@@internationalferg it makes it easier to get ready and leave. When I was in sixth form (senior year of high school in US) it’s non uniform and I just missed the days of uniform
@@internationalferg Even with the uniforms people still get bullied for what type of school shoe or type of school bag or trainers in P.E so it would be a complete disaster without the rest of the uniform "protecting" them.
You can't choose not to do Maths, English, Science they are required everything else is picked based on what that school does but you have to have a certain amount of qualifications so everyone will be doing something. The options you have are based on the school so not every school has the same paths you can take as its hard to get qualified teacher in some areas. Physical education is also required but you wont get a qualification out of it unless you picked that subject out of your optional ones. Uniform biggest downfall is the price, people claim that it prevent poorer kids from being bullied but poorer families struggle to buy a uniform.
Im in school in ireland atm, most of the subjects are 100% tests and a few are maybe 20% projects, its very stressful tbh cause im not great at taking tests
UK also gets half turm 2 weeks of and about another 6 full weeks spread through out the year always seemed OK to me after 6 weeks I was bord anyway and wanted to go back to piss teachers of lol
In ireland secondary school(high school) we get 3 months summer holidays(june, july, aug) 1 week half term at halloween, 2 weeks at xmas, 1 week half term in feb, 2 weeks at easter. Primary school(elementary school) summer holidays is 2months (july and aug)
Im from sri lanka🇱🇰🇱🇰 if there were popular cool kids or cheerleaders like America in my school they would probably get beaten up 🤣🤣 also that's same in rest of world too
In English high schools the core subjects like English Maths Science (Optional history or Geography and business studies) and Religious Education all came down to our year 11 exams which we call GCSE`S. what you got in your exams was your grade no course work or anything extra for those topics. But for other less important subjects like GCSE sports, Art and construction there would be exams course work. sometimes projects based on what subject it is: construction - build something. Sports - design a 6 week workout routine. etc. Even in the less important subjects the majority of your grade would be based on the final exam. To make it worse and more stressful all of the exams would be done within 2 or 3 weeks at the end of the year 1 day after another some days multiple exams for different subjects on the same day as each other so you couldn`t focus on 1 subject at a time all of the exams where coming at the same time and you had to prepare for them all at the same time. I could go on forever just how painful UK exams are but i think you get the idea.
Yeah I can’t imagine having cheerleaders but I could guess what girls they would’ve been if we did. Popularity was still judged by the same things but I guess all the sports teams and cheerleaders makes it more official. Prom isn’t a big thing here at all really it just comes and goes, poorly behaved kids weren’t even allowed to go
Also on the uniform thing, any individualism in UK schools they try and stamp out really. So you can’t even mix it up with accessories or shoes like that, shoes had to be black and leather with no designer logos or whatever, they used to put me in isolation for wearing black trainers (sneakers) and there’d be people in there for having certain hairstyles too. It felt stupid back then but looking back it’s actually crazy
