my aunt has this, its called Chemical fragrances Commonly emitted VOCs related to the scent in candles include formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, alcohol and esters. These harmful chemicals can cause health problems ranging from headaches, dizziness and allergy symptoms to asthma attacks, respiratory tract infections and even cancer.
my mom had a candle burning for not even 30 minutes and there was a small fire on the island lol (a native american pot smoking thing almost got burnt but thabk god it didnt, my grandpa made it and its not used for pot its used for decoration)
Candle maker here. When your candle burns for such a long time, carbon will collect on the wick, and your wick will begin to mushroom. It makes candle smoke and soot is being released into the air and around your container. If you still want to burn it for a long time, choose soy/apricot wax, just not paraffin pls. Also make sure your candle producer uses phthalate free scents (perfectly use essential oils).
Nah it happened to me as well....it was a closed room, windows down. I woke up with an intense migraine and difficulty breathing. A close call to carbon monoxide
Me, my mom, my dad went camping, we left those lantern looking things that need gas and like some fluffy stuff in the tent. We left two in there where we where sleeping (ikr super smart) we woke up in the morning to our noses BLACK lol
Yeah I totally remember waking up with black shit in our noses, I even just talk to my friend about this recently asking her if she remembered that? She did, but it kept us warm and we had a little bit of light. We were burning kerosine lamps though to keep us warm. Mind you that was over 26 years ago in Canada.
I have an air filter in my room. Every single time I burn candles, no matter the length of time, it turns my filter black. Most scents in candle are TOXIC and you should not breath it in. Make sure to look for brands that use non-toxic fragrance. I make candles btw which is how I know this
Tbh , my whole family tried it before , I thought we were all poisoned , well I'm still alive and well , I think it's because of the air that we've been inhaling while sleeping , I'm sure she's gonna be alright Y'all PLEASE STOP REPLYING YOU'RE STORIES ON MY COMMENT , JUST COMMENT ON THE REGULAR COMMENT SECTION .
It also happen to me but not with the candle with a dia,it is a traditional day where we light up a candle type of thing and my whole bedsheets also turned black and my nose
This actually happened and some part of my house got burned but we're all ok (this happened like years ago we forgot to put the candle off when it was one of my fam member b-day)
I’m an Indian and we have a festival called ‘Diwali’ when we light up diyas which are like candles throughout our house. At night we blow out the ones in the sleeping rooms But we always get those black ness in our nose and it legit stays for at least a day
I would advise to put the diyas in a ventilated space to try and cut down on the soot. Year after year of that carbon monoxide can do a lot of harm to your lungs.
It is true. In older times, when we sleep with lantern or candles on, we'll get this in the morning. I know cuz my dad told me about it when I was little. Edit: don't worry it's probably harmless
This happened to me. So I woke up and smelled smoke, so I turned on the light and my whole room was smoky. We had to repaint my whole room, and my face and nose were black. I was like seven. My family thought it was hilarious
This literally happened to me a couple days ago I thought I had cancer or was dying or something it was very scary. I let the entire candle burn all night and it was a new candle.
*I CALL CAP* Claiming you have never put your finger in your nose past the age of 20 is a damn lie & you know it! That's like saying you've never farted past the age of 20 either. 🤨🙄
As an hvac tech I've had a few customers who's systems are full of wax, I look around the house and see candles everywhere. Seen the same thing with people who take dabs in there house.
@@whenwherewhathow yeah over years maybe for sure, not allowing proper heat transfer could crack a hx. Luckily most houses have carbon monoxide alarms now.
And they recommend not to burn candles for very long when little ones are around because this could happen to their noses faster than it does with ours. Seen a poor baby who's nose was burnt on the inside because the mom loved to burn candles.
This has actually happened to me and my sister before! This happens with yankee candles for some reason. I will never purchase one again. It’s advised not to burn any candle for long periods of time cause it’s a fire hazard but this has never happened to me with any other brand of candle besides the yankee candles.
This video made me realize how far our country is from being rich. I remember this happened to us years ago when electricity was just a want and not a need. We were happy back then, listening to horror stories from the radio before sleeping. And waking up to black nose, because of "gasera"/lantern. Lol.
she probably does that because she has a nose ring. when i wake up i have to stick my finger in my nose to rotate my nose ring so the gap to open the ring doesn’t get stuck in my nose piercing hole.
I make custom candles here at my shop and use warner labels I buy in bulk ALL candle warning labels should say 4 hours or even less you shouldn't ever leave candles on unattended for ANY length of time. Be safe .. blessings.
Cheap wicks burn like soot. Tech term is called mushrooming. If you ever see your wick opening up like a flower it is cheap and don't burn in a closed area.
Try buying the smokeless candles which contains Insect or Chinese wax , in addition to Paraffin wax , to prevent generation of soot , when burning flame of the candle flares. And all you have to do to put out a candle without it smoking, is to bend or push the wick into the wax. I hope this bit of info helps, Good Luck. 🕯🤔👌🍀💜
Yeah that happened to me a few years back, high af in my bedroom with a scented candle, fell asleep, woke up with cotton mouth and my nose feeling dry af too, literally black soot all up in my nose. I had black boogers that whole day.
That has happen to me you have to read the damn labels lol me and my husband woke up to the same situation lol I was like I need to read these labels 🏷 😅
Spread the gospel god loves you so as jesus love you all and goodnight and I hope you have a great day today and I pray that you Spread the word of God amen 🙏
Ahhh i remember the first time that happened. Hahahahahha. I was pretty young then... There was a balckout which was pretty common as the town i lived in was a pretty small bout 200-300 PEOPLE max. And i was going to sleep so my mother put a candle near my bed to light up the room so i wouldnt be scared. And i remember waking up the next morning putting my finger in my nose it it coming out black, i ran to my mother pretty scared and she just laughed and said thats how it is when you sleep with candles burning all night with no windows open. Haaaa the nostalgia. I sometimes wish life could be as carefree, full of laughter and happyness as it was then. Now i sometimes wake up to the voices of childrens laughter in my head when in silence, whose voice i remember not it could be mine or my friends' that iv lost through the passage of time.
