Hi Stephen...wow..I'm first today!! I say Yes and Amen to this video... You said it right. I can relate to all you've said because it's also a reality for my son. You've done so well in moving forward. It makes my heart glad! I'm hoping some day that my son can have a better outlook. Take care Stephen. I look forward to every video. You're doing a super job!

You are amazing and you should be so proud of yourself. You remind me of my 23 almost 24 year old son who has this same brain neuro chemistry disorder. I call it that a lot instead of schizophrenia because it is a brain neuro chemistry imbalance. I would love to talk to you and your parents sometime and remember you are loved and you have friends all over the world who would love to talk to you and your parents about lived experiences and just to offer support when needed. God bless you and your family and thank you for your honesty and I share these videos with my son who I know shares the same feelings as you do as well.

Hello from Kobe, Japan! That is a great haiku. Haiku looks simple to right but they aren’t as I’m sure you know. You’re very knowledgeable guy. Have you read Basho? He’s the “Shakespeare” of Haiku. You’re at the beginning of your journey so I’m so happy you’re haiku finishes with hope. I wrote a haiku for my 88 year old Japanese father-in-law at the end of his journey. I’ll share it with you. “West wind turns to snow On the face of Fujisan A tired body”. You’re helping more than you know with your story of struggle, courage and hope. Amazing!

Thanks for the video, Stephen. Thanks for being open and vulnerable enough to share such personal feelings online. I understand the part about feeling you lost out on things due to Schizophrenia. I have Schizoaffective disorder, and I lost out on a good part-time job I had due to paranoia and hallucinations. Life takes courage to start again after we stumble. Pick ourselves up and move on in recovery is the best we can do.

This is, in my view, one of your most powerful videos. Your poem was small but expansive and deep. Thank you for inspiring universal hope in everyone, including me, with your honest storytelling. And keep writing poetry!

Great video! Right now i am dealing with the loss. Because of my bipolar, i’ve lost the ability to do so many things… sometimes i no longer know who I am. I’m scared. One day, i hope to be as brave as you are. Big hug from Portugal

Good Grief, I agree! That is so hurtful to see a character depiction like that when you're trying to relax and let go and just play. ❤

Stephen I’ve said this to you before you are a truly beautiful soul. I’m watching this with my husband who has only got his diagnosis 5 months ago, he is travelling well I touch base daily asking how he feels etc.. I sometimes feel that I might ask to much but he knows I’m caring. You’re making a difference to my life by helping me understand and for that I thank you. Trent’s lost people too his family which is sad for him but I flip it on the head and remind him of the people who love & care for him, it helps if I put a positive in place of the negative and it works for him. Thanks Stephen & God bless Penny

Dear Stephen, When we last spoke, I asked you to read your Haiku. It brought tears to my eyes. However, starting your RU-vid with such powerful words was brilliant! I am so proud of you! You are an amazing creative being….so happy your creativity it is bubbling up and you are claiming it and sharing your gift with others! Reading the Haiku a second time truly allowed it to resonate more deeply! Looking forward to more! 🙌🏻Ms.Gayla

You are such a nice guy and i am sure the stigma around schizophrenia was what caused your friends to withdraw. i think everyone with the illness can agree that it has happened to them. I have one friend now, thank God. Before i was all alone, except for family. Thank God for them too.

Thank you for this video Stephen, I learned what a haiku is from you :). And I like your haiku too, it's very powerful. And I love how, despite all your burdens, you're going onwards. It shows what a giant amount of strength you have. Thanks for the video again, I've had a rough day today but your video made it much better :). Best wishes

Great video Stephen and just to reassure, you have made a awesome difference already. 🙂 You mentioned missing out on experiences in school/college etc. the reality is perhaps you are giving them more importance than they deserve. I bet for many if asked, they will say those experiences didn't rate particularly high for them... Thing is when someone is happy with where they are at in life and on par with others, and perhaps even the envy of some, experiences that we may have missed out on fade into insignificance. The time of your life is yet to come, and it's not a question of if, but when. 🙂 You must have noticed the mammoth changes within yourself in such a short period of time. Is it so hard to believe that you can pretty do much anything you want, as you continue to grow from strength to strength. Great to see you looking so mentally healthy and strong. 🙂 I wonder where the World is at right now in terms of stigma and understanding of schizophrenia. Personally I see progress, but then I often visit on-line sites, or view RU-vid videos similar to yours Stephen where there is a understanding of the affliction, but just like you Stephen they don't allow such a diagnosis etc. to define them. I wonder what others think. Speaking of which, I know some RU-vidrs use discord servers for building their channels, and to be able to interact more with their subscribers. Perhaps something to think about if and when you think there might be value in it. Also great to see your subscriber base continuing to grow, long may it continue. 🙂

Pain,Loss-Are unfortunately part of life.Experiences- Are hopefully yet to come.Stigma-Hopefully with efforts of people like you, will be diminished but ultimately must be ignored. Sad -Yes it is an evil, insidious disease. Friends-You did not lose ANY because those who distanced themselves were NEVER true friends.
