From what history tells me, I would bet on The Queen again ANY, I said ANY female. Queen and Bad Rosemary was my too favorite bitches as far as history goes..
Bought a male and a female out of the same litter from Don in ‘99. Great little dogs with good solid structure and tremendous fortitude. They were 38lbs and 41lbs and both were completely white. Game, smart and rough!
Thank you both for the interview. That is a humble guy , to have raised so many legends. I’ll be listening to this for the next three days. You’re on a roll Schoolboy! I appreciate hard work that you put into keeping the history of these animals. In my opinion, no animal bred by man has a greater story or traceable genealogy than our bulldogs. Much love and respect from Louisiana
You're words and support are greatly appreciated. David is great people and a very experienced dogman. It was an honor to interview him. Much respect to you
This episode has filled in the blanks that I had questions about since late 80's. I was lucky enough to meet Don about 16 years ago at a fun show up here in NC. Great Job!👏
Sony Sykes didn’t write the story about Cassius clay. His yard boy did. Pat aka tattoo ted set it straight in the following issue. Sony was bitter because when joe corvino died the dogs went to jim Willson who took care of the dogs in the shop. Sony had to buy the dogs from joes wife. The only corvino dogs in Florida was the ones marry had who was joes granddaughter. This came from the Taylor Street crew in Chicago.
Richard, this was the most enjoyable bulldog video I have listened to, you did a great job of getting Mr Devine talking about historic dogs and dogmen, but I got a question, honestly how did those dogs compare to the dogs in the 80's and 90's? I never seen a dog that was a purple blood dog, and I've seen some pretty rough dogs, the rough dogs I've seen just broke dogs down fairly quick and easy. Thank Mr Devine, that was great to listen to.
I appreciate it very much. It's my opinion that good dogs back then would be good now and vice-versa and the improvement of the breed is based on individual breeders and dogmen rather than on the whole. Everything good and bad has happened and will happen. The difference is there's more dogs now so more good and more bad also. To me the purple blood would be like the black blood we saw. Deep wounds back in the day.
Thank y'all. I love hearing anything i can about Dbl Gr Ch Tornado, best game dog to ever live. So badly wish I got to see her go, it would be the greatest honor to preserve her bloodline.
@bonnersmonsters, best to ever live? That’s a pretty bold statement, especially for someone who hasn’t even seen the dog. Why because she won 8x? So what about Gr ch chewy 9xW, or Barracuda, or Pedro or Tudors Blackjack 16xW?
Can help me get a pup or two from a good kennel. I bought a pup that looked like a bulldog and she turned 5 months and grew a afro. It's been about 10 to 12 years since I had a bulldog. Help.........
Colby blood has a long history with the breed. It's one of the foundation bloodlines and crossed good with just about everything and almost everything has Colby in it.
