Still one of my favorite movies of all time. When this movie came out I was 17 working at Blockbuster video and the Randal character was very relatable. I lived in a very affluent area and had to deal with snobby a**hole customers all the time who were always pissed about late fees, rewinding, and movies that were out of stock. The job would have been great if it wasn't for the f**king customers.

Same, I was hoping for a Vanity Fair style dissection. Maybe talk about the blocking or the handheld POV shots during the rant but this was cool too.

I love how beautifully this shows just how easy it is to manipulate a crowd of people into falling in line. Maybe event more relevant today with our rampant use of social media. Such a classic film. 👍😁

Yeah, this is the scene I always enjoy watching with first-timers of Clerks, it sets the tone so well... The raspiness to the audio quality totally enhances everything when he starts rallying the crowd (also goes for Veronica's voice when she gets upset and starts yelling in staccato later on, the raspy audio in Clerks is just one other reason this movie was so addictive)

Clerks was my introduction to the view askewaverse and I have as since watched and rewatched as many of these fine films as I could. Personal favorite's are Chasing Amy and Dogma

I watched this movie in my college dorm in the Spring of 1995. I remember who I was with and where I was sitting when I watched it. Funny thing is that CVS stores stopped selling cigarettes for these very reasons!! They said "How can we be health care advocates and providers, while selling death (tobacco products) at our front counters."... Very cool Kevin!

Thanks! Great to learn more of the scene's origins. I always thought it was just satire about the propaganda corporations and industries spread to sabotage each other or deflect blame, like what the sugar industry did for decades against fat and artificial sweeteners.
