I think the "Ignore it" one was interesting, because it could be like a skeleton in the closet, like a family issue that they think as long as they ignore it, it will go away, but it slowly destroys their family.
@@bluem.9530 Yes, she would target people close to breaking such as standing behind them in the shower or sleeping in their bed. The only way to get rid of her was to tell somebody else about her existance.
My initial suspicion was that the lady was a Child Protective Services home visitor. You're supposed to ignore them, but obviously it's hard to pretend and the dad's outburst seemed to indicate he was trying to keep his anger under control. I don't know how it holds up at the end, but if the kid doesn't understand the reality of the situation, the lady could be seen as someone that pulls the family apart.
I swear to god if horror writers can't come up with something other than "hurt the pet" as the first sign of a serious threat I'm gonna burn the genre to the ground
I remember the “Ignore it” creepy pasta and how someone theorized that the “woman” was supposed to represent someone that the father was having an affair with, and how the wife and children are expected to pretend she doesn’t exist for the sake of the family. That’s why the mother is the one who eventually tries to kill her, thinking it would solve the problem when it just makes things worse.
i kinda thought of drugs, of course that'd be on the mind considering the first one but first the mom overdoses and then the dad kills himself and the daughter falls in after
I definitely like this theory The fact that the older sister seems to be more aware of it The fact that the dad snaps after the son asks who “she” is The fact that the dad teaches the son rather than the mother
Especially in REAL LIFE if you try killin the person that your husband is having an affair with All it does is make it so your kids get systemized and you never see them again and your family is ruined forever If you think your significant other is cheating JUST TALK ABOUT IT WITH THEM
I actually went to high school with the director, Julian. He was incredibly kind and creative then, and I’m so blown away with what he’s doing. I’m going to be supporting his work for the rest of my life!
@@andrewmcgoblin4016 apparently he had another short film, called “Don’t peek”, and I think that short film took precedence over this one? Not sure, but this director has been working A LOT. Hope to see something of theirs soon!
I remember a Japanese folklore monster called hachishakusama, the tall lady, who would attempt to lure in children. The way to get rid of her is to hide in a room for a day while she stalks outside, attempts to break in and trick you and you must ignore her. That scared me a lot as a child so ignore it really made me unlock those memories and actually really scared me.
I love how in “They Hear It” uses the dark and shadows for a more tense, anxious feeling. It also makes it more scary cause the main people of the video were kids, and not adults. It gives it a more innocent and creepy feeling to it.
The creators of “they hear it” did a good job at leaving the monster up to your own imagination until the last second rather than being a jumpscare fest like other movies. I think that’s a more effective form of horror for me rather than seeing the threat directly, ironlung does a good job at that too and it actually scared me. (Thx for the likes btw)
Iron lung was something else. The noise spooks in that drove me to panic attack levels. I now appreciate jumpscare relief now after watching iron lung.
Nah, the monster should be impact-ful, every time a monster appears it should steal the show, that's a good monster. Like the wolf from puss in boots 2.
Personally I adored the ideas for Ignore It and They Hear It. With Ignore It the idea of just having to sit there as some horrific entity terrorizes you and just hope it goes anyway is horrible - even though you know what will happen if you look at it, part of you still wants to anyway, just *shudders* I also loved the way in They Hear It that all the sounds become amplified when the monster is close. It's almost like a reverse of what you expect from horror monsters - you're normally straining to hear them and figure out if they're close, but with this one you always know when its nearby, but you never know where exactly it is because all the noise is so disorientating. Plus I do think it was the scariest and best executed in general, outside of the concept. It was the only one where I was taking the video out of fullscreen and turning down my volume because NOPE
I adore that Seán will take every possible opportunity to cry alien. Thunder clouds? - Aliens, a creepy television? - Aliens, Someone sneeze? That's extraterrestrial activity right there
I have never watched anything as horrifylong as "they hear it". The exact way that I could feel my heart racing the farther she got into the woods, the louder the sound got, the way it had escalated so quickly was just terrifying. Definitely going to watch the movie it will be made into, as a horror fanatic who doesn't get scared much, I can successfully say that I am not going to sleep tonight.
@@provaricus627 Ah. I did not know that actually! Apologies for the late response, haven't been using RU-vid much lately, but it is a nice fact to know, so thank you. :D
I read a creepy pasta once where a boy and his friend were camping. There was a deer in the river, and they could just see it’s head poking out while it swam. It came towards them, and as it emerged from the water, his friend faced him and said “don’t look at it. Pretend it’s not there.” So the boy just sees it over his friend’s shoulder. It comes out of the water on two legs, and walks just behind his friend. Starts making noises. Freaking metal.
