Anyone who saw the movie "the graduate " (1967) remembers this song. It was a great time to be young and this wonderful music was a massive part of it. Why can,t music today be as poetic and thoughtful as this. You have an exguisite taste in music young lady, all the great stuff I grew up on. I like your song choices. Loved that EMILY the best version I have heard with lovely folk song intonation. My ideas is that the song reflects unrequited love, a young man delegates a number of impossible tasks to his lover who would have to finish them to come back to him. I think the lady does the same. There are counter melodies anti war. A unique song beautifully sung by Emily that dates from the middle ages.

Hi Emily, very good song choice. A treat for the ears and the eyes. I love the bright sound coming from your Kona Taylor guitar. I think Taylor Swift used to play it back in the day. The song brought out your higher vocal range and false falsetto. Women cannot sing a true falsetto such as how Frankie Vallie sings. Thus the term false falsetto. Your make up and hair are perfect. You remind me of an Irish lass singing that song. You simply get prettier and prettier everyday. Simon & Garfunkel would be proud of what you have done.

She is a post modern 21st century girl, who connects wonderfully with the spirits of the artists of the 60'and 70's, which was a generation of great change. A generation that had stories to tell in their folk songs, which were often full of pathos. A divine ethereal voice and sensitive instrumental playing that transports us to another plane ( this word used in this context as level of existence, thought and development : a spiritual state of being) . The world is lucky to have Emily and I hope and she and her music are around being enjoyed for decades to come.

I listen to this song Emily sings nearly every night for a night cap...I've got it playing on my cell phone and my desktop computer so get it twice almost simultaneously. Sometimes I will suddenly wake up when Emily has switched songs and realize hours have gone by....I am definitely hooked.

I learned this traditional English folk song in school in the 1940s or '50s in England. I'm not sure if it was in primary or secondary school. This folk song obviously comes from Yorkshire, where Scarborough is located. Simon and Garfunkle made it famous outside of the folk song community. As always, much of their work is enhanced by their perfect harmonies. Emily's rendition is truly beautiful.

I really hope everyone seeing this appreciates how hard it is to play this guitar piece. And then learn to play it like second nature, and make it so “automatic”as to be able to sing over it at the same time as playing. And to teach yourself to sing like that. This is real, serious skill. Yes there might be a good few people who can do this. But they are all, to a person, incredibly skilled. They have put a huge amount of work in, to be able to do this to any degree at all TBH. And this just sounds amazing.
