Our decision to become tent nomads living within the forest is starting to sink in. Crossing the Mackinaw Bridge into Michigan's Upper Peninsula, we were faced with fears. Hitting us for the first time since we decided to sell our house, suddenly things got real.
There is no turning back. The forest is our home for the foreseeable future. Are we ready for this? Are we able to overcome the fear of our decision? What does the forest have in store for us?

A purposeful journey into the unknown, powered by our hearts, and rediscovering our oneness with all living things. Setting out on a series of extended physical challenges around Turtle Island (North America) to awaken our spirits to the human experience and give back to indigenous causes. From this place, we can heal, embody a new way of being and carve the way for a new earth.

Greetings from a fellow nomad/ pioneer rv living in the Nevada desert! Congratulations and best of luck on your journey! Currently we are full-time. In January of 2018, the wife and I with our 3 big dogs left our house and State home to live full-time nomad and work in another State. We had a month to prepare for this journey. It was different, scary, and exciting at the same time. However, most of our journey we have been comforted by nature. Now, nature and the unknown is a second nature to us. Keep living, keep exploring, and keep making memories. Happy trails to you all!

Y'all should explore minimalism and capsule wardrobes. It's really helped my family. I can fit all my personal possessions into a bookbag. It would make yalls packing and unpacking easier. Also you may really like a youtuber named Rob Greenfield. He has been a huge inspiration for me.

Hello from Wisconsin! I share your feelings about the forest. I discovered the forest years ago after my kids were grown and on their own. It's just how it happened. I started camping, hiking, biking, XC skiing. What a free feeling! I've been camping now for 30 years, always enjoying it. I own my home and don't think I'd go full time tenting or RVing, just because the years are upon me. You mentioned having fear of the forest...was it bears and other wildlife that you were fearful of? I know you now aren't fearful and are very comfortable in the forest. Your little boy seems to like it too. What kid doesn't enjoy being outdoors! Take care and enjoy.

79 years young is probably the new 59 years young in this time and age we live...go for it! I love outdoors and I'll be doing it at 100 years old so long as I have the breathe of life and strength in me. We are still here in the land of the living...let us live. For when we die, no longer we do the things a living being do...camping, walking, smelling flowers and plants, etc. Take it, now is the time. Happy trails to you.

Michigan sure is a beautiful place...but a healthy acknowledging of your surroundings (incl. bears etc...) is always a good idea, while continuing to move forward. QUESTION: Do u care bear spray? While it's unlikely u will ever see one, it's still possible, and bear spray would come in handy. Stay safe and have a blessed day. LUCRETIA

Michigan's Upper Penisula is beautiful. Love being along the shores of Lake Superior. Yes, we have bear spray just in case :)

Have you guys though about taking out only what you need and leave the other Bins in the vehicle. Maybe you can have all the clothing in 1 bins for a couple of nights and a bins for cooking. Therefore when it’s time to pack up…most of the bins are already in the car.

Sleeping in a fossil fuel tent, driving a fossil fuel vehicle on a fossil fuel-produced road, using electronics that would not be possible otherwise...and then complaining. TRUTH :)

You have chosen to live a beautiful life amongst nature. Where we should all be. I am 65, live in the UK, and decided last December 2021, to live the life I had always dreamed of. Off grid, travelling around our beautiful country, in my motorhome. For as long as I am able. We have cold weather here and my first trip was to beautiful North Wales in December, the week before Christmas. I was glad of the heat my motorhome gave me. Can I ask what made you decide to choose camping rather than a motorhome. I'm sure you get much colder weather where you are. Much love and happy times getting back to just being in the moment. 🤗💗🙏

Originally we had the idea of getting an AirStream and renovating it. We didn't have a budget for something like that so we chose the tent. Didn't want to put our life on hold! The tent has been so good! Feeling incredibly connected to our surroundings. Upgraded to a 4 season tent and a woodstove to make it through the winter. Videos to come! Where did you go for the winter? I live in Michigan and we camp everywhere..winter would be very rough here. Good luck with your travels. Give you a lot of credit tent camping. Not easy. We have a small camper now. We still tent camp at times, but definitely more set up. Happy travels!

We upgraded to a four season tent with a wood stove. Setting up near Marquette. We had a ton of snow and freezing cold temps. And absolutely loved it! Winter camping videos to come. Happy travels to you as well!

Hopefully you are wearing a Personal Locator Beacon while you are running deep into the woods. Have you heard of Dave Paulides YT channel?

Hi Sunny! YES. Safety is a huge priority for us. We purchased a Garmin PLB that uses satellite. It's already saved us once (check out this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Opf0lM2c9RA.html) And when we have signal we also send a strava beacon from our phone. Had not heard of Dave Paulides, thanks for sharing 🙏🏼