I KNEW IT WAS FAMILIAR! I kept thinking how I knew the story despite never having seen the short movie and even "wait wasn't this a creepypasta??" Now I got the confirmation
Now I know why the story looks poorly written and had me have a hard time suspending my disbelief on anything other than the ghost lady's existence lol
“They Hear It” was phenomenal. The fact that it’s getting turned into a feature film makes me even more excited. Definitely will be seeing that when it comes out.
@@fatimapavon7787 i almost stopped watching cause of that running at that door and crying noise something about it made my skin crawled and then my headphones are bi-neural so I heard breathing in my left ear and it scared the crap out of me
Please make more of this series. I love watching horror stuff with someone and these kinds of videos help me achieve that. Also, your reactions and input helps break the tension and creates a so called safe space so please more.
“They Hear It” was great. They did a great job. It was cool how they didn’t rely on jumpscares to scare you but sound. Really awesome. It made you tense at every turn. The fact that it’s getting turned into an actual movie is awesome.
Only succeeded in making me mad, the audio was constantly peaking and that isn't horror just bad design. Not sure how they're going to make this movie different from any other horror film with a monster based on what they presented in this.
@@samwarren6008 im guessing they will make it so te sound makes you creeped out not the monster which is slightly different but yeah not sure what they would do with it
I liked the last one really much. It shows how much the audio in horror movies affect you, I mean the last video was basically just audio and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Really like this series keep It up Sean.
"ignore it" is a concept that genuinely chills me to my spine, just thinking about the scream it made when the mother acknowledged it and the sounds the mother was making, you knew she was dying but the sounds made you realize just how painful and uncomfortable her death must have been, i think if they made a full horror movie out of this it would be best selling and one of the scariest things out there, as i said before, the mystery of the mothers death while also knowing how much she suffered is a terrifying aspect
Not really...half of the time it felt that the monster was screaming more then the mother...lol but the concept is def creepy of that video...but the last video was perfect
@@neutralGuy777 Um...of course she was...the mother was likely being choked, you can hear her gasping for air. Clearly you'd hear the creatures screams over the mother who is clearly struggling for her life
Sean, you should REALLY link all these videos in the description. I think it’ll give way more exposure to the people that made the content. I always make sure to look them up myself to like them but I’m sure not everyone does. I adore this series
I love the "THEY HEAR IT" horror short film! The buildup of suspense and the sound design are great! The camera angle is top-notch! The horror short film is spooky!
The story behind Ignore It is one I've heard before in creepypastas online. (It's not a new concept admittedly, literally down to it being a woman and the youngest son being the main character we follow.) However, they did it really well. Also, anyone else cope with trauma with distractions? Cause I know thanks to that, I'd be HELLA good at ignoring her tbh, even if I have ADHD like a s.o.b.
@@horseluver4ever623 Being in the dark is 1000% worse. You can't see anything, can't orient yourself and you can't plan an escape route from whatever danger is coming at you.
The "Ignore It" one is originally a great creepypasta story and I think the ghost in it was originally meant to be a metaphor for the mom's depression that they tried to ignore until it killed her (suicide).
That makes a lot of sense and reading what you said pulled my heart. I'd hate to think my mental health would be something that effects my family to the point of fear.
I love your intros and outros to these videos SO MUCH!!! They are such a fun freaky way to instantly bring the mood we are supposed to be feeling for the video! So creepy and well done good job!!!
As an older sibling to a younger brother often left at home alone with our dog, I am happy to say that we are perfectly safe in terms of horror rules due to being blocks away from the nearest forest. We do, however, have a fair few trees in a pretty big backyard... That one scared the hell out of me lol
They hear it had impressive work with that dog to get it to perk up like that. Staying standing and coming in command is one thing, but getting them to be alert and actually act like something creepy is out there is super cool
Never did shrooms, but I have had hallucinogens and had a bad trip awake for three days straight. Thought I could see and hear people who had died in my apartment complex and they were standing around in groups in the parking lot. Came back in and looked through the peep hole in the door and saw thousands of people outside the door, never been more terrified in my life.
'they hear it' is probably my favorite of the mix, this round. its got that classic alien/slenderman abduction feel to it, it's nice visually, and it creatively gives you reason to stick around for the credits :]
the last one was AMAZING and i need to see a full length. loved the scene when he disappeared in the dark and slowing cutting the credit in and out was a great touch
I loved They Hear It. I kept expecting jumpscares but they took their time and built so much suspense. The monster isn't the focal point but rather what your imagination comes up with.
'Ignore it' was interesting. It's not that it's downright terrifying, but the fact that the more you try to ignore it, the more you can't. It made me say "don't don't don't" as I watch the family struggle. Trying to act nonchalant in a state of distress is incredibly hard. 'They hear it' was so good. The anticipation, the build-up... just knowing that something is wrong yet not exactly being able to see it until it's too late is incredibly terrifying. Also, loved the part with the kid disappearing into the shadows up until the end. I was so immersed I didn't realize I was holding my breath.
