@@Rimed-eu9jl TL:DR: Turkey may be one of the worst cases, but it is not the only bad case by a long shot. Ok, so the Turkish one is one of the worst, but what I am saying is that a lot of them don't adhere very well to those 2 aspects. Take the USA, for example. The system is for getting data not education, and it uses that data as evidence that it is succesful. So it has one aspect that barely exists and the other implemented badly. Turkey may have the most extreme case though, and I wont argue against that, Im just saying that a lot of countries dont handle it well.

For example, cockroaches and some other bugs are made to fit between two surfaces because they know no predator can get to them. It is called being "Thigmotactic" (From Thigmotaxis, meaning a response to touch.). In humans it's more related to the fact that our perception is based on sight, being next to the wall blocks sight but it IS more comfortable.

Of course, I was in a French school abroad, so I'm not even sure if that's how they do it in France itself. Was there a point to this? Oh yeah, biology class sucks no matter the country.

I think most students in France dissect mice* (not mouses, I'm stupid), frogs, fishes, hearts of something (a pig I guess), and eyes (of cows I guess). This is at least what my friends told me, I switched Biology for Engineering during highschool. It sucks too but it's less disgusting at least.
