My new website to shop or join is www.smellsyum.com. Thank you to everyone that takes time to view these videos. Scentsy has really outdone themselves this year on their warmers! Go to my website and check them out for yourself!
The plot thickens, when she starts the party pitch. Evident bias. I got a Scentsy warmer as a gift from my daughter with a boat-load of bars. So I used them. They are nice, but the Wal-Mart ones are fine. My son loves the blue Scent Sensational Illusions. The scent lasts longer than some of the Scentsy bars I have used. PRICE is a big issue. I have also used left-over Yankee candle wax. I am actually making my own warmers from old teapots. Not hard to do.
Just to let you know, citrus scents are the scents that run out the quickest while land and wood scents last the longest. I just wanted to let you all know!
I am a consultant for Scentsy and I have a BH&G cube in my Scentsy warmer right now. Even when the BH&G wax isn't in the warmer, like if the packet is open or a cube is left out, the scent fills the entire room. No problem breaking the cubes apart and the same cube has been on for about 6 hours and still smells like new. Actually, today a woman asked me if she could purchase the rest of the "amazing" scent pak I had in the warmer. Of course I couldn't sell it to her -or tell her- it was Walmart!
I have the BH melter and wax. To remove the wax for a new cent, I stick the top of the melter in the freezer for about 20 mins and the wax pops right out :)
I think the Walmart Brand has improved quite a bit since you did this video...not so much the warmers, but with the bars of wax . There are now at least 70-80 different wax scents at my local Walmart. They break off just as easy as my scentsy bars, and when they are done I put the ceramic holder with the wax in my freezer for 3-4 min, and the wax slides right out with not even a prying knife and they have never ever crumbled on me.. Many of the Walmart bars I place in my Scentsy plug in with just one piece smell up my whole 2,700 square foot home. I do think the scentsy wax is just a bit better, however the scentsy warmers are are still way nicer than any of sensational Walmart ones. I think the Walmart Wax is a fabulous option for those who cannot afford Scentsy.
The main issue with the Walmart warmers is that they do "suggest" that you only warm it for 2 hours out of the day, but when you look at Scentsy they meet the California Fire Safety laws of a full size lamp. The other issue is that as the stuff at walmart may be cheaper its fragrance does not last as long as the Scentsy does. I understand that it is more convenient to buy your wax at walmart, but my customers don't even have to leave their home and I can bring it to them the day they order.
I have used both Scentsy (was a fan long before anyone else I knew…in 2008) and the Better Homes brand. Though I loved Scentsy first, the Better Homes brand wax is my favorite now. The fragrance lasts way longer for me. This is from someone who does NOT sell or have a bias on the products. And at $2 a bar - can't beat it. I honestly tried the BH brand out of pure convenience. I needed wax, and I could walk right into the store and get it. Both Scentsy and BH have their merits, but based on cost, convenience, and scent throw Better Homes wins here.
It is so interesting to read everyone's comments on the different types of warmers. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about the products that they use and that's fine... You truly do get what you pay for that is for sure. I used tons of the wall plugins by glade forever until my sister introduced me to Scentsy. That happened in 2009, and i've not looked back since. Yes there have been many different companies have started their own version of what Scentsy offers, but again you truly get what you pay for. True the price range is quite different and sure maybe some cannot afford the scentsy prices but i truly feel you get your money worth with scentsy and it clearly lasts longer. as i to have tried the other competitors and i wasn't pleased with the outcome... i to burn my warmers all the time and have no issues at all, and i truly love the fact that it offers so many varieties of warmers and scents to choose from.... I'm all about SCENTSY PRODUCTS, but that's my choice as whatever anyone else choose's is there's ... but i love love love love my scentsy..xoxo thank you for taking the time to make this video ruth, job well done... everyone enjoy your scents!!!!!!!!!! not matter what you use... to each their own but as for me and my house we will BURN SCENTSY!!! CHEERS...
BigTMoney121 is the wax food grade? not necessarily saying i want to eat it, but if an animal or child got into it, do i need to call poison control and/or rush them to the vet/er? with scentsy, there's no chemicals (non-toxic), no formaldehyde, no soot, no gmos, food grade and completely safe..
