Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD has been awarded a $164,426.16 grant from the Texas Office of the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division to equip district law enforcement officers with ballistic bullet-resistant shields.
As part of ongoing efforts to prioritize school safety districtwide, PSJA ISD has security guard and police officers serving its 43 schools and facilities. At the elementary level, all campuses have a security guard on-site with police officers constantly patrolling the vicinities. At the secondary level, middle schools and high schools have numerous security guards and police officers permanently stationed. The district’s K9 Officer is also ready and available to conduct campus checks and inspections at any given time.
