Let's hope they don't remake it, but they should have make a sequel with Carlito's way "Carlito is back, he's mad, and he want revenge for his brother Tony and his sister Gina....and find Elvira coz' she's fucking hot"
You wanna waste my time? Okay, I call my lawyer. He's the best lawyer in Miami. He's such a good lawyer, that by tomorrow morning, you gonna be working in Alaska. So dress warm.
Lawyer: tony id love to help you but when you got a million 2 staring at you through a camera honey baby its hard to convince a jury you found it in a taxi cab
Gotta feel sorry for Tony. Dude led a rough life. He ate octopus three times a day. He had fucking octopus coming out of his ears. HE WAS SICK OF EATING OCTOPUS.
I'm going to explain about the cover art on this movie. As you can see that there is a black side and a white side with Tony Montana in the middle. The black side represents the sins that he committed and the white side is the fact the with all of the sinful acts that Tony Montana did there is a soft side to him. You see that Tony Montana is an Antihero. He wanted a great wealthy lifestyle, bring his family out of poverty and he wanted to raise a family but he took a dark path to get to where he wanted to go in life. He wanted his sister to be with a wealthy good respectful man with a good career that will take care of her but he doesn't want his friend or any guy in his business to get involved with her. Tony wanted to help his mother financially but she knows that he was in no good situation. This is why Scarface is a tragedy. That's why the cover art is in black and white.
You can’t be both. You’re forming a point on the difference but it is biased. The evil things didn’t end because he made money. Money doesn’t make evil things go away.
its my favourite movie by far. Watched it the first time with 11years (2001). I get goose bumps by just hearing the music and think about the movie. Movies like that can't be made today.
It's interesting how the theme goes from ruthless and cold hearted sounding to somewhat empathetic and emotional. Almost like the composer was trying to say Tony Montana had two sides to him. Edit: I'm back after six months and also noticed that even the cover art is two sides: black and white. Coincidence?
Thank you, sir. I always felt that the second half of the song was indicative of his sister. She's the only one he ever really cared for in the film; moreso than both Manny and Elvira. She was his soft spot and inner peace. This is all just speculation though of course!
Scarface is a timeless classic, probably one of the best movies ever. There are so many levels to it. The movie is not about being a cocaine dealer, but about achieving the "american dream" at any cost. The american dream that ends up killing you.
@@siippinfaygo7638 remarkable and unforgettable one, but I can't say you're wrong, but the music, oh man, the soundtrack of this film IS one of the best, I know it's subjective, but I love it, Moroder is a genius.
Even going back to when I was a kid I always thought that was the great irony of this movie, that he died due to actually having some sort of morals or values. In the end, doing the right thing got him killed.
@@scootervargas9323 Really the only person who will remember overall since the whole point was to show how much the life he was in keeps going with or without. To us he was special and he was in a way but overall. He was just a speck on the wheel and wanted what everyone else like him did. That's kinda what makes it work so well since overall his story is forgotten and the only person who would truly remember him who's still alive would be his Mother, the only one who stayed out of what he was doing and was there for him since the beginning.
Scarface is one of my favorite Gangster Movie of all time this type of movie doesn't need to be remade. Because Al Pacino kills it as Tony Montana. He brought that character to life. Al Pacino is the greatest actor ever!!!
Tony Montana is actually in a time loop. Everytime he gets killed, he wakes back up on the boat, coming to Miami. And recalls a half-remembered dream, where the world is his. REPEAT
@BENJAMIN AISENSTAT The game changed everything because tony turned around in the right time! :D But he could got killed as a secret ending in the game too just like in the film.
Check out/ listen to Georgio Moroder original stuff. I think he contributed so much to the movie (inc Midnight Express- his music in that is astounding also) Indeed a classic score. R
Scarface imo is a modern retelling of Macbeth. Macbeth kills King Duncan to become king, Tony kills Lopez to become "king". Growing more paranoid Macbeth kills his best friend Banquo, drug fueled paranoia causes Tony to kill his best friend Manny. At the end of the play Macbeth's castle is stormed by former allies who kill him, Tony's "castle" is stormed by former allies who kill him.
And Duncan is initially fond of MacBeth and appoints him to a high position. Lopez likes Tony and appoints him to a high position after the death of Omar.
MalenkyGoblin Huh never thought of it like that. Then again I'm not too familiar with Macbeth. I did watch the original 1932 Scarface, for it's time it was good but I didn't think it aged all too well.
+Shadow Shadow He killed him in the moment of passion and being fucked up on coke. Yes his protective love for his sister what cause his passion. But killing his friend was Tony loosing sense and fucking up.
The beginning of end score gives me the chills every time. This is where the music's the most powerful and it instantly conjures up Tony's epic fall. Truly a timeless film. l
He was a bum...how did he make all that money?...by killing, robbing and mapliulating rackets that tony frankly had no right to control in the first place
@@nikreece6295 he was an immigrant, how can you expect immigrants to make a name for themselves when they are restricted to doing the things they want to do? he never had a choice to begin with, it just came to him because he had no where else to go to make a living
I think we got emotional cause of the way he was. Tony Montana, didn't want to kill the two kids and the woman in the car, he wanted kids in his life, he got married to the one he loved the dearest, he was a protective brother trying to get his sister away from the sexual activities, and he even tried to support his family by giving them money. Sure Tony Montana may have killed people, but he did it for the great or good. And when we saw that shotgun bullet go right through his chest...we saw a positive man die, we saw a respectful man die, we saw a careing man die, we saw...a good guy die...💯
My favorite movie of all time.. Yes i have seen all the godfather movies and casino. And heat. But something about scarface just sucked me in. It will always be #1
Tony was a true mobster, he stayed clean and true to his own words. The ultimate downfall was his emotions in a business like this you have to have no heart. You must be brutal to survive, but Tony had loyalty and respect which is why he didn't blow up that car since there were children inside.
