XD just giving a confirmation from a worker's point of food. Half the time, the milk company would send us milk that either had expired cartons, frozen solid or was this slimy yucky shit, we can get a box of roughly 120 apples or oranges, only to find at least 1-10 fruits in each to be completely rotten and disgusting, or there were times where they wouldn't even bring us what the manager had ordered a week prior. My manager had to wait many times only for items to come late, causing her to have to change what the menu would be for the day cuz we don't have the item we need for something on the menu
Another thing about American school lunches is the cost. I grew up in a low-income household. One day during lunch, I was in the 3rd grade, I was going down the line to get my food on the tray. At the end of the line there's a cash register. I gave them my name and the woman told me my parents were behind on the food payment. They literally snatched the tray of food out of my hand and made me sit down without food while everyone around me was eating. I was crying at the table and my teacher asked me what was wrong. I told her what happened and she went over to the kitchen and demanded they give me food. She was so pissed she was in tears. More days than not school breakfast and lunches was the only food I got. I was supposed to be on the zero cost list for food but this was when everything was on paper and I guess they didn't know that. I will never forget that day and how low I felt. And God bless Mrs. Adams! She was the best teacher 💜
I never had lunch in school nether because would be charged for food, my single immigrant father got married to my then stepmother who was an architect and did taxes together but nether would give me the 2 dollars for lunch even though I told them about it I will never forget how everyone ate but me , for many years even as an adult I would starve myself thinking it would save me money, I’m okay now I’m a very good healthy cooker .

holy, italy and korea look extremely good. eespecially korea cuz im indian, and i love korean food. Spain is honestly like that one place that actually cares about youth, SHRIMP FOR SCHOOL LUNCH IS CRAZY SEAFOOD IS EXPENSIVE!
@@Denvo555 In USSR countries we used to get individual servings of milk in a triangle pack - it is the same material as your normal carton box but much more stable and easier to use without straws (less plastic). We can still get those cartons in some of the countries here

The most amazing part of korean school lunches is that public schools provide them FREE (from 1st to 12th grade). So every student, including the ones who can’t afford, can enjoy healthy food.

As an Aussie representative, I shall paint you all a picture of the standard Aussie school lunch. We do not need paltry dish trays, we are better than that. We obtain our own high quality meals from home. Staples like the Vegemite sandwich, fairy bread (if you are lucky), LeSnak, the legendary LCM bars, and of course, the apple. Now, this is the standard school lunch, but the tuckshop, ohoho, that is where the greatest of school lunches come from. Our pastries, immense selection of beverages, sandwiches and sources of fibre aplenty. Then there is the one and only sweet chilli roll, which elevated the taste buds to royalty. Sweet chilli chicken tenders, mayonnaise and some lettuce for a combination that was truly sublime (until they removed the lettuce and only put a dallop or two of mayo on, rest in peace). Nothing screams true blue aussie lunches like these.
As a Spanish person, never in the 10 years that I had to eat in school did they give me shrimps lol. It was two plates of food that varied a lot, usually frozen food. Then a yogurt or "fruit" for dessert and that's it. Sometimes they gave you bread, sometimes they also gave cartons of milk, one per table, the tables were for at least 25 people, the small ones, and the double tables had 50 people. They were the milk wars... The water was also from the tap, tasted like rust. Edit: the school was, as a comment said, "concertada", which means it was half public and half private.
Public schools at least, concertados, which doesn’t have a word in English, is half public and half private, you still pay but you pay less and the food isn’t terrible either, in private schools, the food isn’t bad either, it just doesn’t have a ton of condiments but besides that it’s pretty good, I’ve been living in Spain for many years now and I’ve never had a bad experience with School food here in Spain, also depends on the part of Spain you are in, for example where I live, Galicia, the food is good, we have fresh fish, fresh fruits, vegetables, and the food is much better that’s what you described in your comment, but I would like to know, where In Spain are they feeding you this horrible food you’re describing?
@@scorcent in every tipe of school, I go to a concertado and have friends on public and private schools. In some schools instead of eating in the school, you can just go and eat in a restaurant.
I'm british and I can confirm the trays do look like this but we DO NOT get juice boxes like or fruit it's like rice pudding and water in a none washed plastic cup with horrendous knifes and forks the meal is accurate but there generous if they put hotdogs in it

The America food is not always bad... on some days, they have bananas, frozen strawberries, smoothies, spaghetti, hotdogs, actual burgers, trumoo, sloppy joe, very cheesy pizza, vegetables, other fruits, water, walking taco, snacks, grapes, chicken, and goddamn nachos
American here, that Estonian food looks to be mashedpotatoes and some kind of stew/slop, and to be honest, it reminds me a lot of homemade food that I used to and still eat, if I’m honest, I’d put it right behind Italy’s, it looks very tasty, but that’s just me.

