto. Sounds very natural for him. Not a register we often hear from a man. I wonder what register he speaks in.
@@PleaseNThankYouI believe that the term countertenor is from opera. It can be a falsetto in modern music terminology but is also a true " head voice" that as been trained in that range. I have not heard this gentleman before - I'll have to look him up. I took 10+ yrs of vocal training while in my 50s to regain my speech after a traumatic brain injury. My teacher was in her 70s and had never tried using singing therapy, but I was a retired science teacher and brain tumor survivor. It took us several years but I fully regained my speech.
@monicaluketich6913 An enormous feat of human willpower! I was a paramedic for 25 years and had a friend, debilitated by a stroke, and was never able to recover much physically but regained his speech enough to communicate. It's all a miracle to me. Congratulations on your recovery and ongoing endeavors! I looked up the vocal ranges and saw that it was as you described it. The young man singing is part of an acapella group, and when his video popped up, I recognized him. I think of Frankie Valli of The Four Seasons, when I think of a "falsetto." This man doesn't seem to be using his vocal cords in the same way. Amazing upper range for a man. Well, I've learned a bit of new stuff that I will still never be able to use. It doesn't matter how hard I try. My voice cracks a few notes in either direction. It was actually the song title that made me click on the video. A favorite. Scarborough Fair.
@gigiquillian4776 Even if your voice cracks, like mine does now at 68 and not singing on a regular basis, it is still fun to sing/ hum to yourself. It will strengthen your vocal cords. Yes, I, too, associate falsetto will Frankie Valli, but this man is what you get with operatic training instead of singing on the street corner! Amazing, isn't it? I love all those songs I grew up. Best of luck to you, and continue to listen to music. I think of music as emotions made audio able.
Ooh, so this is what it feels like to discover a world-class talent before they make it big. I look forward to your inevitable music video with 1M+ views.
@@IamAlohaSo, those words are from the "Canticle" part of Simon and Garfunkel's version (Scarborough Fair & Canticle) - but not all of the lyrics are in this version. (Which I personally missed, being a fan of the original, and you lose the story being told when so few of the words are there.) I have a sheet music version that has all the words, which are as follows: "On the side of a hill in the deep forest green, Tracing of Sparrow on snow-crested brown, Blankets and bedclothes the child of the mountain, Sleeps unaware of the clarion call. On the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves, Washes the grave with silvery tears, A soldier cleans and polishes a gun. War bellows blazing in scarlet battalion, Generals order their soldiers to kill, And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten. Considering the time period Paul Simon was writing in, I've always assumed it was a bit of a protest about the Vietnam war, but really, it describes any wartime period. Scarborough Fair is an OLD song, but the Canticle is entirely Paul's creation, as I understand it. It's worth listening to the original once you know the Canticle lyrics, because some of them are kind of hard to make out if you don't know what's being said. Hope that helps!
@@kateshiningdeer3334I'm also in like with Cantjcle, it's the harmony. Are you familiar with Find the Cost of Freedom by Crosby, Stills and Nash? They did a little tweaking and released that version on the album Daylight Again. Very nice . ✌️💖😸
I am SO JEALOUS of guys' ability to sing falsetto. Especially when they sound as heavenly as this. 🥰 Edit: Thank you for the intelligent/informative responses. I was speaking more of guys and falsetto in general, but I'm glad to have learned about counter tenor and whatnot. Being a woman (relevant to vocal range), and not a music instructor, these lessons never crossed my path. I was also not aware of the difference between "jealous" and "envious", having used them interchangeably (like most Americans) my entire life.
But there is a little digital assistance, I believe it is called autotune. Personally, assistance or not. it's the product that is created and delivered in a most heavenly, divine way, yes, angelic indeed. That is a best use of technology, just as we receive it through our screens straight to the soul.
Prediction. Give it a year or two and you are going to be one of the most famous singers in the world. You will be appreciated on a global scale like the world has never seen ❤️
What about appearing on AGT to change your life in about four minutes? A golden buzzer rendition might be within reach. Best of luck ... the stage should be yours Kudos from Hamburg
He has a gorgeous voice!! You should also check out Dimash…his range is just insane honestly. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W29zEuZVaxs.htmlsi=VWY7I5N_N2NdZasU Good place to start 👍🏻☺️
Good comment - a counter-tenor's voice is in a category all of its own, and listening to it with awareness, it should always be clear that it's a male voice. (A counter-tenor is not singing falsetto.)