“Ignore it” was the exact thing I felt like I had to do my whole childhood, as if there were demons all around me but they couldn’t hurt me if I didn’t look/react to them. I think I still act like that as an adult, when I hear a loud noise at night
I’m not sure if this is what you were referring to, but that’s how I felt growing up with emotionally abusive parents. I dared not look at them, or acknowledge them, or make the slightest sound around them, because I knew if they were in the wrong mood they’d snap at me. I learned to ignore the looming threat they posed, as to not draw attention to myself. I’d try my best to pretend they weren’t there, even when they were storming through the house, hitting things and screaming at the top of their lungs, because I knew the second I made a sound or drew their attention in any way, all that anger would get redirected towards me.
It’s funny, I did something similar growing up. At night, whether the lights were on or off, I felt like if I was out of bed, monsters would get me. It wasn’t like I had to under the covers and hiding or anything, just that if I was caught out of bed by the monster at night, I would be torn apart or hurt or something, idk. I used to get up to go to the bathroom, try to hide on my way there, and would sometimes not even turn on the light and just bring a flashlight or handheld device that made light to reduce my visibility on particularly bad nights. Then I would quickly make my way bad and jump on my bed as if I was being chased so that they wouldn’t see me out of bed. It was a weird thing I did as a kid.
That last one really spooped me. The rest where very interesting concepts, but that last one really induced a natural state of true fear. Great sound, great visuals and the build of suspense was perfect. Left you scared but wanting to know wtf was going on.
The sound design for the last one was what I loved the most out of the three. The subtle scream, the cracking in the woods, the fast footsteps, and the unique bang on the door. I was almost caught by every single little sound which is so amazing. Most horror movies now dont have such unique and diverse aesthetic sound anymore. Too predictable.
agree but they used the wrong sfx for the gate creaking, which kind of threw me off. A gate made out of wood and with only metal hinges would sound much like a wooden door when it creaks. The sfx they used was what you might hear from a gate that is entirely made of metal.
The sound design was definitely good when it comes to horror short movies but it's nowhere near professional work. The levels are all way too strong as per usual and you have the typical issues of echo in an environment where there's not supposed to be none or slightly different quality between sfx. The branches being crunched was the weirdest of them all by far, way too loud, detailed, the same sound despite different locations, added echo, it's very messy.
They Hear It was soooooo good. The camera angles were truly cinema-worthy, the soundtrack and SFX fit perfectly (particularly the wet footsteps in the house and the movement in the brush). The actors, despite being kids, did a very good job and were not corny. The constant suspense was phenomenal, along with the film throwing us into uncomfortable situations. Not to mention the alien itself was terrifying due to its stellar makeup work. 9.5/10
It is cinema-worthy is good, considering it is basically a proof of concept for an actual movie. Kinda feels like Signs, if that movie were more committed to being straight up horror (I like Signs a lot, but it is intentionally trying to be more than just scary, and mix in pathos with a story about a family man finding faith again; whether or not it succeeded at all that is where the debate lies (movie definitely has some standout scenes, though).
You must’ve not seen a single movie in your life to think that it was “good acting”. It wasn’t the acting that was bad, just the directing. Main character made so many stupid decisions that got her killed. Top 10 ways to die easily.
Each short made me feel so many different emotions 😆 I like “they hear it” the best as far as being the scariest. Hearing shit in the dark and god damn windows are the scariest things ever
So as a person who has done shrooms, the effects are fairly accurate, part of the reason she was feeling how she was, most likely was because she was having a bad trip. Which bad trips can be terrifying. My most memorable bad trip is i start having a splitting head ache and i felt like spiders were crawling all over me. With a bad trip you can see stuff and feel stuff and its honestly like walking through a nightmare.
I’ve never done shrooms, but I’ve had a panic attack while high and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. I begged my fiancé to take me to the hospital, and looking back, that’s ridiculous. But in the moment, all I could feel was impending doom. Like something was horribly wrong. It felt like I was having an allergic reaction or a heart attack and I was going to die. That experience made me stop taking anything that could possibly alter my senses, cause just the possibility of that looming dread and feeling of complete and utter hopelessness coming back scares the ever living shit out of me. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on anyone.
I've heard shrooms aren't as bad and can be very mellow and even help with anxiety and depression, and acid can be worse because it's lab made. Also it's good to mention you should be in a good head space first. I don't have much experience but it's what I've heard.
@@woofnuggiez Acid is not worse because it's lab made. It's just very potent and easy to overdose. It lasts a really long time too (12hrs) while shrooms give a much shorter trip (closer to 3hrs). Psilocybin shows promise for the treatment of depression and PTSD, but so does LSD.
