what they are specifically speaking about, is the closed door hearing (that you couldnt have watched, unless you were one of the representatives in the room) but yes, trump was allowed to go there, as were many many republicans (i forget the number exactly, but i remember the dividing line was pretty even, like 60/40) and the best part, was that some of the members that stormed into those hearings, actually had permission to be there when they made the stunt of storming in!
For a party so hellbent on declaring his innocence, they sure seem terrified to present a shred of evidence. The number of people who are ok with that really confuses and concerns me...

Schiff was so impressive when he made his opening statement yesterday. I thought to myself 'that is the best speech I have ever heard from a politician" Then he came out for his second speech and just knocked it out of the park, which I did not think was possible. He is the star in all of this and set the bar very high for Republicans and anyone in the future.

To be honest, I think McConnell pulled one of his manipulating tricks. He proposed an idiotic schedule for yhe trial even opposed by quite some republicans. By adapting some of the most outrageous things, his caucusmembers were not brave enough to vote for witnesses and documents. What a manipulation. Now blocking documents and witnesses. Later acquitting the trial because there are no witnesses and documents. And than blaming the democrats for it. It is scary. I expect Trump to be emboldend if he is not removed from office. It will be getting uglier and more dangerous.
