Great music played by gorgeous musicians! Long live RIO, Zeuhl, Canterbury, weird Jazzrock & all the amazing Progbands! Thanks & greetings from Würzburg!
In 1997 I bought Änglagård's Hybris and then in 2002 I bought SFF's Symphonic Pictures and heard something very familiar. Änglagård clearly borrowed from this piece for their "Jordrök".
Awesome musicality, i bought this album when it first came out in 1976 & haven't heard it for years but am enjoying it as much as i remembered, this band should have been as big as Emerson Lake & Palmer!
Have you listened to the 1971 self-titled album by the band Spring? If you want to get blown away by mellotron and wonderful song writing, try it if you haven't already.
ELP fans may miss the sentimental & honkytonk piano stuff as well as Greg Lake's awkward singing. But this is a creative trio in it's own right. Better than early Triumvirat (who are definitely worth a listen, too).
Both are great, SFF are very original compared to ELP. This is far darker, more atmospheric art music, very german, not as much chops or rock bombast...totally different. And ELP never used mellotron. You want an ELP ripoff, talk about triumvirat
@@garyvanremortel5218 Never heard of him but he is new not 70s like triumvirat, i'm talking a 70s band that is a near clone of ELP, just as bad as the Yes 70s clone band Starcastle. Listen to both of those 70s groups, very hard to take, and love ELP and YES. I gave both triumvirat and starcastle a serious try bought their cds long aog, and just cant handle their blatant copying. There are even more clone bands of 70s genesis and that is equally as bad. The whole point of prog is to be original, it is the most original music when bands dont copy others.