Jamie Anfeldt, Independent Scentsy Consultant Unless they consume large amounts, they should be relatively fine. The oils and fragrances could have a few toxins in them, however. Just take proper precautions to keep it out of their reach.
Honestly, after having a BH&G warmer for a while and being disappointed time and time again.. getting a quality Scentsy warmer was the best birthday gift, ever!
You dnt have to turn it off for an hour, you can leave them on all day. its just their suggestion to keep your bar scent longer.also my husband accidently spilled the melted wax on him and it didnt burn him or me. It cools and flakes instantly just like the scentsy. And to take out the wax ipour them into a container when its melted instead of trying to scratch it out
+Brandi Walley you should take a look at scentcy warmers..... they are so nice.... they have a sale 20% off ..... my wife is selling them like hot cakes ..... its nice to see here happy after all military life is some what all over the place... and im thankful for her patience.... well take a look no need to buy just wanted you to take a look ..... www.milakay.scentcy.us thank you and god bless!
I have a Walmart warmer I bought a few wks. Pd $15 for it, love it! I break off a little square & place in the warmer. It has never crumbled like that. You poor the melted wax back into the container it came in not try and pop it out! Also their scents are STRONG! I've had to cut the squares in half because they are too strong for my liking but the ones I have smells great! I have left the warmer plugged in for hrs & it doesn't get hot like that. Mine is also heavy & does not feel cheap at all.
I have a ScentSational warmer in the shape of an owl, which I think is so adorable. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I've left it on all day and all night and I've never had any trouble with it. I have many waxes, which weren't hard to break at all. None of my waxes have been weak. All of the waxes I've purchased have been extremely fragrant. I also pour the melted wax back into the container when I'm done and it's never been messy.
U are so welcome! I'm holding on to the Better Homes version to let my clients actually try it for themselves so they can SEE the difference and not take my word for it. I really love my Scentys!
I, also, leave mine on 24/7. I change my scents about every 3-4 days depending on the scent. I think everyone has their own personal preference and I just encourage people to try BOTH. I , for one, will keep my Scentsy as long as the quality stays where it is!. Thanks for your post!
A tip; when removing the wax, all you have to do is let it cool, then put it in the freezer for a few minutes, and bingo! The wax will almost drop out! You don't need the knife to scrape it out.
walmart website and the store has way more then 80 scents to choose from.anybody can go to walmart right now and see for themselves. bhg wax melts last for 3 days. my mini plug in stays on 24 7. has stayed on for a month now. the throw from a bhg wax melt fill up the whole house. and the wax is able to be removed by being pried out of the warmer. and it does not burn your fingers. and also if you crack the melts before you open it it does not crumble. i know this because i use the bhg wax melts
I really appreciate your review of the two products. I've done a lot of reading on the two different products and have always loved the fact that Scentsy is kid friendly. In a house with three boys under the age of 4, it is VERY important to me that the warmers are safe and the wax will not burn. That was the major selling point for me. I'd rather invest in one good warmer, than risk injury with an "off brand".
I've bought several Walmart warmers and most of them broke. The wiring or something messed up and they kept blowing the bulbs repeatedly. They WERE very nice while they lasted, but the quality was just not very good in my experience. The wax was pretty difficult to remove in my experience also. 😕 Therefore, I'm giving Scentsy a try. So far, so good. I like that it doesn't burn as hot. I hurt myself quite a few times with the Walmart warmers VS my kids have stuck their hands in my Scentsy warmer 😩😤 like it was nothing.
I have a walmart warmer and the scent faded away after 1 hour... I bought a scentsy from a co worker and I finally used it today I had them for a month but were xmas gifts. Anyway I put it on since 230 ... it's now 1030 and the smells still going strong. Loving it.
I have both too & I also prefer my Walmart one. I do like the Scentsy buddy's though. Lol. I have Bubbles the octopus & about 9 different paks for him to change for every season. I'm actually looking for a scentsy sales rep, but Geeze I hope I don't get a lady that thinks Scentsy is some kind of wax god!!😜
Scentsy Wax Bars are made of a custom, food-grade paraffin wax blend with non-essential oils. This wax blend is designed for a specific scent-load and meltpoint. Scentsy bars in Scentsy electric warmers melt at 125-degrees Fahrenheit when used with the correct bulbs (25-watt for Full-size Warmers, 20-watt for Mid-size Warmers, and 15-watt for Plug-In Warmers). This temperature is typical of a paraffin cosmetic dip, therefore Scentsy wax will not burn you if touched.
