Scentless Apprentice - Nirvana Reunion Live at CalJam (10/6/2018) John McCauley - Vocals, Guitar Dave Grohl - Drums Pat Smear - Guitar Krist Novoselic - Bass
@@RepaidGold58 you do know its not just blunt screaming, its literally shifting from making your voice sound distorted to a screaching like voice, switching from both of these is NOT easy.
Honestly this guy did a decent job singing. He sang it how it was suppose to be sung...didn't change it up and make it some new age weird version. Is he Kurt, of course not but I respect these dudes keeping the music alive
People can pass judgement about the singing or the crowd or whatever but doesn't change the fact that Dave was absolutely killing it on drums. I had chills during intro
Plenty of trolls here on YT. A few people see how young fans in small clubs reacted to Nirvana in 1991 and they think if you fast forward 28 years and put half the same band at twice the age in front of a tired audience that is middle aged... well they suck if they don't jump around and act like idiots. Yes Dave's drumming is second to none. As good as Tayor is he cannot play like that. Dave makes me feel sorry for his drum heads, cymbals, and sticks.
... every wet nurse refused to feed him baaaby yeaaah ahahahaa this is rad. Like 75% original and 25% cover, but a damn good version 👍🙏 Probably the tightest version ever live wise
I know the obvious reason why they would be reluctant to do it as it was kurt or nobody. But this would be special as a tribute to kurt. I don’t see it as a matter of a disrespect at all but this guy captures kurts energy brilliantly
I bet you buy into all kinds of conspiracy theories... good for you. Kurt killed himself, he was in hell and everybody close to him knew it. move on already.
@@jamesbarrick3403 Yeah. NOBODY was spewing conspiracy BS at the time, or even 5 years after. Nobody was surprised. Everyone was like, "Can't believe he never did it sooner". I feel so sorry for kids who grew up with the internet. People are making videos about how the fucking Earth is FLAT, and these poor numpties are buying it. Give me 30 minutes of video, and I could make a case for aeroplanes not being real, that would have just as much "evidence" and sound just as convincing as any of these conspiracies. Edit: Planes are not real, is an ACTUAL conspiracy theory, it turns out. Also, that they're powered by compressed air, and that we're being lied to about how big they are. Fucking dumb people deserve to believe dumb shit.
Cool that they got together to do this, it's probably weird as fuck for them to hear another person singing Kurt's parts, it probably sounds off as fuck, the singer does a decent job, but it's just too iconic of a role for anyone else to try and take over, it'll always sound off no matter how hard you try, it's best to not even try to sound like Kurt but make your own obvious cover
More and more bands have started doing this; Consider since CalJam18 that VH and Rush are also considering moving forward with Guest drummers; Now VH is obviously two camps and that could mean anything Foo Fighters are utilizing "Guest" Josh as a staple member Nirvana allowing others to respectfully stand in Paul McCartney Joan Jett really set a standard of how to keep moving
Nirvana should get togheter and record the demos that Kurt Cobain left alone... yet Dave Grohl and Krist with Pat could sing alone like in (clean up before she comes) and have a final studio album.
@@ryline666 they could do an anthology thing like the Beatles did, and they could just get some demos Kurt did and remaster them and have backing vocals and add guitar, bass, drums too them, i think that would be pretty cool
@@DevinLatulippe They'll never do that, it would be too painful for them without their friend. Fortunately there's plenty of band mock-ups online for us to listen to. Close enough.
@@ryline666 That's fair, I feel like it was probably really hard for The Beatles to do it without John. And if the remaining Nirvana members don't want to do it because of that. I completely understand and respect it. I just think it would be a good way to respect their fallen friend
They couldn't if they wanted to due to the amount of control Courtney has. Shorty before the death of KC, he changed the power and royalty structure of the band which went to you know who when his death occured. Dave and Kris both got royally screwed over and the band was actually history for months before Kurts death.
Se hubieran esforzado en traer a un vocalista mejor que este tipo, que no da el ancho a mi opinión personal, para tratar de llenar el vacío de kurt será imposible, vocalmente
