Scartho Baths Grimsby 1962-2015

Scartho Baths opened in 1962 & closed today, 20th December 2015. It is being replaced by a new swimming pool on the Cromwell road site in Grimsby.
I was lucky enough to be able to meet up with a few friends to take some photos and videos for the last 30 minutes of its last time open to the public. This building will be sadly missed by the members of the public that used this swimming pool regularly and some that learned to swim here.

Watching this gives me insane nostalgia. Many many great memories with friends growing up throughout my childhood and teenage years in this place

I swam here when I was five years old and all I could remember was thinking about how deep the pool was now I have seen it again

Yep learned to swim here, if I'd had to bike all the way to Cromwell Road I'd probably still be walking along the bottom with a float.

@@simonsanigar3581 I know it really is! The new pool at Cromwell isn’t even a patch on Scartho we all hate it there we’ve only been there 5 years and the place is crumbling 😒

Best pool in Grimsby by far should of done it up instead of building the shite they've put money into now.had some great memories of scartho baths

My kids learned to swim here my hubby used to be a lifeguard in his younger years here to nice to see it again such a shame it got pulled down

Spent many of hour's in there in the 80s the place used to be packed then. Had many of pisses in there as well am surprised the water wasn't green with the amount l did. Didn't see the vending machines what was upstairs in the picture's . Lost count the amount of bike's l had knicked from outside there happy day's though

Cromwell Road is only about a 20 minute walk from Scartho road pool.

went in the very first day it opened .. and hundreds of times after. The diving boards have been changed on this clip.

It would be great to have an Olympic size pool their like it should of been in the first place.i too have heard rumours about another one being built fingers crossed