™ I'm talking about in terms of family and honor bro. I mean look at the Italian mafia they had a certain code of honor too, for example they'd never kill kids or women out of respect.
what one has to realize is how much of genius Giorgio Moroder is. a master of his craft. made 5 variations of a single piece each powerful, different and so fitting for each act of film. and did nearly entire soundtrack.
Da Paola: Ma è possibile che Sakamoto abbia fatto una cover di un pezzo di Moroder , io ho ascoltato tutti i pezzi di Sakamoto e ho trovato una cover che sono convinta sia in Scarface!!!!! Love and hate!!!
Tony had greatness. He chose his path, and he knew that as an immigrant in USA he would be nothing. His greatness is in his lust for life, his charm, Napoleonic like ambition and even moral principles he adhered to in completely immoral business and world he lived in. He was also fucked up by his inner demons and the whole success and fall was within himself. Great human drama. Once he sets his eyes to one goal he does not stop until he succeeds - whether it is business or the woman he likes. Remember his dance in disco club with Elvira. Tony Montana - story about Napoleon - how your ability and will to succeed leads you to the top and in the same time throws you back to the bottom. Brian DePalma you genius.
Grenadier on beans nicely worded. Always respected Tony for saying no kids no wife.thats what got him killed in the end. If not he would have gone on until the feds put him away
I woke up for school one morning at 6:00 am, went downstairs to find my step dad passed out drunk and the movie had just ended, I sat there for a good while just watching and listening to the credits...
MrBrendanRoy It doesn't feel like a remake though. Reinterpretation maybe? A friend of mine says the original and this are like Hamlet and Sons Of Anarchy. I don't know, I honestly never seen the original
I LOVE this music so much that back in '83 when I saw Scarface for the 3rd time, I snuck my Boombox in and recorded this so I could listen at home while falling asleep...GOOD MEMORIES!!!...GREAT SOUNDTRACK!!!
Scarface along with A Clockwork Orange, The Godfather, Jaws, Star Wars 1977, The Shining, Raiders of the Lost Ark, First Blood, The Terminator, The Fugitive, The Big Lebowski, and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut are my top 12 favorite films of all time and I really love Scarface so much. Scarface is one of the most impressive and best films ever made. Scarface by Brian De Palma as well as The Shining by Stanley Kubrick and Raiders of the Lost Ark by Steven Spielberg are my top 3 favorite 80's films, the story of Tony Montana's rise and fall of power was brilliant, and Al Pacino was great as Tony Montana. The music score by Giorgio Moroder was excellent, the Babylon Club scenes were absolutely stellar, and Manny was a very good supporting character. Manny's death scene was very sad and the final shootout scene with Tony Montana saying "Say Hello to My Little Friend!" was awesome.
Feel so bad about tony, his life was so hard, he tryed to do the best thing, but the world took everything he had.... hence the ironic "world is yours"
+john hamlet 1st he fuck up with the sosa why he would care about the childs?? now its more better to be dead for someone that is not your??? and the 2nd it was he using his own supply but he fuck up first with the sosa if he had kill the man in the car now he would living :P
lol Tony was never good, wtf. He was criminal stupid thug, who wanted to be a big shot. Lying, betraying, murderous. Sold drugs that ruined lives. Total piece of shit. He begins to realizes this in the restaurant when his wife leaves him. And that his life is shit cause he is a piece of shit. Then he does something that is actually good in his life. Not killing the family. This act begins his ruin. Hence the irony in the story. Tony is a villain, that has good in him. That is as far as good he gets.
thousands of young men have died on the streets pretending to be tony montana. dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing. but i love this movie because its real.
Cosimo de Medici It's a GOOD thing. We don't need more idiots, we need LESS of them. I bet a lot of idiots don't get hired either if they are asked what they favorite film is and why. Be honest now, would *you* hire some ghetto thug who wants to be a petty criminal? More of these "young men" need to die on the streets. Good riddance. None of them will ever contribute to sh*t.
to them at that time period they did not like the time period. they thought it was too Gangster. But for us its not. the movie was a complete failure when it first came out. it only became popular today.it makes more money today then when they released it. If they made a scarface movie and the time period was 2014 and with Meth, then for us this would suck. but for the future generation of 2040 they will have a much more different attitude towards the film.
celik diyar but i ment. if they legitally made SCARFACE 2014. Because there was a scarface movie in the 30's or so. the 1980s scarface was like a "REBOOT" but people hated it because it was boring "modern 1980" for us we would hate scarface 2014 because we liked it how it was in the "80's" time period
Best soundtrack ever! I can watch this movie over and over again and it never gets boring. Al Pacino outdid himself in this role. Nowadays they don't make movies like this anymore. Now it's all about action, explosions, political correctness. Todays movies can't build up tension. And like most of commenters said, I want this played at my funeral.
Don't make an other scarface ... For me Al Pacino is the real Tony Montana. Maybe a movie about Tony's secret son would be interesting and takes revenge on sosa for killing his father.
The people who I knew watched this movie mostly praised it for the flashy things that constitute this movie - but what I also managed to see in this movie was the reminder of what chasing money can do to an individual if it gets too much to your head. It affects you, and your loved ones. Besides the clearly faked and exaggerated Cuban accent, love this movie and its overall message! Timeless classic.
hello this a great movie and they did a great job of the movie, i met Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer and they are nice people. Thank you for sharing great song
In the 1932 version, Howard Hawks wanted Tony to go down fighting. But the authorities accused him of romanticizing crime, so he had Tony cower in front of the police before he got killed. Brian DePalma honored Hawks' wishes in the 1983 version and had Tony go down swinging.
