Looking very nice. The tall plant with the yellow flowers looks very interesting. I just bought two purple and bloom salvia, this morning. They are annuals in my area (7b) but I love the way they bloom up until a hard frost and the hummingbirds are on them all day. Have fun in Alaska. This time of year it is amazing to see the sun shining at 3 in the morning.

So last year, in July or even august, I planted some Walmart lilies I got on end of season clearance that seemed viable… they didn’t even come up at all last year, but this spring they sprouted & bloomed beautifully!

So exciting! I love mystic spires salvia! Here in zone 9b I’m also able to grow it in part shade. Still blooms. Not as big as full sun but it’s so nice to have the flexibility. Your porch looks amazing!!! Hope we get to see that video!

I love to buy plants from the cleaance rack! I get a chance to try plants I’ve never bought before and larger plants that I’ve not benn willing to spend the money on. 😊 As for drip irrigation, you must have to turn your drip on and off regularly with all the storms you get in the summer. For me here in So Californinia, we just don’t get rain in the summer. I may have to adjust how often the drip runs depending on how hot the weather is but I don’t have to turn mine off until the fall. How do you manage that while on vacation?

I have it hooked up to an old school battery operated timer, so everything is scheduled out and I don’t have to turn it off and on except for rain like you said.

I am trying Sunpatiens again this year. I water in the morning, but they are totally wilted by 4 pm. I'm having to water a second time in the afternoon, and it is just becoming high maintenance. I'm in North Dallas too. Do yours wilt in the afternoon? Do you have any suggestions to keep them from wilting, or is that just what they do?
