Scholarship Highlights - Denasia Dixon 

Denasia Dixon is a recent graduate of Smithfield-Selma High and will attend The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in the Fall as a recipient of the Gates Scholarship.
The Gates Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship program based on evidence that by eliminating the financial barriers to college, a last-dollar scholarship can enable high-potential, low-income minority students to excel in their coursework, graduate college, and continue to be leaders throughout their lives. Ms. Dixon is one of 750 scholars chosen from a pool of 53,000 applicants from across the nation!
Ms. Dixon plans to study psychology this Fall. After college she would like to teach psychology internationally, taking what she has learned and adding it to the pool of knowledge.
