This one is going to upset some of you...but only if you choose not listen to what I'm actually saying!
I'm not saying these are bad fragrances...well, maybe one of them...regardless of my very particular reasoning for avoiding these 5 fragrances, here is what is most important:
If you have already smelled these fragrances and you love them, keep loving them. Pay me no mind. But if you remotely care about my opinion on fragrances, I only suggest that you take heed to what I'm saying about each of these fragrances before you decide to purchase them.
Because I don't wish to control anyone's taste, should you still have interest in purchasing the fragrances I've outlined, I'll have links below.

I’m seeing your comments: DHP is not discontinued in the Eastern Hemisphere, and that is wonderful for y’all 😆 My messaging for it is mainly directed at my Western Hemisphere brethren/sistren. Bottom line, if you’re able to get it for a “good” price (relative), get it! 🔥

Luckily it’s available in Germany, but it’s hella expensive 100ml costs 145$. Sometimes it’s on sale in German Airports for employees only, I know some people working there so i can get it for 100$-130$ still a lot of money to me but it’s worth it’s price 🤷‍♂️

Hawas gets me more unsolicited compliments than any other fragrance in my collection. Work, gym, grocery store, you name it. Strangers coming up to tell me I smell amazing and that they must know what it is...women and men of all ages. Personally, it's not the favorite in my collection but when I want to be noticed, it's Hawas no question.

I just love these honnest reviews Justin. If we want, we can see hundreds of top this and that list video's, with perfumes like this. Video's which basicly leads the obsessive collectors into buying perfumes they realy don't need. Again a valuable lesson for those who are willing to listen. Folks, enjoy this hobby but don't let it become an obsession! An obsession will only harm you sooner or later.

Also, I fully agree with Percival. It smells good, but for the price it really is so close to Fierce, that many people will just think you’re wearing Fierce (especially since so many people are familiar with how that smells). Who wants to spend niche money for people to think you’re wearing a basic super popular designer scent? There are so many better options for the money imo, even just from Parfums de Marly.

Great video. A lot of houses releasing flankers especially edp/parfum versions giving less for more. Just a cash grab and I hope Roja doesn’t go continue down this route. Have to totally agree with your take on this PDM. I tried it on skin in the store and was really disappointed, it’s not terrible, far from it, but for the money and something aimed at being niche it felt like being blindsided. Really enjoy your channel please keep doing it your way.

Hawas is a dumb reach for me, it never offends anyone around me and I find it nice. It actually always gets me compliments even though that’s not my main goal. On my skin it’s not too strong actually. I will agree it’s pretty linear and overall really love it for what it is though. My thoughts are similar to percival. I like hawas's longevity because I don't have to re-apply for a long night of clubbing. However, I find that it is so frickin' loud I don't even feel comfortable wearing it when I go for drinks with friends at a restaurant (before hitting the club) or at a friend's house for pre-drinks 🤣🤣🤣 Agree that it is very linear as well.

For anyone in the USA looking for DHP, just ask anyone you know who’s travelling to Europe (or nearby) on holiday to look out for you. I’m not USA based, but a family member picked me up a bottle from a European Airport for ~$120 or so. That being said, I would agree with some other comments - I feel that even at $250 for 100ml, it’s worth the price tag. It’s as good a scent as I’ve ever smelled, so I think even with a niche price tag it’s still a fair buy. Obviously, don’t blind buy it though - always sample first like Justin said.

I gotta be honest. I wore Fierce for over a decade way before I got into fragrances. I loved it but felt it was time to grow up as I was about to enter my mid 30's. A couple years after, I got bit by the fragrance bug. Parfums De Marly became my favorite niche house. I didn't and still don't understand the comparison between Fierce and Percival. A couple things I will say about this topic. First off, I have actually been asked if I was wearing Fierce while wearing Percival quite frequently. I don't understand it but I have gotten that. Second, I never used to get compliments with Fierce. Sometimes, yes. But not with any regularity. But I get LOADS of compliments with Percival. It's like fishing with dynamite! As far as my own opinion. I got a decant of Percival originally and was originally disappointed. It kind of has an aldahidic smell as opposed to Fierce which is much sweeter of the opening. Fierce is much more linear and doesn't evolve much if at all while I think Percival actually evolved quite a bit. Percival is also really long lasting for a fresh fragrance while Fierce had pretty bad longevity in my opinion. When it is said that Percival is a version of Fierce, I would say maybe they are in the same class, but I don't think you can call it a version of Fierce. But to each their own

