I really liked jazz club and black pearl. I love your scent reviews. Question, you have a very restrained and curated amount of scents in your candle collection. You smell so many fo’s and there so many good ones. How do you keep from adding a ton of scents to your line. I’m having trouble with picking scents and not adding too many but fo’s are so fun. It’s my favorite part of the candle making process.
The way I pick my candle scents is by trial and error. I concentrate on the vibe I want the candle to have, then I go from there, for example, all my candles are "gender neutral" so I make sure I add a bit of masculine and feminine to the mix. Sometimes I blend inscense oils with floral and tobacco to make it more "spiritual" and it deepens the mood for a more romantic vibe. To me it's like science, you start mixing with the fragrance wheel too, a good way to try is to go to candlescience.com, and read about their suggestions for blending oils too, they have a ton of learning tools for all of us candle makers.
Michael, I really enjoyed part 1 and I'm looking forward to part 2. I wanted so badly and for Jazz Club to work as described. I was totally disappointed with it. I'm trying to develop a Speakeasy scent. I'm looking for the Vibe I felt when years ago my Husband and I visited the Speak Easy basement after hour clubs in Philly . This did not do it😞
I tried to like it even with the salt on the wax warmer method and I didn't like the vibe I get. Too deep for me, not giving me a good feeling, so I"m going to pass on Jazz Club.
