This is one of my most favorite videos ever!🙂💜 I live in NC also, and allergy season is in full swing an hour west of Wilmington! Whew! My mom moved to Heaven in 1980, and I still have her bottle of Charlie perfume! Yes, scents are powerful! I've walked with the Lord for almost 50 years now, and my choice is the same as yours...to live in such a way that the fragrance of Christ is evident wherever we are. I pray you find a deer solution! I can't stand the smell of Irish Spring, so that should work!😁
Hi Cheryl! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your comments. You and I have been Christians for almost the same length of time...and what a blessing it is. Your statement about the soap made me laugh!😂 Have a great week, friend!♥
Hi Sherry nice to see a video from you today. We have deer that live in our city that make it their home year round. We also have deer that live just outside city . They actually use the cross walks . Sometimes we have them on our walk by our kitchen window and look in at us. The time we need to be most aware is when they are having their babies especially if you have dogs. Often they can have twins or sometimes triplets. They are not as healthy as the deer who don’t live in town. Pale coats. They do eat a lot of things though which is disappointing. Thank you for sharing the scripture and encouragement.❤️😊
Thanks for sharing with me, Cindy. We have always loved to see the deer. Sometimes there will be 8-10 of them all together in our yard at night. Most times they do not bother a thing. But this year it has been rough. We are hoping the soap trick will work. I hope you have a great week, friend!♥
You have deer....we have baboons.....ughhhh ....we live in cages with bars in front of the windows and doors, and they have free roam of our gardens!! We can't have veggie gardens or fruit trees🙄🙄🫣But we chose to live here, so we cope with the 'boons and focus on living with and for Jesus!🙏🙏🌷🌷💓💓
Sherry, I'm always so uplifted when I watch your videos. It doesn't matter the topic, it's just all so sweet and uplifting. It's like you're a dear friend I've known for years and we're having a sweet chat. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful scripture!! -- I choose to be the Christ-like fragrance! Thank you so much dear friend. God bless you. Love you back! - Seraphina
That's wonderful, Barbara. I guess we are neighbors, so to speak, and I like that! My husband and I lived 7 years in Marshall, NC. This was back in the late 80's and early 90's. We loved it there.
Hello miss homespun wife! Sooo very great to see you! Thank you for the message today! I adore your videos & look forward to hearing your messages! Sweet miss homespun wife. Thank you thank you! ❤
Hi Sis. Sherry! It is so wonderful to see you on RU-vid today. What a sweet devotion you shared! God is so funny because earlier this week I was speaking with my small group about our mission to share the gospel with others. I shared that I’m usually apprehensive when it comes to sharing my faith with others but if asked a question about what I believe or why I have hope, then I’m more comfortable with responding about the Lord. Thank you so much for reminding me that I am the fragrance or aroma of Christ to those around me even when I don’t “evangelize” them. I pray that others will always detect that fragrance on you and me. God bless you sweet friend! Much love and many blessings! 🥰🙏🏽💛
Hi Deanna! Stop by anytime for a chat. But tomorrow morning I have my yearly physical with the doctor so I won't be here then. 😂 Blessings to you and see you soon!
I’m a new subbie and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy all of your content…I actually have a loaf of the sourdough bread proofing as I type (wish me luck) next up is your bread machine recipe ❤️
Welcome!! You are doing great. If you enjoy bread making and sourdough, you should check out, "The Rose Homestead." Mary Rose is excellent with her bread and cooking skills. She has a RU-vid channel and a blog, too.
I have little granddaughters that sleep over and take bubble baths. I slather them down with baby lotion after their bath. We love it. I only stopped using White Shoulders a few years ago. I'm a few years older than you. I can always recognize that scent.
Hi sweet sister. May I suggest, scarecrows, yes mam' along with solar powered, motion lights. Yes mam' it works! Curtis also has chicken wire in a few places. My husband hunts deer, we're in Nashville ♡ he also will use his urine 😮 & spray away. They don't want to b where we are. Good luck!!
Thank you for the scarecrow suggestion. I think a scarecrow in my fruit orchard would be adorable, as well as practical! Hubby has said he is willing to try some chicken wire around our youngest trees. It's looking like we will need to purchase a few new trees though. We will see how it turns out. Thank you for the tips!♥
Hi Sherry, have you tried natural repellents like mint, marigolds, rosemary, planted around the trees. Or bird netting wrapped around the lower branches and zipped tied to keep them on the trees...
Hi Sherri! We haven't tried these things yet, although we have tried the mint-smelling deer repellent recently. We are probably going to need to replace our two young cherry trees early next spring, and when we do, we are going to use several tactics, such as the netting you mentioned and some chicken wire cages around each tree. We plan to leave them in place for a couple seasons until the trees can get taller and stronger. Thank you so much for your suggestions! ♥
I’m so sorry the deer have gotten to your fruit trees. I think I would erect tall chicken wire type fences around each tree. You have put in so much time and money it’s a shame to loose them. Hope you find a solution friend!
I miss you and everyone here! I'm hoping the new year will give me the opportunity to film again. I am writing almost daily over on Facebook, if you are there. And I started an Instagram a few months ago.
How about trying solar powered electric fencing? Might be a little pricey, but would be worth it to protect the investment you have in your fruit orchard.
We have considered doing something like that. But my husband said the wire would have to be really tall. So we are going to try some other things first. Thanks for helping us with solution ideas, Naomi!
