Thanks! And yes, we do need more businesses here. Hutchinson is way too big for the lack of things we have here. A large part of the reason why we lack things here is because of the terrible leadership we have. They need to be removed and replaced with people who have a love for this community and great leadership skills.

Not sure what you mean by "inclusiveness"? If you are asking if people here view foreigners in a bad light, the answer is the majority of people do not. As for crime, there is not much crime here in comparison to larger cities or cities of this same size in other parts of the country. It's overall a very laidback peaceful place to live that is safe. There are crimes here, but they are very average, and are not that noticeable unless you are really looking hard to notice it. If you are solely coming here for college, (The Hutchinson Community College), it's a great small college that is well recognized and among the higher rated community colleges in America. They have a lot of programs and degrees they offer with an overall friendly college community. Hutchinson holds the Kansas State Fair here each September that lasts 9 days. It's gigantic and people from all over the state and states around come to it. The overall attendance from just this last fair alone was at 315,273 people, which shows just how big this fair is. Hutchinson also has a few other well known museums around such as "Strataca", an underground salt mine with a serious amount of cool artifacts to look at, along with many large scale events that take place down there. And then there is the Cosmosphere and space museum filled with all kinds of artifacts and history from the moon landing to major historical events.

@@RealKansasMan Hi, thanks a bunch for the information. It means a lot. I haven’t been able to decide between Garden City and Hutchinson. Your wisdom would surely help me decide. Which of the two would you suggest me, Garden City or Hutchinson?

@@aryanagarwal8067 It really depends on what you are looking for in your education needs. Garden City has a lot more to offer in terms of things to do and shopping/eating out than what Hutchinson currently does. I cannot speak on how their colleges in the area are, but can say that Garden City is a much more diverse community with a wider range of ethnicities and races. What you desire in the end is up to you. I would research the colleges there in depth and compare them to the one in Hutchinson and see which one stands out better for you. You could also contact each college to get an ideal of what on campus life is like and compare them together to see which on fits you better. I used to live in Dodge City, which is very close to Garden City, so I know the area a little better than someone who has not lived around there, but am not familiar with everything over there due to it being long ago.

@@RealKansasMan I understand your points. I have read some reviews on the internet about Hutch; it seemed a lot of people were annoyed with the drug abuses in the city. Are drug related crimes a major issue there? I would love to know your observations. Also, many people were complaining about the corrupt public services. According to the locals, businesses have also been leaving the place due to unfavourable social and political conditions.

@@aryanagarwal8067 Like anywhere, there are drug problems here, but it's not something that's noticeable unless actually looking for it. The people complaining about this are correct, but what's not mentioned is the people who are on drugs are very laidback and chill and don't run amuck causing chaos. They are for the most part very peaceful. They hang around a certain gas station late at night I used to live by. When I would walk by them, they would make small talk and even hold the door open for me and others. There are a few aggressive ones I've seen, but only had on such a rare occasions. When you come here to Hutchinson, it's actually really difficult to find the druggies. It's something you would have to really go out of your way to find if you even know where to look. They are not as prevalent as people make it sound. I know this because I've been living here since 2011 and I'm always out and about around town. As for the corrupt city leadership, I would also agree with everyone else. The leadership here sucks and are dirty against bussinesses at times. We need better people up there who actually cares about the community. Despite bad leadership, their bad goes unnoticed in day to day living. Their evil does not effect me or regular people that much. It more so effects development and people who own businesses. A friend of mine owns a business here and does really good, but also despises the leadership because they are mean spirited and dirty.