I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I think you may be the best countertenor I've ever heard. Many CTs are really falsettists but this sounds like the real deal. Would love to hear your Pur ti Miro
My friend before tonight I never knew of your videos. I've lived in Middle Earth for fifty years, so after listening to both Pippin's song and Far Over The Misty Mountains...I became an instant fan !! Thank you and with your voice , what a blessing you have been given..
That was very angelic! I love the way you did the back vocals with the words captioned under it. I always struggled to understand the back words on this ancient song. Thank you it was lovely! :-)
@@Grammichal The back words were added by Paul Simon, but the main verses originate in the 17 century, though personally I believe it's roots are in the middle ages as there's a hidden message in it for that unattainable woman, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, all had meaning back then. You should read about it, it's lovely.
Oh, I would so buy that. I got goosebumps and cold chills, just listening to it. I’ve never heard a male sing with such a high voice, could pass as a female voice. And every word every syllable was amazingly clear.
This just came up by surprise as I was listening to something else completely but paused that to do something and when I returned to utube, . this appeared instead and the sweet synchronicity is that II am in Scarborough now, visiting for a few days! Incredibly Beautiful voice, such a gift to hear this in beautiful Yorkshire and Scarborough’s magical North Bay 🐠 🌊 🏰
@@karenjewitt6639 Yesterday I was looking at images of the Scarborough vaults.I was interested because I had dreamt of the place not knowing it was a real place.I probably went there as a child but I have no way of verifying .It also just popped up on my feed.
What a beautiful voice. I literally feel like he is standing and singing in the middle of an enormous, empty cathedral. I can see the image so clearly it feels real. So beautiful and amazing.
This is one of my favorite songs and the way you sing it is Out of this World!! Practically brought me to tears. Your voice is beyond incredible! This video has made my day, thank you.
I never thought I’d find a version of this song that I like better than Simon & Garfunkel’s, but this is it. You’re incredibly talented. Edit: I never thought that I’d have so many likes on my comment. Thanks everyone! And thank you for helping me learn of other beautiful versions of this song. There are so many. It’s amazing how this song has such universal appeal to almost everyone.
Listen to the Korean singer group "Forestella" for this song....I am shure you will like it too. Unfortunately the group Forestella is not existing anymore because their contract ended and the decided not to go on.
OH my goodness, I was 'surfing' on RU-vid and ran across your Ave Maria. It brought me to tears it was so beautiful! So I had to come to your page. Such a absolutely magnificent voice! And I love the arrangements of your harmonizing with yourself! I just had to say how talented you are! I hope to hear much, much more from you.
Nature’s gentle beauty is voluptuously sorrowful like high mountain morning air. To breathe is to drink of her love. A great perfection is Scarborough Fair.
OMG! I've had a card reading 4 this week, which went like this: "listen 2 the music that heals your soul. Genre doesn't matter, but u will know as It will sound so heavenly that it'd make u ecstatic. And rest assured u will find such music this week. " And I did!! You just popped up and I couldn't keep my eyes (ears?) off. Please keep singing and make people happy♡
This was amazing and hauntingly beautiful. It sounds from the time it was written ( believed to be medieval) and I could imagine scarborough fair and people taking their wares to sell or buy. More people should hear you.
I agree!Apparently, the Scarborough Fair,in Yorkshire, the song written about, started in 1253, and the last one was held in 1788,with people coming from all over, even internationally!
I can't get enough of your voice! I have never ever heard anything like this before! Just breathtaking! Your choice of songs, your way of singing. Oh my God, you have to become popular like now! Thank you for singing, never stop doing this. P.S. I need your album ASAP!
I love the pitch of your voice. I have seen girls with a deep pitch. When you speak you are just a normal guy. When you use your voice to be on point and in high octaves- you are amazing 😍🤩❤❤!
In searching for something else, I saw your suggestion on screen. The title song is one of my longtime faves. I had to give this a listen. Your voice is HOT! (Meaning this respectfully) Your talent blows me away. I love it. Don’t ever stop sharing the joy your God-given gift does spread.
