It was a true Honor and great pleasure to be apart of this. I thank you and commend you Sir for all that you do for the breed Mr Garcia ! Again thanks for allowing me to take part in this . Hicks !
@aubzhick5023 I would like to talk to dogs with you. If you ever have the time, I read all your information on facebook.. I would like to talk about breeding with you..
Yes Mr Hicks I really think alot about the way you process things every time I get a chance to read your posts and this video with Mr G was excellent and you are a well spoken person enjoyed it and I will love to speak to you
Having a Hicks bred dog taught me something and bring the best out of me as a dogman going on 46 I have been in the game a very long time a schoolboy and Mr Hicks I have a lot of respect for you both
Thanks Mr Hicks, for your service. And thanks to you , Schoolboy, for bringing this dogman out for everyone to learn from. Personally, I think this man has some real admirable qualities as far as breeding practices and also, his comments on preserving the breed’s history ( and still breeding dogs that continue to represent their families). Much love and respect from Louisiana
Wow, I haven't heard Corvino in years... Back in the day a guy moved from Chi-Town to our city...He had this beautiful Corvino dog... Every dog from one to six were Covino..I wish I could remember the dogs name, but that was back in the late 70's.. What I do recall is, that dog came through the man's screen dog and he wasn't playing... Beautiful, but mean as a snake. You know how first impressions stick..lol Now we did have Clouse and Hemphill and Neblett all over the city with some dogs off Greenwoods Jimmy Boots around also.. Those were the good old days when you would see what you read about..
Makes sense to me since Corvino was from that area. In fact lots of old dogmen were from there. Bodzianowski,Buffalo Soldier,Rip Ryan,Heinzl...ect...and Corvino dogs were some of the best ever. Great history you gave us. Thank you
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 We had no idea, at that time how important just owning those dogs and learning their traits, at that time.. I can honestly say from owning Wilder/Hemphill dogs... Those dogs produced a high percentage of man biters.. I'm not talking about dogs that were territorial either ... Straight man killers! And as you noted, many were also game... I just never cared for that trait regardless of the quality of the dogs .. I was over my kennel brother's house, taking care of his dogs while he was on vacation.. Now, all of his dogs have been around me since pup stage.. This one Hemphill/Wilder bitch on his yard we called Money, who, decided on that day she wanted to bite me and the bitch was off her cable system! I heralded that five foot fence as if I was Carl Lewis.. lol.. Bitch was on my heels, I jumped my ass in the bed of my truck, where I had a nightstick.. Bitch jumped up on the bed and crack, crack... Night.. night... lol
I’m a hog hunter, and an admirer of Gameness and I feel like I can get closer with these dogs than any other dog. I got a dog from garner a few months ago and he is 7 months old right now and he made me as proud as I have ever been last night on a 280 ib BOAR hog… He almost lost his life but he caught the hog. Comin in hog bit him real hard in the neck and popped a bad bleeder, long story short finally got blood to stop and I think he’s gonna make it! Big learning experience for him during a hurricane down here in central Florida. Respect to you guys, another awesome interview!
Great story as I have been on several hog hunts and I have great respect for people like yourself. The breed is great for that endeavor. I wish you all the best with him.
I disliked having early starters, especially in the city...They are on 24 seven and keep your whole yard in an uproar and plus they are disturbing your neighbors! When I stayed in the sticks my nearest neighbor was 3 miles down the road and his home was another mile off the black top... I had a few young ones off Pit Stops Mechanic and a Hightower Roscoe bitch breeding we made.. We lived in the country , which was great!! They were on full blast at 3 or 4 months.. Barking ass dogs...Glad I lived in the sticks at that time...In the city Animal Control would be able to fund their Christmas Dinner from the fines they would have slapped me with...lol..
You're right they can be a nuisance and caused problems, especially in the city. My friend taught all of his dogs not to bark incessantly from a young age. Even at feeding time they kept quiet, whether they were young or late starters.
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 I got four young ones, I bred that are 3/4 RB and 1/4 RBJ... One does that RB screaming.. smh.. I have one Garmin shock collar to correct that habit.. After a couple of days he figured out what I wanted... Silent at feed time and that's wonderful imo... Lol
Schoolboy, you know the Minkman?!? I recently discovered his channel and I think he’s a genius. Minks are some bad little critters! He had a bulldog and some other breeds catching rats that were underground. Drop that little mink down the hole and rats started pouring out from holes everywhere! I don’t know that little mink was doing in that hole but those rats wanted nothing to do with it 😂

In my humble opinion about breeding I like to do it like my gamefowl 2 different bloodlines out of those families we created strains off each bloodline 4 per bloodline and in certain time whenever you think you need to refresh you refresh then within each other and now we are going about 20 to 25 years and then from there you cross them between them 2 different bloodlines and you will never run out of crosses infinite combinations with 8 strains out of 2 bloodlines ah and all uniform Love it out here with them everyday
People sleep on Mr Garcia aka the schoolboy but he contributed so much to this game and introduced us to one of the best producers of all time Big Red....
Contact me on Facebook messenger,Richard Garcia and ask to be friended. I'll accept the friend request then I can add you to my group. Remind me who you are when you msg me.
@@EastTxBulldogs I am still working on Accepting the blue as well as Bullys I never cared about a pit bulls color til blue started exploding onto the scene in the early mid 90s n the bully as well 100 against em 2024 still can't see to add them to the list of What is a Pit Bull but over the last 12 months I've came to appreciate the WORK of many within the bully community from their husbandry to their desire to Go Get Knowledge and Gain an understanding of Healthcare and improving the Genetics of what they are feeding. And We see many WAITING to breed rather then breeding cause they bleed sadly as we see from many with RU-vid channels passing themselves off as teacher's, preachers fkn thing's up whiney like Ho'sewives Sorry blue, I ramble cause it gets me spinning 😂 the lack of people's serious toward this GREAT breed. I guess as long as He likes them, but blue... Booooo 😂 Thanks for sharing SB thanks for the Work that you do We appreciate seeing you educate the people and Hope more come to learn the difference We appreciate you brother.
It's a combo of over 30 different families blended into a single family. The initial base was a combo of more than 15 different strains and from then more pure-almost pure & different strains were added and blended into a single one. Hicks (combo of 15 different, stuff like Hemphil ,wallace , Killen Sid, Ulseton, Corvino, clouse,Heinzl, De Cordoavas, ROss Red devil, Ruffian, Tacoma, Creel, Boomerang, Adams King fish & so on) , Sorrells(from Bert Red Jerry, Boots the Black Smith, Bull, Alexander(Boomerang), Battendorff, Kirkwood, Carver, Sarona, Patrick, Crabb(Heavy Maloney), Ratliff, Clemmons(Eli/Zebo), Hollands, Reddicks Herman, White Oak biters, Mayday, Honeybunch, Greenwoods ( Extra CorvinoBoots the Black Smith), Ozzie Stevens, Tatonka( Sorrells line bred Sailor , Raisin) . You can look up a pedigree on dogs like this to see more of current stuff. "HICKS LITTLE STRONG BODY" or even just Hicks She animal & so on.
Good show. What i dont get, is why boxing not illegal but dog fighting is? They are both trained for battle. They both will fight if they have too, so why isnt boxing, mma, illegal?
Thank you. Good question. One of the reasons is because people believe dogs are forced into it. They don't understand its an instinct they have just like race horses and hunting dogs. Humans have a choice to fight in boxing and mma but so do pit bulls. They choose to fight.
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746well,the fbi need to end the dog fighting laws. They had a raid in Indianapolis today with dog fighting and over twenty people arrested and dogs confiscated. People are getting locked up over bs.