Doesn't it feel like Christmas when you get an order in? That's my FAVORITE part and playing "Santa" because everyone is always so happy to see you! :)
I've never known them to do a special..... but you DO get your moneys worth in product with your start up kit! If you are getting TWO you can do the combine and save where you get your two warmers and 6 bars for $85 ($15 savings)
I have not yet been disappointed by the Scentsy product. However the WalMart brand once it hardens, good luck getting it out. I'd pay more for quality.
I got 3 warmers & 3 packs of scents from better homes & gardens from Walmart. It was a box kit & it was $5 on sale after black Friday. They work great some scents are stronger. The warmer I use for my bedroom is nice & big & heavy. Only complaint is it does get pretty hot.
I recently started as a Scentsy Consultant after having a warmer for less than a month! I wanted Scentsy but couldn't see paying the price either so I went for the Walmart brands. The scents only lasted a short time. I do like some of the ideas they have for scents and I hope Scentsy tries a few of them out but in general my experience with them was much like this video. The wax dries up so hard. I finally got sick of it and asked for Scentsy for my birthday and will never go back! I'm addicted!
I am a Scentsy Consultant, i joined before i had ever had a warmer, I fell in love with it, i have heard from some of my customers about the Walmart ones. Now i feel do not bash anything i truly feel Scentsy speaks for its self. Also i do have to argue we have 3 diffrent bulbs for our warmers 25,20 and 15( plug ins) so always use the one for your warmer. Thank u for a comparison though :) I use my warmer all day and the scents runs me a week!
don't you just love it when a seller of a product does you tube comparison videos.... I have quite a few better homes and gardens warmers... I leave them on all day, none of them have gotten "hot", walmart has a huge variety to choose from and they also have waaaay more than 10 scents to choose from ,it "throws" the smell through my house all day long. when I take out the used scentsy..... mine are NOT all broken like that, I can get in out in one piece. it looked to me like she pretty chopped the ones in the sensational and the BHG, burners before this video, so she could say "o look how hard this is, and look how easy mine is.". wow really some people will do anything to scam oters. Scentsy is WAAAAY over priced on their burners and cubs... and their 15 ml. bottles of essential oils are a price joke also. range from 10.00 to 30.00 I can same size oils for 7.00.... their burners 35.00 and upwards I can get same burner from Walmart for 15.00. their wax bars... 5.00 or more 2.00 at walmart..... now why would over pay scentsy, for a product that works just like the one walmart carries, and scent is 2x the price. She is only trying to scam people into buying overly priced product. don't fall for it, people.
@Bryan Wilmarth well my walmart wax burner and wax cubes work just fine 1600 sq. foot house , warmer is in living room on one end and i can smell it all through out the house, so yes in this case cheaper is good. did you even read where i already said the wal-mart ones threw their smell through the house, or are you teaming up with "Scentsy" trying to sell their products so you are throwing randomness out their?, hjopeing ppl will only ready the remark you left on some1's post and not the persons' post????
I have used the Better Homes wax from Wal-Mart on my Scentsy warmer, and they smell really good, but they don't last as long as the Scentsy wax cubes. Also, keep in mind that the warmers and bases sold at Wal-Mart are factory-made, so if you are looking for a unique, high-quality piece of decor for your home, Scentsy warmers and diffusers are hand-crafted. Yes, you pay more, but it's worth the price. I don't sell Scentsy, just so you know, but I haven't been able to find a Scentsy representative in my area, so I will be ordering from their website soon.
I consider myself a thrifty person and I have used both brands at Walmart. However, when I tried Scentsy, I was sold. I gave all of my Walmart warmers and wax to someone else and have been using Scentsy for over two years. The wax with the Walmart warmers and the heat was my issue. The wax was way too hard and the heat was too high. Scentsy is awesome but you must know, all noses differ. Some of the scents that are my customers favorite, I can't smell and some of my favorites they do not like or it may smell different for them. However, there are SO MANY to choose from that there is never an issue. Also, please do not place Scentsy wax in those Walmart warmers, I have done that as well trying to penny pinch but they will burned off so quickly because the wax was super hot. Also, I leave my warmers on as well and when the scent is gone, I exchange the scent.
