I think I understand your apparent paradox. I've definitely noticed with all of my tastes, culinary as well as artistic, that when I find something that's somehow an exception to what I normally can't stand, I really like it!

Sampled this months ago after seeing your emphatic review, and while I thought it was nice, there was something in there that I found a little off putting(not sure what). I returned to it this week and whatever it was is now gone, and the fragrance is gorgeous. So refreshing and also relaxing. It’s somehow bracing with that bright camphor, while also having some depth to ground it. Really special and moving into FB territory. Thanks for turning me onto this one!

Currently torn between this and aesop hwyl. To me this one seems a bit simpler, with a more casual/cheerful/approachable type of vibe. Easier wear for sure. On the other hand hwyl seems to have slightly more depth with its amazing intense spicy earthy darkness. Feels like a slightly more serious/ grown up take on this. They are both so damn good haha. You ever feel like you had a hard time deciding between these two?

I smelled them at such different times that now I want to smell them next to each other again to compare! Man, hinoki is such a good note haha. By the way I decanted something tonight that seems like one you would like: Parco 1923 EDT. Such a good dark green scent! Have you tried that one?

@@fragrancenotes Haven't but sounds promising haha I will def give it try on my next order. Btw I was going through all the samples from last order and can't seem to find le lion. Is there any way it could have been left out by mistake?

Not yet but I want to! Good reminder, I just added it to my cart on one of the sample sites that has it. Soo impressed with Scents of Wood so far. There's only been one scent I haven't liked by them and it still smelled high quality just not my taste

I would say it leans more stereotypically masculine, but could easily enough smell unisex and I don't think anyone would question it if someone more feminine was wearing it in public :)

Liking your channel. I had a decant of Plum in Cognac and it would stain my shirts. Would I have the same issue with Hinoki in Hinoki?

Thank for watching! What color was the shirt it stained? I'll test it out and let you know. (I've only sprayed it on black material so far and didn't notice any stains.)

I think it was gray. I noticed it would also stain test strips. I wanted to get this one but didn’t want the same issue. Does the actual juice come out colored?

@@jordank6730 Here's a pic I just took after doing six sprays directly onto a test strip (so it got very saturated): imgur.com/a/p2IWMvn The black line shows where the spray area starts. So there's a slight tinge to it, but much less than Plum in Cognac from what I remember! I'll test it on a white hand towel or something and see if it stains that.
