This scene here proves that Megamind wasn’t truly a villain at all. He just had some failed attempts, which made Metro Man look better and getting him all praise and glory. That is just sad. 😞
It got to be some sort of racism Get’s stared at his first day cause he looks different Gets excluded from everything Gets beaten up in dodgeball Gets in trouble for trying to protect himself in dodgeball And he’s the bad guy, come on
This made me so angry like he was trying to be good, to defend himself from their abuse, trying to make friends, but everyone punished him and treated Metroman like a hero. I absolutely understand why Megamind chose to be bad. Because he never had any other choice.
1:11 I like how you can see metro man playing the guitar hinting at his true passion Also I find it funny how so many call metro man the true villan but you mustn't forget that he was a kid too at that age and his thoughts were still one dimensional good and bad. But as he got older he realised that isn't the whole truth completes his character arc
Madenique van Wyk Yeah, but from what I believe they are trying to teach, is that even if Megamind tried to be nice and "change himself" he later just accepts who he is and took advantage of that. I don't see it wrong or anything. They just sugar-coated it so children can enjoy the movie too.
Megamind had a deeper meaning. I always got that from this scene alone. Megamind wasn't really the bad guy...just the guy who couldn't compete with Mr. Golden Boy. And so, to become unique and get attention (even if it was bad), he became the bad boy. After all...ya have to have a good guy and a bad guy right? One's gotta be the hero and the other the villain to make the good guy look even better. I mean...Metro man didn't start getting stars until he saved everyone from Megamind's kinda messed up attempts (which I thought were pretty good...just that it was misinterpreted and messed up). See? Bad guy makes the good guy look better. So sad :(
I think that his entire career was just helping Metroman look even better so his singular skill actually had a practical use during his adulthood. It was hid attempt at having a friend. He never hated his rival, they had mutal respect, that he got by being bad. Then Metroman bailed on him to go play guitar.
From the looks of it, Metro man abused his powers, and Megmind got punished for trying to use his mind to make machines that failed to impress people, and got punished for making a helmet that was for self difense, why no Metro man get punishment? I swear Megamind was the only good guy in this movie and the fish
So megamind gets in trouble because one of his inventions went wrong, but metro man endangers his teacher, punishes megamind at his own accord, lifts up a school and takes it on a sudden school trip and gets praised??
You know, this movie isn't that far from the truth. At my school I'm the good girl, I listen to everyone, I open doors for everyone and am never late. BUT! If I do ONE bad thing, even if it's not really bad, I am punished. I am basically the world's human stress ball, I behave because I'm afraid not to. I can relate to Megamind in so many ways, and because of that I love this film so much.
+playfulpippapony lol I'm you're exact opposite. Although I never have done anything illegal, I find refuge in audacity. I break, bend, and test every rule there is (again minus the illegal stuff, I've never had so much as a parking ticket) , and most of the time (not all of the time but most of it) I get away with it. Bad thing is whenever something bad happens that has no immediate reason, I always get blamed. i've been accused of stealing cars, smuggling vast amounts of drugs, and commiting acts of terrorism, but mostly terrorism. Of course each time I was ruled out almost immediately by the authorities due to usually never having been anywhere close to such things when they happen, but the kids never believe it, so at my high school I'm considered a genius supervillan (I am neither of these things). You might be the stress ball but Im the scapegoat.