@@butter_dem_beans1783 Man, I feel you. I was once on a vacation with friends and we smoked weed and drank strong alcohol. Of course a horrible mix! I went on a bad trip... I had stuff like: uncontrollably crying, being unable to speak, every sound around me was 100 times higher and made me crazy, I felt like dying and uncontrollably scared. It's crazy what weed can do to your body and mind. After that I only smoke it sometimes. I know when to stop and when I will cross the line.
@Alexiahahah Man if your shrooms only lasted ~3 hours, they must have been pretty trash. I've tripped for 6-8 hours before on a single dose. Granted, I also had a couple of joints and a few dabs before I took them.
Thanks so much for checking out The Sky. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll put Aliens in the next one :) Recently just released Catch Your Breath which I think you'd love!
i really hope this'll be a real series and you gonna do more of those, i love it! amazing stuff bro! and tbh u surprised me with your football abilities mate, well done!~
The second one is definitely the creepiest, it's so scary the whole idea of a non-human intruder that you have to ignore like they don't exist, it felt so real for some reason especially when the mom got attacked, anyway I don't know what I'm doing watching this at 4 am but I love this series so I'd love more!
Nah, the third one was the creepiest. Including the monster. The second one would be number 2. Spirits aren't scary. But a actual monster? Oh yeah, you got my vote.
Everyone was really getting into the first one and Jacksepticeye was all engrossed in it, and then suddenly he says "Mama" and the entire mood goes down the toilet.
the concept of ignore it is really interesting. i find that when you're told to ignore something, it becomes hard to ignore. it definitely gave me the chills lmao
also can I say how much I LOVE this series. i get introduced to so many horror short films that i might not have watched before (I usually go watch the originals after too!!)
The end of world type horror really gets me. Like genuinely sends the worst feeling of dread through my body, watching your impending death and being so completely helpless will always be my worst fear.
I hated the end of Knowing for that reason. Not even a horror movie. The end of the world style suspense sci-fi is just... scary. Though for scary movies, end of the world stuff or supernaturally locked in like a building or region outside scares me too. Like there was a movie where when you ran from the house you ended up back at the house. Hated that with a fiery passion.
Watching "The Sky" really reminded me of some of the aspects of "Midsommar" and even "Annihilation". Themes of betrayal of trust, warping of reality and distrust in reality, as well as the sheer beauty and terror of the sky. Also, having recently lost my own mum who I had a hard relationship with, it resonated with me and felt very real. Edit: They Hear It was absolutely incredible! The terror was tangible while making the threat suspenseful, the cinematography was fantastic, and the real cherry on top was the sound design! Absolutely stellar. Super excited to see it become a feature length film!
Annihilation was such a great movie but after I watched it I had extreme anxiety walking around the house at night alone. Had to blast RU-vid till I grabbed my stuff and went to bed.
Cosmic horror done right is so rare as a film. Annihilation's one of those rare films. It's an underrated genre aside from the usual tentacle space monster or just generally Cthulhu-related stories.
I gotta admit, the last one had an amazingly designed creature, even though we only got to see it for a few seconds it was terrifying, the weird skin over its face, the no eyes, the screech, the fact is distorts electrical devices, and at the end when the light illuminated it and it just looked in our direction, terrifying.
These short horrors are often times waaaaaaaay better and way scarier than actual full on scarymovies horrormovies these days. Great stuff, great ideas. More of these ideas please.
Damn! These ones were really good. The Sky was so intriguing, and I wanted so much more of it. Ignore it was tense, and just a "get through it" type of film (in a very good way). And Hear it legit made my heart race. The audio was so amazing, the vcr screech, the loud parts that suddenly just go silent. Accompanied with great shots. No through road is still probably my favorite that you've reacted to in this series. But these were pretty dang good
my only complaint with They Hear It was that they seemed to think I couldn't hear it without it being so loud I may as well have gone deaf just hearing it
@Briar Fair, as well as some of the deafening scenes were scenes that didn't really need loud noises. Which made the scenes that really needed loud noises a bit duller.
"They Hear It" was borderline Hollywood quality. I would watch a full production of that. 9.5/10. *Note: I took half a point off because the sister was a stereotypical horror character and walked directly into the threat lol*
I think the main reason she had walked into the threat was because she had to find her brother. When she noticed he was missing she went back into the woods even after having avoided them previously when the dog ran into the abyss, she heard his cry and ran inside. So I think her running directly into the threat was more of a "I must find my brother" thing, rather than her blindly going in.
Even though it might be more typical, i still think all the production of "they hear it" deserves a lot of credit, especially the ability of the creators & the actress to carry the whole thing w the shots, sound, & her reactions w basically no dialog.
i dont know why because i find it hilarious but i cannot find anybody that is talking about how jack said "never have i ever shit myself" then chugged a big sip while making crying noises 😂
