SCARED Me 🐸 Lisianthus, Peppers, & Caladiums || Summer Harvest In The Texas Heat || Summer Garden 

I’m obsessed with Lisianthus! I can’t believe I was successful with growing from seed and was worth all the months of waiting! 🌺🌸

It's beautiful how the blooms are so prolific in the heat! Frogs mean your garden is super healthy and no chemicals, though they kind of spook me too. When your mic stops working, I go to closed caption and continue to watch your video, no problem. Have a terrific vacation. Alaska is still the best vacation I ever took. Amazing landscapes.

Great "REAL" human reaction video😂😂. At least it wasn't a snake 😮. Advice from a fellow "down in the dirt" gardener living in Houston - the dew points from all the moisture from all the rain and the tropical air compliments of the Gulf of Mexico, feel worse in the early morning. In combination with the humidity level the air can be saturated and makes it feel like you're inside a sauna. I've found working outdoors in the evening much more tolerable. Maybe you might want to consider a fan in your shade garden? You might have felt drained but your plants look like they're loving it. Gorgeous! I imgine your resident frogie is on guard protecting things from bugs. Happy Frog, happy plants!😂

Oh, have fun in Alaska! We went a few years back and did the land package before a cruise and stayed in the Denali National Park lodges. It’s gorgeous there! I would go again. Had the best dessert in one of the lodges. You’ve talked me into lisianthus when you said it was extremely long lasting! Must try it now. They look gorgeous. Great idea to start them in the summer and plant them in the fall to over winter. My peppers are slow this year and your peppers and eggplants look awesome! But my tomatoes and cukes went crazy. Have baskets full in my little backyard garden pots. OMG!! I would’ve had a heart attack and messed myself seeing that frog all of a sudden too! Hahaha!!! Love those caladium! And how cool is it that you have a tool to use from your great grandfather. I wish I had some of my grandmother‘s tools now.

Wow the frog 😂! A big one! I loved the caladium planter. I also harvested eggplants this morning. Tomatoes are producing. Peppers just started to produce.

Those green with pink leaves are absolutely beautiful 😍 I got some very small plants, probably not the same, that kinda looked like them from the store. I didn't do my research or anything and they were in full sun all day and they died 😕

My Costco caladiums are about 1/2 the size of yours, but I may have them in a little too much afternoon sun. I think I'll move them. We are still only in the low 80's here in my area of Maryland, so I think they'll pick up in July. I don't keep a written journal, however, my pictures sure tell me we're 1-2 weeks ahead of last year. I'm afraid I'll run out of blooming plants before the season is over.

Another great video.. I had a toad in my marigold seedling pot. Almost threw it before I realized what it was. My cousin's daughter and her family are in Alaska now for a month. Hiking and camping. Enjoy your trip. Beautiful place.

I planted caladiums a few years ago and they did well and came back a couple of years, but this year, nothing. 😟Yours look wonderful. I'm harvesting green beans and lots of cherry tomatoes in my garden at the moment. So excited to hear you and your family are going to Alaska. I've been twice and we want to go back. Did a cruise the first time and then went back and traveled the entire state via trains, planes and automobiles. It was an adventure of a lifetime. You will go crazy when you see what 24 hours of sunlight can do for plants, everything looks like they've been on steroids and are supersized! Also saw lots of wildlife and the cool weather was a nice break from our TX heat. Enjoy.

I live in Florida. My Tithonias were beautiful 8 ft tall and covered with blooms BUT they were total spider mite magnets. I tried eco but I ended up pulling them all out because it was startfi spread to my monarda I lost 3 plants and I saw signs that it might spread everywhere. So I had to take them out 😢😢 I had 10 of them

Toads eat a lot of slugs.

I love the caladium planter! I lifted my bulbs last year but never replanted them, now I \wish I had! I'll have to check them out and see what they look like! I love the frog, so good for the garden. not so much the heart!

Oh my mercy! The frog scared me too! I have that happen to me as well. I forget the little critters like to hide out in my potted plants.

I guess you can consider yourself very lucky that lisianthus is a perennial for you so you don’t have to start over every year trying to grow it. 💐💚🙃

I really don’t like frogs and toads! They are destroying my flowers. They suck the moisture out of all my flowers and killing them.

Guess what I found today at my Exposito Garden Center: Lisianthus buy one get one free in a gal. Average $4.00 each. In zone 9a n they are still blooming.😊