Punishment and reinforcement is to teach you right and wrong Just because you helped homeless your whole life doesn't mean you'll get away with committing mass murder because you've 'earned brownie points'
I can relate. Recently on the playground at my pre-school this kid named Daniel stole my DS, even after I gave him my juice box at lunch. I had to tell the teacher and to get back at me he called a false school shooting threat :(
yeah metroman was a bully along with his friends. Megamind just wanted to be liked and they bullied him, so messed up. im glad the people who commented here also like megamind
this part of the movie always makes me cry, no matter how many times I watch it's so sad specially the class picture or when they attack him with dodgeballs
Watching this as an adult almost makes me cry. I went through the exact same garbage that Megamind did. I simply just want to get along but the other kids just wouldn't let me and even make me look bad in front of other teachers. The worse thing is teachers don't really help you deal with this kind of stuff... they never do 😥
As a kid myself I use to think bad guys are bad guys who are just straight up bad but as a grew older I look up their origin of why they became evil some use to be good and became villian can't help to feel sorry for them. There are some good people out there that society doesn't consider as one of them so therefore there mostly alone an outcast n if they want a relationship with them girls or guys won't even have a 2nd look at them should that person cause they think there weird. Megamind in a way is like that when I watch the movie he never gave me a vibe that he was evil just a misguided soul who is trying to find purpose in life
I love how the teacher doesn’t do anything to control the situation she just doesn’t care about megamind at all I definitely feel bad for megamind during this flashback sequence.
this seems to have megamind be more misunderstood and confused because hes only been around bad people, and he just wanted praise for what he did and wanted friends. this honestly is what it looks like ngl
But Megamind show us how system is, they never sent him in a council and therapist to speak him. They just sent him to the prison, plus I think Metroman could of capture Megamind and speak him too before leaving the whole city .
If only Kids understand villian after watching this, It seem like kids never did, Not even myself :( You know what they say "As a child you love the hero, as a adult you understand the villian"
Yea true just lile the hercules film. I used to love hercules but as i grew up and watched it again. I started to like hades more and understand him better. Thats where i started loving villain characters.
I've heard about that last quote on 3 days ago. And I SO understand. I never taken the villain seriously when I was a kid. But t=when I got older, I started to feel their PAIN.
10 reasons why the teacher should be fired. 1.allowing a student to give out the punishments 2.allowing the kid to use his powers that could harm any of the students 3.allowing the kids to neglect mega mind. 4.NOT GIVING MEGA MIND PRAISE FOR HIS INVENTIONS THAT HE MADE IN LIKE 1st GRADE! 5.allowing bullying to happen 6.not being fair with privileges. 7.having soups/detergents in easy to get locations 8.no bathroom 😐 9.not treating the students equally 10.ALLOWING METROMAN TO FLY AWAY WITH THE SCHOOL!
@@SourelppA Well due to the failed experiments and him living in maximum security, I think she had prejudice against megmamind and always thought he was the bad student
It got to be some sort of racism Get’s stared at his first day cause he looks different Gets excluded from everything Gets beaten up in dodgeball Gets in trouble for trying to protect himself in dodgeball And he’s the bad guy, come on
i always identity a lot with megamind...you see he is not the bad guy he is the misunderstood, you can see it in the begining of the movie maybe they dont like him cause he is blue? you see he just wanted to feel apreciated, loved to fit in, and when he tries to get the affection by his means...he fails, he is punished for his mistakes...why?, when they play he gets picked last and all the abusive kids just want to hurt him, and when he tries to defend himself...he is punished again? really if there is someone to blame here for how he is, is them, they made him that way and thats just plain sad its so...life like its not like they gave him an option
When Megamind said "Somedays it's just me and Minion against the world", I found that touching. Even if he is unwanted, he at least have Minion with him.
Is the prison like a private prison that gets funding based on the amount of prisoners they have? Is that why they imprisoned Megamind since he was baby, so they can get more money from having him.
I feel very sad for megamind he just wanted to be popular too and he was never chosen to be first and he wanted to do the same think metroman did but he failed and turned in to a villain because since he was small he was born in prison the prisoners taught him how to be bad and now hes a villain
I know it's a comedy movie, but the city/prison authorities letting criminals raise and corrupt an orphan alien infant is weird AF. IDK, getting him out of the prison and finding him proper foster parents seem more logical lol.
I see it as a metaphor for how we do not get to choose our upbringings...I mean if we are talking realistic, the government would have gone all Cadmus on old Metroboy here...and the fact that he magically ends up in a rich family is also a good juxtaposition of this.
vinny bartlett There's a fanfic about that. If they let him out, scientists would track him down and try to dissect him. In the prison he was... technically... safe.