There are a ton of different warmers from walmart and massive assortment of waxes. Its funny because i have like 15 of the warmers from walmart. I have them for different holidays and use them 24 hours a day and have had no issues.
I have tried both Scentsy and Better Homes and Gardens and they are the same. The BHG warmers are in 10 rooms in my home and contrary to your review the smell from the wax goes through the entire house when only being used in ONE warmer in the back of the house. You were incorrect on the number of warmer designs and scented wax options by a lonnnng shot. I get why you may want to push Scentsy if you are a dealer and that is fine. Scentsy is a good product BUT it is silly to try to bash other products which are every bit as good if not better. I leave my BHG warmers on all day and night and simply change the bulbs when they burn out which is usually every few months. The truth is that Scentsy is overpriced. I have been to Williams-Sonoma and found warmers for less money than Scentsy. Scentsy is fine and has its loyal followers but for those of us that have tried BOTH and opt for something more reasonable, we know that this is an inaccurate review, but it is YOUR opinion and you are entitled to it. I appreciate your loyalty to he product but. I also value the fact that there are comparable options at better price points.
Another consideration is that if you are working with a good sponsor, they will help you with your launch party before you even put your money down. It works this way: 1.) You plan your party just like any hostess. 2.) Either shortly before, or just at the end of the party, you sign up. 3.) You enter the party into the workstation under your new account. This way, your $99 investment is partly, fully, or more than fully "reimbursed" on your very first commission the following month!
I had a BH&G brand from Wal-Mart in my office before. It's true this brand's light bulb is closer to the dish and it makes the fragrance dissipate a lot faster than scentsys. Now I keep a Scentsy warmer in my office which runs for 8 hrs. When I come back in the morning, the fragrance still lingers throughout without having to add new cubes. I like it spreads wide enough to reach our waiting area, What you pay for a scentsy warmer can be made up in the savings achieved in bar purchases in a year.
I use to be pro walmart brand warmers then I decided to start selling scentsy so I could get my items discounted when I had parties and such and right now I have 3 warmers. I am very picky on warmers and I am loving the scentsy one so far! Not even because I am a rep. I was a customer before. Just the walmart ones got way too hot for me when I changing out wax and I have a daughter thats almost 3 that puts her hand and fingers in things so far the scentsy is doing good! I still got my scentsationals warmer just don't use it any more. I hated too about bhg that All the ones I had ended up getting broken some how and I could not get a replacement bowl any where so I had to throw my whole warmer away. I am in love with the fact I can get replacement bowls and life time warranty. this is my honest opionon. I love helping customers choose warmers for themselves and family but my business is mainly to support my scentsy habit haha! I do love this video though because the how bhg ect gets hot is spot on. I dont burn my fingers on my warmers any more trying to empty it when I do that way haha! Also I love how the wax gets melted just to the point of releasing the fragrance so many times I would go through one bhg wax bar in 2 days because I love my wax strong and bhg and scentsationals just burned right through it! I love my wax strong and long! It is defi worth what I spend. I bought 12 bars of wax 2 months ago and still got 3 bars left and I use my warmer almost 24 hours a day! I am by no means being bias. I am just going based on experience because I had almost always used bhg and scentsationals. Once I got my first scentsy warmer I loved it! I don't think I will ever use a bhg warmer.
I do not know how you had so much trouble. I've been using the Wal-Mart $2 Scentationals tarts now for a few weeks with a Wal-Mart $3 tea light warmer and I LOVE IT!!! You can pick up a box of 25 tea lights at Wal-Mart for $1.50 The scent is very strong. I've loved it so much I went back and bought more Wal-Mart Scentationals tarts.
I LOOOOOOVE my butterfly warmer. We have a lot of NICE fall/winter warmers coming out Sept 1st. I love the WHOOT warmer that just came out as well. (It's an owl) I have to sell it to support my habit! LOL.. Ty for posting and hope you continue to
Your Walmart isn't in Athens, Al is it? They had a 1/4 of an isle devoted to it. One shelf scents, the others duplicated warmers and that's what I based my experience on. Thanks for your comment! :)
I have used both Walmart brands and the scentsy warmers.I have also used several different brands of wax in all 3. I find them all to be pretty similar in quality. I prefer using yankee candle wax when I can which does crumble when you cut it, but it smells fantastic and it melts well. So, buy whatever is available to you and find scents you like! My scentsational warmer is my fav since it is smaller and is a simple white color that illuminates. Admittedly, scentsy does have more products.
