Which is totally normal. It's a very similar design, of the same subject matter, but it's not identical, and the placement on the body is completely different. Honestly to me it's kind of sweet that he seems to have wanted something similar because he's inspired. People even do get identical tattoos in the same place as others because they were inspired. Sometimes even not for any deeper reason than like liked how it looked. I think it's okay. If we started gatekeeping tattoos then barbed wire tattoos, tribal tattoos, koi carp, pin up girls, flames... There'd be a lot of people in trouble.

From pose, details to placement it's clearly different the only similarity is it being a Guardian Angel theme. People need to understand the difference between inspired and copied and in Ricky's case he was clearly inspired from GD who got him into kpop and without GD we may not have Kpop idol Ricky today and in most cases people get tattoos that are meaningful/ symbolic to them so this makes so much sense for Ricky to pay homage to GD and Ricky added his own meaning to it.

Non-flash tattoos however are usually deeply personal and often specially designed for that person. That’s why people get upset, since someone is essentially copying another persons art without permission. Inspiration is fine, blatantly copying isn’t. This is well known in the tattoo community.

The tattoo thing is so silly, I do think he wanted a tattoo that resembled GD's but I'm failing to see the issue in that. If people are allowed to get the same tattoos as their favs like many fans actually do or straight up get tattoos of famous peoples faces on them, Ricky getting a similar tattoo to his fav shouldn't be off the table. I think many people getting mad over the protection thing is doing the most. My guess for why they decided to combine the protection report thing is maybe they had each label managing their own protection program which didn’t work well since their teams were busy with other things. Not sure which JYPe artists you refer to that come and disappear but : Nmixx had a comeback recently and earlier this year plus always appear on shows. Twice has never been too far away too, maybe not as the whole group all the time but atleast some members, and Itzy is making a comeback too. Heck even JYP himself has been busy.

If one wants HYBE to look like they're copying everyone in the industry, they'll find evidence. There are so many groups in the industry, and there are about six major labels/companies. There's only so many "meaningful" names one can come up with before there's the illusion of copying. Like Angelina said, this is more because HYBE has _six labels_ under them, or more. Each label has one or two groups to manage. They will eventually look like they're copying someone. On top of that, its so easy for songs to sound similar, as Angelina points out fairly often. Its literally inevitable. There's no such thing as conplete originality anymore, only creative execution.
My thoughts and comments is about you only reading the negative comments and no the positive one, trying to paint that everyone is against this reporting system. Do you hate HYBE that much? You are being very bias.
Regardless of whatever has been happening in HYBE -- I personally think the _conglomerate_ is entirely too big and there's a reason no one company manages six labels and a dozen other media platforms -- regardless, it's important for all idol companies to have a way for fans to report others. Social media hate has gotten out of hand, news organizations consistently belittle the artists, and as fans, we are naturally more intune with the kpop community as a whole, as well as various news outlets. If fans can just jump off the HYBE Criticism ans Hate Train for two minutes, they'd realize that this is good. And if we can keep copies/screenshots of these reports, it's good for the artists as well. At the end of the day, dedicated fans are loyal to the idols, not the management. If Hybe, SM, JYPE, or anyone has a reporting system but still aren't doing their jobs, that can potentially help artists hold their management accountable.
Ugh, I feel like my comment is a mess. Basically, HYBE threw eggs in too many baskets way too quickly and now they're cracked. Any entertainment company having a reporting system for fans is a good thing, even if you don't like the company in question. It can only be to the artists' benefit, _especially_ if the management agency is not investigating and following up on those reports.
At the end of day, it’s still on the company especially as important as a fandom name. The company could have intervened and approved the second choice or something else. iKON has been here for a decade and is also a ‘global’ group and the other group also promotes in SK. People are so dismissive UNTIL it happens to their faves. It’s a fair objection imo.

With the tattoos. Tattoos have so many different meanings to people. Like some gets tattoos to decorate their body. Michael the archangel is the leader/captain of all the angels, and stands at the throne of God. He's usually drawn with armor because he's a soldier (he actually has quite a lot of roles) and the protector of God's creations. There are only a handful of archangels, so just being one sets them apart. But Michael is like, the head of them lol. He's also been drawn often like on GD & Ricky, without armor. Regarding the HYBE copying everybody allegations.... I think what helps make it look more suss is that while people have been drawing similarities between HYBE's groups and other groups, they haven't been drawing similarities between HYBE group and HYBE group (except for those claiming NJ and ILLIT are similar, but that doesn't really apply given the ongoing MHJ / ADOR vs HYBE drama). Presumably, if it's just a case of coincidence, you would expect to see HYBE groups copying off other HYBE groups.
