I can't help to smile when Captain Marvel smiled at Stan Lee when he's reading the Mallrats script, now thats a full circle moment, a nod to his first movie appearance.
This is one of my favorite scenes from Mallrats. Stan Lee’s speech to Brodie about the girl that got away always makes me tear up, even though it was made up lol. It’s a sweet reminder to never let your work/interests get in the way of your love life. Stan Lee did such an amazing job delivering that speech.
First time I saw this scene, I'm screaming out loud, "OH MY GOD, that's FUCKING Stan Lee!!" To me this is was and is one of the greatest moments in film. I fangirl this. Putting Stan Lee in your film made you the greatest film maker on the planet, Kevin.
Love how the story about Stan Lee not wanting to hurt the feelings of the love of his life led to the best superhero genital obsession gag I've ever heard!
The Mallrats Easter Egg in Captain Marvel was incredible. One of the best moments of the film imo. We miss Stan everyday, but he’s up there WATCHing all of us. Us fans, will continue to carry on his legacy for years to come. He’ll never b forgotten. R.I.P. Stan Lee. Excelsior. 🤲🏼🌹🤲🏼
Now the fact that this is all Kevin's writing and Stan didn't want to upset his wife is so amazing because it really seems like those characters could have been from heartbreak. No wonder Kevin is a Marvel groupie because that was so brilliant writing
Started a lifelong respect for Stan the man from this scene. Waa waa he-man this he-man that. Kev was giving respect to the greats before it was trendy! Don’t ever stop kev! Good or bad your a inspiration bro!
"Of course, the Green Goblin showed up and he pumpkin bombed the Hell out of the place..." Stan's laugh when he says that line makes me laugh every time I see it. The man's positive energy was infectious and inspiring
This was one of my first favorite movies when I was in 5th grade. Middle school was all about dogma! And then jay and silent bob strike back! This is amazing Stan looks so awesome with his beard! Love this thank you for sharing Kevin! Would love to audition for a movie for you!
In case nobody ever told you: you defined young love for a generation. I'm tempted to say the last generation. There's no decent way to say this, but I mean it: from my frame of reference, it's Shakespeare... yadda yadda... Chasing Amy. Those are the anchors. I'll also say (not a left-hand compliment) CBM is my favorite thing you've done. Call me a sap. The reality show is what gets me now. Do your thing, as long as you can. The world needs examples.
@@haloreaper4938 How do you know they are alt right? Oh wait, they use language like "woke", "SJW", "Political Correctness gone mad!", "simp", etc. The bigoted shart goblins tend to give themselves away pretty quickly.
Well...it would seem as though I'm going to have to watch Mallrats for the billionth time only THIS TIME I'll know Stan was responsible for the double cameo. Brilliant.
Mallrats was the first movie to introduce me to the Kevin Smith universe. You cannot believe how happy I've been with your scene studies for the movie!
The set up scene when they say he's signing books is funny too, the birth of TESD, Brian is completely unrecognizable. The first episode of Comic Book Men with Stan Lee had a great moment when they're sitting on the floor asking questions and listening looking like a bunch of school kids, can't imagine an opportunity like that.
One of my favorite scenes. It inspired my favorite color edit that I did for CvSNK2EO. It was basically just Iori but I colored all the skin bits green and renamed him STAN. For some strange reason after that, I did surprisingly well with the character. Thanks again Kev! xD
That scene resonates with me as I have lost someone I loved and regretted it every day but like everything in life you must move on and make the most of your time here. We miss Stan every day and thank you Kevin Smith for making you movies they bring me joy and I can’t wait to see Clerks III
Stan Lee was such an amazing dude, definitely made me tear up again seeing this scene, and the cute thing kevin said about his wife that's so wholesome
im literally in tears right now this is so freakkin ace mr smith, thank you for sharing this treasure and you never sucked ever, i would be like brody if i met you and @jaymewes in real life and @rjwilliams also, you are a true legend and a inspiration to many
Still to this day my favorite line from the movie is Brody saying "Let me tell you what I see" I just felt like saying it cause I've said that to so many people but nobody I know irl cares as much about Mallrats as I do.
Good pull on The Ambulance. I actually really like that film. Fun fact, the other big cameo in the film was maybe the last film Red Buttons was in. Eric Roberts was actually reserved for a good amount of it. Not sure if it was intentional or not (I don't know comics enough to know about the Vulture soliloquy), but you had Stan reference one of Spidey's most controversial stories: One More Day, where Peter made a deal with Mephisto for the eponymous 24 hours with Aunt May.
This is so good. It really showcases that Stan was never really a natural superhero guy. He was the big time romance comic writer in the 1940s and 50s.
RIP Stan and thanks for making my childhood so amazing rich with great Hero’s and Villain’s, this cameo is still one of the best scenes in any movie ever 🙌🏻
@@onstrimin261 I'm not Kevin Smith, I'm Nathan Williams! An intelligent man like you should be like getting over one little lie which shouldn't have bothered you in the first place because it was a necessary lie to avoid spoilers!
Stan "The Man" Lee, he will live forever in the minds of readers and movie watchers. He lived a life worthy of storytelling, by writing stories worth telling.
The cameos in the Marvel movies are nothing compared to this. Those are just appear, say at most two lines and that's it. Here he really got to show his acting ability.
I know, I am aware, this is amost off Topic...or is it not amost but completely off Topic? A little Bit off Topic?! Fully off Tpoic? Whatever... but WHO ELSE IS (ALSO) WAITING FOR A KEVIN SMITH REACTION VIDEO TO THE NEWEST SPIDER MAN TRAILER???? I for one hope he, Kevin Smith will do a Trailer Reaction to the newst Trailer from Spider Man No way Home... who else want a Trailer Reaction from him...????
I love seeing how many people love Mallrats now. I remember being one back in the day when the reaction seemed very much different. But yeah, being the director that made Stan Lee an acting legend really is a big deal. :-)