That is NOT the food they serve in Italy,as an Italian, most of the school food is not even good. The most served one was carot soup,the bread they gave to us was hard as a rock.And the thing is they give us food only in kindergarden and primary school;we have to bring our own food from home(like a little lunchbox or smth).
Can confirm. They DO NOT give you shrimp in Spain. Shrimp is expensive. They would probably give you maybe ONE shrimp if it's paella day AND you get really lucky

I’m also Korean and when I was there before the school lunches seemed ok, until I moved to Canada and it was a lot more disgusting. Well, I don’t mean it was horrible, but I like the school lunches in Korea when i was a kid
@@Starae336 usually, but it wasn’t anything like this (at least for me). Usually there was edible food (my first high school had sushi and potato gems but I don’t remember the rest. Rectangle pizza and those petrol station sausage rolls were at my primary school, but that was a private one so idk about others) and some good drinks (maybe even some paddle pops etc.) In my experience it was usually only bought occasionally. For some of us it was about once a term (me in primary school) or on Fridays (some of my friends in primary school). Don’t think I know anyone who got it everyday tho
Well you could technically do it yourself, because we always had a salad buffet with infinit bread. The pasta part is true, and the grape depends on your region.
I've been so disappointed with my children's lunches. This is food I'd never feed my dog, so why we feeding are children this way. The amount we pay for what they get is outrageous. Not to mention, why do 1st grades get the same amount as my 12th graders?

Exactly, every Friday in primary we would literally be served fish and chips (that actually tasted really good). and in comp/secondary, they literally served hotdogs, popcorn chicken and more stuff which I can’t be bothered saying lol
As an Australian we never had school lunches like that either. If your mother didn't pack you a school lunch or give you money to buy something from the canteen you didn't eat.

As a Spanish student I can confirm that we don't get served shrimp at lunch. In Spain we bring our own lunch from home, and It would probably be: fruit (apples or tangerines) or a bocata (made of Spanish omelette or Jamón Serrano with cheese). In Spain there's no cafeteria, instead we all go to a big area where we enjoy our lunch and play with our friends while we eat.

Not in any school. I lived for 4-5 years in Spain in Torrevieja ant at that school i went on i got lunch sometimes Paella sometimes Tortilla (the potato egg thing that i miss sometimes) and seafood isn't that expensiv If you live or buy it near the sea but it depends where you live.

You should see the school lunch in Japan. The students take turns cooking the food provided by the school and are very healthy. The also take turns washing the dishes.
When I went to school there, I got to sweep the sidewalk outside with one of my friends, while another one got to cook. Then rotation hit and we didn't do s chore the rest of the time I was there (6months)
As a romanian, I will be glad to explain this one. That milk and bread are some types of ,,snacks” for the students, because we do not have lunch at school. Everything we eat is at home. In middle schools, there are classes that learn in the morning, and classes that learn in the afternoon. The morning classes are usually made up of 6-11 year old kids, and the afternoon ones of 12-14 year olds. Even though the little ones have about 4-5 hours and the older ones 5-7 hours per day, there is no meal served at school. We eat home before we leave and after we come. But never at school Those bread sticks are just used by the students as fighting weapons. They are extremely versatile, being able to reach from both small distances with a thrust, and long distances with a throw. Yes, you heard me right. They are light and allow the user to defeat his enemy by throwing it. As someone from this comment section said, they are “lethal weapons”, even though they taste like shit The milk is one of the “forbidden weapons”, because of the mess that they can make. Those small carboard boxes are nothing to mess with. You may drink the milk inside (or even chug if tou are worthy for the competition), but you shal never, but NEVER use it as a weapon. Once it has been used, the user’s fate is forever sealed with him. And trust me, it is not a good one. Hope it helped👍
i saw a kid once use that milk to wet another kid, the next day he got the biggest educational beating of his life, like 5 of the kids in the class got out their bread, PUT IT IN A BACKPACK and bludgeoned him till a teacher had to stop em
in our school, they are usually just throwing the food around, and once I started drinking expired milk those croissants or wtf are those they are always dry af and the biscuits ... nah , they taste like a hand full of dry plaster the apples are so fricking small and they are sometimes half rotten and about the yogurt... the yogurt itself isn't bad but we don't get a plastic spoon or literally anything we can eat it with Romania really serves the worst ''lunch'' on this list
that is nothing like the schoolfood we get in england. we only get food on trays in primary (elementary school). and evem then, it would usually be peas or beans, ships, and a piece of pizza, a burger, fried fish, or pasta, followed by icecream, cake or apple crumble for dessert. the only accurate thing was the tray. at secondary (middle+ start of high school) its basically the same as what you can buy at a university in america
The saddest part is they wont serve you lunch because you cant pay for that trash meanwhile Italy, Korea and Spain can feed their students real wholesome food .. :(

In my school, the pizza gets microwaved because they have no ovens, the lunch lady’s eat the food and think they won’t get caught, and they told someone with a peanut allergy that the peanuts were beans. Even worse is that a lot of the funding gets embezzled away to xenophobic people

As a British person I can say with full certainty that you are lucky if you get sausages and mashed potatoes with beans, but you can get some nice food, like one every 6 weeks there’s a small chance you can get a 6 inch and they’re so good 😊
As a British person I have to challenge this as the school dinners across the UK are usually the same from the same supplier and you would get a fair amount. I don't ever remember sausage mash and beans being on the curriculum but it's probably changed since I left school