I think people need to appreciate this for what it is, it's his honest personal opinion, it doesn't mean he is wrong or right or that these fragrances are good or bad, he is just sharing how he personally feels about them. Ultimately we all have different tastes and smell profiles so not everyone is going to like or dislike the same! I appreciate honest opinions and just because the influencer likes or doesn't like it doesn't mean we have to follow suit. I can't count how many times YT frag reviewers have hyped up a scent only for me to buy it and be disappointed so it's nice when they throw in some honest opinions as well!

We need more honest and objective people like you. Even extremely experienced perfumers have certain specific interests and tastes that goes in a certain direction but i see lots off POPULAR RU-vidrs "loving" and boasting off on any fragrance that they put their hands on (don't mistake this as appreciating the art). Oh this is awesome this is crazy and a week later after a new "flanker" releases they say that (MUUH THEY UPGRADED THE FRAGRANCE). They don't even try to describe the scent they just boast some random stuff. They don't put statistical graphics of wheter ppl like it either, they usually bullshit about the fragrance and throw up random terms to sound trustful. I ONLY WATCH -ATH -JUSTIN (YOU) -THE PERFUME GUY and couple of other underground channels that didn't really made out to the surface yet.

DH Parfum is easier to come by in Europe. But I understand that price is a valid reason not to get a fragrance. In my opinion however, this is well worth in access of 150 euros. As for Hawas, to me is not that strong, batch variation probably. My reason for avoiding it is that I don't like it. finally someone who admits Percival as a smell its not worth the money. I am a big fan of PDM. Almost any reviewer praises Percival like its the next thing . For the general nose it will smell like any other perfume made by a designer for a half the price. I did not had any freshie from PDM so I got myself Galloway from notino and I was really lucky to get an older bottle from before reformulations. But yea in my head Galloway is better , Kalan is better , Sedley . And these are just the freshies. I wont get into Carlisle or Godolphin for example. Spot on m8

These price differences can be impressive, depending on which continent you live. 👀 In Europe for example Dior is cheaper (no surprise), but when discounted it's not even remotely close. Just got Dior Fahrenheit Parfum & Dior Homme Intense (100ml) for €75,- each (official stores, Douglas, etc.). On the other hand, some so called cheapies are, even at discount, still double the price (or more) over here. 🤔 Edit: Dior Homme Parfum 100ml is 112,95.

I think Roja is going to x you from their releases now 😉 I would add to the list every Bond No. 9 and Fragrances Du Bois at retail
@OsAbliNgin911
@OsAbliNgin911 Год назад
Not every Bond No. 9 fragrance. There are two Bond no 9 fragrances that get a lot of hype and fragrance reviewers seem to love. Bleeker Street and New Harlem. Bond No. 9 gets a lot of hate because of their retail price, and the fact that most of their fragrances smell more like designer fragrances compared to niche fragrances by reviewers, but you can always find good prices for Bond No. 9 fragrances at discounters, and they have fragrances that people sleep on. Bond no 9 is not for everybody, but there were fragrance reviewers that loved the house. Kevin Samuels when he used to do fragrance reviews said the house of Bond no 9 was his secret weapon. He had many Bond no 9 fragrances in his collection. Bond No. 9 and Creed are like the first two niche houses folks that are into designer fragrances usually try or buy. Bond No. 9 and Creed were introductory niche houses for many folks probably due to the hype of Creed Aventus and the legendary New Harlem fragrance with that pancake syrupy smell that a lot of fragrance reviewers were talking about.
@OsAbliNgin911
@OsAbliNgin911 Год назад
Even finding decent prices for Fragrances Du Bois at discounters is hard. You can save money on them, but not as much as you would think compared to retail. People are not pulling the trigger to buy their fragrances even at discounted prices unless they really love the fragrance because it is still high compared to retail.