I did my own comparisson with the wax. I bought the pumpkin pie from Better Homes at Walmart and it was very waxy and filmy and hard to wash off. It gave me a horrible headache and when I turned off my warmer (yes, I burned it in my Scentsy warmer) it started to smell like burnt wax. My children were getting headaches as well and my husband told me to get rid of it and never to burn it in the house again
I bought one and broke off just a piece of it and put in my warmer and it was so strong I dumped it. I love Yankee candles but that tart I bought was so strong it was giving me a headache. The scent was "clean linen" or something like that. A white tart that smells like clean laundry.
If you stick the removable "pan" (where the wax goes) into the freezer for 5 minutes (AFTER completely COOLED) and the wax will pop right out in a whole piece:) I have tried both as well and I have all the better homes brand and I love it. Also, Walmart has came out with a lot more scents to choose from. Some are stronger than others and last longer but its just a trial and error type of thing.
You can get a lot of great warmers on the cheap if you check out the Closeout section on the Scentsy website. (It's super rare for a Scentsy consultant to not have one!) If you go under "Specials", you'll see Closeout listed. A lot of gorgeous warmers are available there. Another great way to get Scentsy haul for cheap is to host a party -- ask your consultant about it -- you can earn free products ;)
I buy Scentsy because of my friend, though. She is a devoted consultant. She is very passionate about the company. I only buy Scentsy cubes from her just to help pump up her sales.
The only way the scentsy warmer is free is if your time is worth nothing. I'm going to need a lot more than a free warmer to bug all my friends to buy a bunch of this stuff.
I am a Scentsy Consultant. I have used walmart and Yankee candle products and a few homemade wax probucts in the past. imo, walmart warmers get really hot and is very dangerous if u have kids and pets.. Scentsy wax is made for scentsy warmers. They dont get hot which that is a plus for my home and the scent lasts for a few days in the scentsy warmer.
I just got my first sensy warmer. And im glad i did i been in the market for a warmer but didn't know which one to get. Then my friend started selling sensy so i order from her and im glad i did.. Go go mango smells good.
I have used store bought warmers and fragrances - not impressed at all. Went back to Scentsy. Will spend more money for better quality. The store bought warmers go TOO HOT and my husband said the same thing shut it off. Will stick with Scentsy.
From what I am reading the Walmart warmers are smaller, and from the view it looks like the bulb is closer to the lid, and from her comparison, the walmart wamer, warmed the wax at a faster speed then the Scentsy warmer, which to me means it it hotter, scentsy warmers are set to reach a perfect temperature. to warm slower, getting the wax just warm enough to release the scent into the air without releasing any of the chemicals with it makes them unique.
Had a chance to use the BHG warmer and the was was ok, the sent throw was good. Very strong, or an hour was enough. I have meany Scentsy warmers and have them on the little stands. Keep hemon untilthe sent fades, then we choose another scent.
IF U PUT THE WARMER LID IN THE FREEZER FOR FIVE MINUTES IT MAKES WAX COME OUT EASIER I DO IT MYSELF NOT NEED FOR A KNIVE U JUST GIVE IT A SOFT THRUST WITH YOUR HAND AND IT POPS RIGHT OUT OR POUR IT BACK INTO THE PACKET IF THERES STILL SCENT TO BE USED AND U WANNA CHANGE FRAGRANCE
I have a Scentsy pot in every room of my house, but one day I wanted to move one that had been turned on for about 3 WEEKS straight and I was able to carry it with no problem across my whole house. So to answer your question, NO they do not get as hot.
