Thanks again for another great interview Mr Gray is a hell I’ve guy true dogman I enjoy listening to him it was some great times back then thanks again keep scratching
Wow, that felt like sitting at a table after a hog hunt and shooting the shit! Great interview brother! Salute to Mr.Grey and you schoolboy for putting these together…
3rd time I’ve listened to this interview. I hope you are able to do more with him. I could listen for days 😂. Seems to be a honest and very humble fella like yourself! I value that and really appreciate you taking the time to do these great videos. I don’t know much about the fella (respect him for being low key) and tried to find some of his dogs but only could a couple but fell short somewhat. I don’t have peds online anymore. Anyways great content as always!!
Glad you liked it and we'll definitely do more interviews. He's got a ton of history and experience. Good people and a good friend. Thank you for your support
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 I hate to ask and know it’s way off subject but recalled him saying his dad was into foxhounds. My dad and I have had them for 30+ years now and was wondering if he may want to briefly touch on that subject. And if not it’s ok. I always heard Ronald Boyles had them as well as James Edwards which is in my general area……
@KevinBrown-ur3cp His dad had hounds but I don't remember which ones. I'll try and remember to ask him. Boyles had Walkers I believe and he was involved in Field Trials
His dad had running walkers that would run whatever his strike dogs jumped he had strike dogs for each specific animal he hunted for. And as for him he's had almost every type of sporting dog there is but he treated them the same they all had to be proven and stay true to the breed
Richard, this is a great interview, I don't personally know this guy but a lot of the names he's mentioning I remember, I remember talking with Black Faul about dogs and chickens, really nice guy
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 - I got my first working terrier from the guy he mentioned, MacGivelry, don't remember how it's spelled and it was a great little dog
Back when we were doing five hundred to thousand dollar shows. No worries of rubs/cheating etc. Was just a lot of fun. Mr. Grey is right on all that. Were the magazines, big multi shows for big gate money. The dope dealers got into the game and drove the price of dogs up and cost to compete. The 70's into the 80's was to me the last golden age of our type dog shows. Where I live today. You cannot even take a bulldog with any type bites/scars from a kennel accident to a veterinarian.
What you're saying is true. More money makes people do funny things and not funny haha but funny wrong. Times are different even for regular dog owners that aren't PC.
Exactly the kind of shid that turn me off from the game. I’ve traveled alone and pucked a second from the spectators I was acquainted with backbin the late 70s early 80s. By the mid 90s I couldn’t do it anymore. There would be guys traveling with an entourage ready to jump you for taking their forfeit, because they were over the weight.
Had a daughter to Ch.Nemo stolen off another known dog man's yard. Don't care to name him. Bitch did everything right. Just didn't have much mouth. My mistake, should've left her with regular dog lovers not involved in the sport.@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746
Talking about the PHD. remarks. When we would go down to Florida. Visting with B. Davis and those local dog men. There was a veterinarian that tried to compete in some dog shows. Had a lot of knowledge but never won a show that I knew of. Tried to do too much with his scientific methods.
Is that old man don't want to sell you a dog he's not going to sell it to you🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿😂😂😂😂😂 and you won't get it from me or through me❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾 and that's just respect simple as that❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
That's like my old delmar smother a dog shakem off they feet in a nose hold saw this in an accident btw ... called my neighbor said I told ya I just saved your old red nose dog
These interviews are the kind you can enjoy over and over. I didn't think you could get this done Richard, good for both of you men, for shearing the good ol days....
Ronnie told me that when he bought the rest of Rick Sorrel yard, 7 broud bitches and Pete $40, 000 for the yard, he give $12,000 for Gr. Ch. Pistol Pete 6XW ROM and called me and sold him to me for $500, because we were friends.
Ch Iron Mike Tyson 4XW was out of the last littler Pete ever made. I condition Iron Mike for the 1st one with Bellion 3:57. Our handler was out of hand and we may not of won if not for the shady handling. Mike went on too win 4 and was stolen, getting ready for the 5th try.
What Ronnie wanted to do was keep the circle close and try not to let everyone know what we had. Until we had enough of them to try and try to keep it hush, hush. 3 different times when he had a yard full 150 too 200, we were going to the top of the SJD. BUT 3 times, bad luck hit the yard. Once a leaves broke and drowned all but a few and twice the opposition came and took my brother Ronnie away for a while. He would have, gotten a lot more recognition if these bad things had not happen. I am a close friend of the man in the interview. RIP Ronnie I miss you.
@@JaySmith-ce6zm I’ve herd nuttin but story’s bout Mr Ronnie growing up I got told a diff price but it probably equals bout dat my pops an uncle r da ones whip his preacher man hound
I disagree. Mainstream Hollywood is the last thing that these dogs need. It’s true that many old dogmen led some interesting lives , but ultimately their stories would be twisted to fit some producer’s script. The general public will never be understanding of what these dogs are. Nor will they be supportive or tolerant of the dogmen and dogwomen behind them. Especially in these times where everything is the opposite of what it should be. Being brought into the public limelight was the worst thing to happen to the dogs. Cool idea at first but then you think about all the ways that it would start to stink. I just imagined Tom Cruise playing a Earl Tudor as he trains a young 75 lb blue dog named Dibo by feeding him live kittens and telling him “Good boy!” a whole lot. I’m about to be sick now. Much love and respect from Louisiana
@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 I used to talk with Jim Stinson. His office had crazy dog memorabilia he collected over the years. I would try to look at everything while talking dogs with him and keeping my eyes on him lol. Damn that was 20yrs ago.
@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 his youngest son and I were roommates for a couple of years when I 1st moved to Texas. His dad loved talking about the dogs. Being a Eli man myself he loved my Nigerino dogs that looked like Art.
How you doing Mr. Garcia. I enjoy watching your show. I have been doing dogs for 25 years. I believe that some of the old timers did hang papers but the dogs they used were somehow related. Let me ask you a question. Why that Eli and honeybunch didn't have any siblings. Ain't that's strange. Two of the greatest producers of all time didn't have any siblings.
I'm doing well thank you. You're right on both counts. They did hang papers but most of them were related anyway. I don't know if they had siblings or not but there's no siblings listed. It's not unusual but not common either. They may or may not have had siblings. I appreciate your input and questions. I wish you all the best. Keep up the good work.
Gotta take some ibuprofen after this one, think it’s given me bulldog fever. Looks like they were doins some serious selective breeding. I would talk to Santiago for hours about the Stu Fowler dogs down in Mexico. He said they were dg, but a lot of them would walk away from a motionless hog even if it was still.
Love dex in hate it in the hate is when it's a long one I mite b wrong but it made it harder to find a vein in I'd use after the schooling also with dex in its post to start at 7 but when u get there in find out there's others so shit now it's 10 or later in u had yours ready for 7 but other then those 2 things I did use it
I tried that earlier, but it still won't play. Either way, I appreciate all the other content that you put out. One of the only dogman channels I keep up with. Have a nice day Mr. Garcia.
I was just curious. He seems like a very humble and soft spoken person. I've never fooled with American Pit Bull Terriers, but I've been around a lot of really good dogmen in other sports. I grew up rabbit, fox, coyote, and deer hunting with hounds. I hog hunt with curs, cur/hound mixes. I've field trialed foxhounds and I've been blessed to meet and make friends with some of God's best people. He must of had an honorable mentor. Good men and women in every sport.
@hbhkennel918 He's good people and a good friend. We've had some great times together. He's been involved with animals his whole life. His dad had hunting hounds. Along with the pit bulls he's very knowledgeable about horses too.