Too many other fragrance reviewers go on and on about how great the new selection they are reviewing is or "10 best in 2022" or "Best Summer Frangrance", they go on and on about notes of fragrances and it seems like they really like everything they review but I don't really see them speak their mind about the ones they don't like. Seems like they are trying to avoid doing that in fear of losing viewers or perhaps getting cut off from their supply of fragrances they get sent to them for free but they say they're not "paid" by anyone and are always honest. But we all know they can stay honest and avoid giving a negative review by just avoiding it altogether. We need more fragrance reviewers doing videos like this. Describing unapologetically WHY they don't like a fragrance. This is great! We all know that fragrances are subjective and to see a reviewer speaking their mind is what those other reviewers should try more often. Keep it up!!!

It’s not about what “stinks”, because that is completely subjective. My reasoning is not based on the nature of the scent (I said it smells nice), but it’s the fact that it doesn’t change, and it’s overwhelming at that…and I only wear 2-3 sprays max with it. Lotta folks love Interlude.

I love your humble energy, Mr. Justin, but I hate to say that I disagree with a lot of your opinions about fragrances, especially with fragrances such as Rasasi Hawas. What I'm beginning to suspect, especially of the fact that you say that it's too strong, is that you are beginning to contradict yourself and am making expectations for fragrances that don't exist. My questions for you are (1.) When you smelled Rasasi Hawas, what were you expecting , and (2.) Can you name me three alternatives to Rasasi Hawas?

Dior homme parfum, as stated by others, is not discontinued bro. It’s really just produced in lower stock probably because it’s nichey and has specific audience but those few really love it and it’s sold out very quick. It’s been „discontinued“ for a long time now but it’s actually not. Also it’s really not overpriced tbh. It deserves to be compared to niche fragrances that go for 150-200 and even more and way more than that. Why say it’s not worth that 150€ just because it’s a designer brand ? It’s one of a kind, lasts for over an entire day on me and projects subtle but nicely as it should. 10/10 fragrance and worth every cent imo but great and very needed content in this community, keep it up brother.

Just ordered a sample of hawas because I cannot bring myself to pay $50 for it. It's a little over $40 on discounters but that doesn't account for shipping. My guess is, that it's gonna be a value trap. If your description of it is correct that is. I'm wanting a little bit of a more refined freshie. Maybe something with Versace Pour Homme's masculinity, but with way more personality as opposed to basic designer scent.

Hi Justin My Name is Alan, I also do youtube fragrance videos in the U.K. I think your one of the most impartial reviewer and I think thats great, stick to your guns this video made write this comment I have and love Hawas, because I work hard in my job 5 days per week, and there was a time I would buy fragrances and most of them I enjoyed but I did noticed a lot of western frags were lacking in the performance department, that's why I started to use Rasasi fragrances because they perform better that some of there western fragrances, even boss the scent private accord falls off a cliff on my skin and at the time I purchased it it was £60 _ £70 and rasasi out performed it with ease Daarej Hawas Were fantastic value for money, so I did a video about it and received some flack but stuck to my guns so although we would not agree on Hawas, but respect your opinion, good luck.

Justin, I agree with you on your selection. I have around 120 bottles of fragrances-which cost me a lot of money😮. I am on a journey to reduce my fragrance collection to a “Best In Class lineup.” Anything that smells too similar to the other--not gonna buy it, nor keep it! Some of the “hype colognes” made their way into my collection and are just taking up space. I’ve learned the hard way ($$$) to stay away from needless flankers and blind buys. I am particular about the gas I put in my vehicles, the food I put into my body, and now the fragrances I choose for my lineup. Get mad if you want to. But, it makes no sense to me to knock over 5 less significant bottles to get to the good stuff. That said, I can be money smart, smell unique AND amazing all at the same time. Just my thoughts.