I've used all three brands of warmers and waxes before I was a consultant, and I even tried some hand made wax from local crafters just to support their business. I can honestly say that when I finally tried Scentsy and realized how much better I liked it, that's when I decided to become a consultant. I will admit I sometimes pick up a bar of pumpkin scented wax in the fall if I'm all out of Scentsy wax, but it just does not compare. The warmers get too hot, and the wax is not as fragrant. :)
I have both Scentsy & a beautiful warmer from Walmart. I like the Scentsy warmer, but the one I chose from Walmart isn't ceramic it's a intricate cut warmer with 3d butterflies & it is just beautiful!! It's definitely my favorite over the Scentsy one. & as far as the wax it smells nice just as nice as Scentsy & melts well & evenly. As far as "flaking & breaking" I don't know what this lady is talking about. Sounds a little knit-picky to me. The only thing Scentsy has over the Walmart wax bars is they have a better selection. That IS IT!! This lady is obviously trying to get people to buy the Scentsy over the more convenient & cheaper Walmart one. Shame on her!! 😐💡
Great vid. Just purchased my first warmer. I had it plugged in for an hour. After I turned it off and the wax cooled down, can I reuse the wax that is still in the warmer or should I just throw it out?
The reason the ones are harder compared to the one that is soft is the type of wax used to make it... Soy & bees wax are soft wax which are best suited for using with warmers and jar based candles... Also you can make you own better & cheaper then scentsy... I tried doing it just cause I had so much used wax and I wanted to reinfuse it with the scents and found out here on you tube how to make them... And if you want you can also make money at it....
Excellent video, Ruth. The Walmart wax is obviously a cheaper quality than Scentsy. Despite your connection to Scentsy, I don't think this video was bias. You did a wonderful job of informing folks of the true differences. -Your Scentsy Sister
Enjoyed this video and it's in depth views. I have several customers who swear by their BH&G warmers but buy my wax. I'd like to add though that you should never use a metal object (like the kitchen knife) to remove the wax. I personally use cotton balls to soak up the liquid wax or pour it into the trash and wipe with a paper towel. Using an implement like that can/will scratch the finish of your warmer and damage it to where it may leak and it also causes the guarantee to be null and void.
Have also tried both and so have my friends. 4 friends including myself said the wax from Walmart smells like wax w little fragrance. Also, extremely hard to clean out of warmers. Scentsy wax just pops right out without being scraped.
Only if I honestly believe it..... which is why I purchased the two warmers and four waxes from walmart to try for myself and also why I have kept the warmers and waxes for those local to me to try and compare for themselves.
I was going to purchase Sentsy but my sister told me about Walmart's selection so off I went and found a great warmer ( about 30 to choose from) and several scents (about 60 to chose from). Since that day I have purchased 2 more warmers and tons of scents. I leave mine (3) on 24/7 with absolutely no problems and the scents last 7-10 days. Walmart also carries the plug ins. You do not have to cut the cubes and you my friend are giving a one sided comparison, I'm sure b/c you sell Scentsy.
I have left scentsy warmers on , made the big mistake of not letting the warmer cool, as it gets very hot, and the wax spilled burning the top of my hand
Mickey Breslich ??? This was one very confusing run on sentence LOL! Scentsy wax doesn’t burn you (it’s been proven over and over and I’ve personally stuck my finger in the wax to see) so...you’re on glue.
Do you think it'll be okay to buy a walmart warmer with scentsy bars? the scentsy warmers are very expensive and I don't have much money at the moment, and a lot of scentsy bars XD
I would if I owned any Scentcy products but I wont pay those prices. I'm sure they are great products, I just can't see paying that when I'm perfectly happy with something cheaper. Happy New Year to you too!
I love scentsy, I buy all their products from the animals to the new layers. the scents last a long time when I burn them and I use them a lot. I love my jade warmer.
Myself and my clients are not rich by any stretch of the imagination. This is why I sell Scentsy and my clients order with friends to save money, as well as, do pouch parties to get free product.
I enjoy my Scentsy a lot!!! I own a few. But I also have WalMart and Scentsational warmers. They do very well and there are way more scents than you stated. They last a long time and the throw is great on most. It is very easy to remove by putting in the freezer for 7-10 min. The WalMart brands go on sale and clearance and I don't have to give a party to take advantage of the price cut.
haha i'm a Scenty consultant and my 2yr old son 25 months old to be exact just saw the scentsy buddies and Said "Thats' Scentsy montey (monkey)" he knows his scentsy and when i get a delivery from ups he says "that's scentsy mom"
