Nice to see it all again. My wife and I purchased a Ma & Pa motel in St .Ignace in 1970 and ran it 4 years then sold it. It was just past the airport in an area called Evergreen shores back then. I was 23 then, now 75.

My family and I have been to Mackinaw many throughout the years. It's so cool to recognize all the familiar places and scenery..the bridge..though with Brooke and Dave in the video. My kids loved Mackinaw! It's truly a historical great visit and seems to always take me back in time. The Great lakes of Michigan and Superior are awesome. Great job Brooke and Dave! I used to bridge fish with Brother Dan back in the 80's down in the Florida Keys in a place called Lower Matecumbe Key (channel five) That was about a 75 mi drive from the house here in Miami where we lived. The seven mile bridge was down a bit further in the Keys. Henry Flagler built the railroad that opened up Key West to the US. Later on it turned into a highway known as US1. Thanks Woods Girl, and Mr. Radical dude. Lovely bridge construction, and what a long span for a suspension bridge. Scary long. Wouldn't want to ride my bicycle across that one. Wonderful folks in that neck of the woods especially the two of you. Take care. Bless. It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw!

Awesome trip! If I did the trace trip of my 20 y.o. hood it would be little emotional but I should do that before I die. I own the Adventure 3 of Bark River recently and that's wonderful bushcrafting knife. That is the relatively hunting knife but so durable and just like my knife for camping. Thanks for your beautiful video.

Thanks for taking us along on your trip, I've been to mackinaw city a couple times, traveled that awesome bridge and bought lots of knives at Coffmans hardware store in mackinaw city, love the scenery up that way, looking forward to watching the videos of the knife factory's. I lived several years on the other side of that Lake. I've seen it freeze over twice. We were stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois at various times over the years...had friends all over there and up into Wisconsin...one of the men who served with my late husband was from over in Michigan (near where they have the Cherry Festival), we went visiting there a few times and everyone was so nice. Such a beautiful place. Gotta say though, winters are rough living on the Great Lakes, any where on any of those lakes. The cold winter weather and winds go right through you to your bones and it's not unusual to have temperatures that can give you frostbite with in a few minutes during the winters. I was young back then and it was rough on me..I'm from upstate New York and used to snow and cold weather but up there gives a whole other meaning to cold. I could never make it now at age 60 with arthritis & other issues.. I live in Southern Virginia now and it's too cold for me during the winters here!! I need to be in NM or AZ...l love CA but so many issues there any more with droughts and fires etc..Love your videos.

I was raised on Lake Michigan, but try Lake Superior when the blue ice is around. It's like a paradise. Huge mountains of blue crystal ice near the lake shore. It's just gorgeous.

My wife was scared to death of heights so I would have to drive in the inside lane to help keep her from having a panic attack. LOL! It's been a long long time since I have been there.
