When I was 12 I was playing soccer alone in the rain at school before school started. while getting the ball I turned around and lightning struck the goal right Infront of me! 20m-30m away! I was so scared I fell over and my friend was watching me and she thought I died! when I came back running to her under the shelter she said as long as I live I will never go in the rain. good rule. terrified for life.
This has to be one of the best lightning compilations I’ve ever seen. Absolutely spine tingling. I love thunderstorms but we very, very rarely get them like these in England mores the pity. Thanks for sharing.
That kind of storm of such intensity happens pretty frequently and is considered not very intense in where I live 😅, ngl I have heard much much louder thunder that what was in that storm. Sadly I always get woken up at night by them though haha
@@DavidOConnellvTnY1991 Come to the equatorial Southeast Asian region, during our most intense thunderstorm months of April, May, October and November. We get loads of lightning daily during this period ⚡️⚡️⚡️
The higher the frequency of lightning with a storm, the stronger the storm you are dealing with is. When particles (Water droplets or Ice) collide in an updraft it generates static electricity. The stronger your updraft, the higher the frequency those collisions occur meaning more lightning. With supercells, the lightning is usually near constant & I mean literally constant. I have seen it many times. Those storms that are usually stronger do produce stronger (higher voltage,) & larger bolts because of this. And yes, they usually do have more intimidating looks like having a shelf cloud, looking like a mothership, or becoming very dark. Those are the storms that get my attention.
6:28 that is sooooo a me thing! Every time the second i open a window or door to take a peak at the storm....BOOM!!! Lighting hits like an RKO out of nowhere!! ⚡⚡⚡#timing
Crazy how loud it is when you're outside... Never seen a storm with constant lightening/thunder like these. Why people go outside in an electrical storm with an umbrella is beyond me...
I don't know that you would be conscious if you were struck by lightening. I think perhaps it was just a really close call. Certainly close enough where you could definitely feel the heat and power of it.
