Beautiful! I saw a scarlet tanager in Tucson, AZ in late November 2015. I had never seen such a bird before so I looked it up. I now know he was very far from his normal stomping ground and wonder if he took a wrong turn or was he an escaped pet. I feel lucky to have been able to observe him for several minutes as he perched in a palo verde tree.

Saw one eating seeds in Auburn Maine today.
