I absolutely love the sound of thunder. It makes me think of how Almighty God is and what His voice might sound like. And lightning is incredible, it is also a glimpse of God's might and awe and wonder. Thank you for sharing.

thunderstorms are the most beautiful things ever

Last night I heard one the loudest scariest thunders in my life. I don't care for thunder but the thunder I heard was terrifying. It sounded like the earth cracking open to the gates of hell and the abomination would rise and destroy all man mind.

I've come incredibly close to lightning twice in my life. First time, I was camping with my Dad in the wilderness in the middle of nowhere. It was our first night and it was raining like crazy. There was a tiny island nearby our campsite and a lightning bolt hit it. I'm pretty sure neither of us saw it, but my Dad says he felt it. Second time I was at my house sitting on the windowsill with my Mom and my late cat watching the storm when a bolt hit right next door. We all jumped a mile high. XD

This needs to be at least 10 hours! Thanks anyhow,!

the loudest thunder I heard was last year. It sounded like house was in the clouds lol. Our whole house was shaking and car alarms went off. And the whole neighborhood was out of power. Shit was REALLY loud.

There is nothing like a heavy thunder storm, here in the UK we get a lot of thunder storms and it's my favorite weather too. Thunder without the rain which we get occasionally is very nice as well. So calming yet eerie at the same time.

Those shots of the lightning hitting the masts are interesting! Shows quite clearly that the lightning 'hits' several times quickly, and the hits after the first one follow the plasma that is being blown by the wind!

I just love how positive CG strikes always seem to dissipate with the appearance of a string of pearls, or what looks like a channel of thousands of individual sparks.

I love the sound of thunder. It's amazing that lightning comes from clouds that are basically the same thing as fog. 😀

I had my window open during a thunderstorm and sometimes when lightning struck you were blinded for a hardly a second (your vision went white and changed to dark purple quickly fading until everything looked normal all in less than a second) and the thunder was so loud it shook our house a bit.

I can remember as a kid back in about 1974 with an April thunderstorm the thunder was so loud it shattered two of the windows in our house
