Salute and flowers to Schoolly D, the 215 th, Unique Access Ent., Soren Baker, and the culture, those in the comments section, and your loved ones. This man's contribution to hip-hop cannot be understated, imo his name doesn't get the recognition it deserves in spite of it being spoken on by many prominent artists. Philly in general seems to have a problem with artists that don't quite last in spite of talent, namely Journalist, Ms Jade, E Ness, etc. All love from the 215th.
Salute To SchoollyD, he lit that fuse for me, that shit was the truth, the “hot sauce” out west when we heard psk..we went off in 84/85, king of ny sound track🔥 my “mama feel good” and the Supa Nigga”
Schoolly D. Mr. DDDDDDD......u used to be grandiose popular here in Amsterdam. Menn, I used to dream of your music when I was 16, and now as a 53-year-old grandpa, I still do. Believe it or not. I still can feel the I Don't Like Rock 'N' Roll bass in my body. Surely in my top 10 of the hardest beats. Great to see you still doing your thing. Thank you for the music and all the pleasures that came with it.⏺ Say it loud: "I love rap and I'm proud!" ❤
"Driving in my car down the avenue Towing on a J, sipping on some brew Turned around, see the fly young lady Pulled to the curb and parked my Mercedes Said, "Fly lady, now you're looking real nice Sweeter than honey, sugar, and spice" Told her my name was MC Schoolly D All about making that cash money"
" School's in" that he did for Tairrie B is one of my favorite songs!! The beat is insane! I wish someone would cover it because she didn't get enough attention for it. THAT song should have been her single. It would have changed the trajectory of her album sales and popularity.
Schoolly D is a true pioneer. The Original "Gangsta Rapper" that influenced Ice T to write '6 'N The Mornin' & Ice Cube to write 'The Boyz-N-The Hood". A true Hip-Hop & Philly Legend.

Born in the 80’s here didn’t know about Schoolly D until the 2000s when sampling (Kanye influence) started going crazy. That’s when I found out that Biggie had sampled Schoolly so I went to Kazaa or lime wire or Napster and downloaded his discography. Later on when RU-vid came out I would see him onstage with Will Smith in old school documentaries. Legend in hip hop for real and I hope he’s not being left out of the 50 years of hip hop celebrations
For sure, @Ric-E...Ricardo. That's #SorenBaker's favorite rapper, so he was thrilled #SchoollyD was in town for an interview. Check out our Schoolly D interview playlist, ru-vid.com/group/PL6wsc2g4x5NpYJygBmr9mTknw6bYkzEf4. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccessEnt.
@@UniqueAccessEnt I love your interviews, bro. You really are a student of the game and know your hip hop. And you got good chemistry with everybody. I definitely loved this one and the Ice T interviews. The two O. G. s Keep up the good work, my man. Much love
I am proud to say I walked round in 1985 at 14 years old with P.S.K pumping out the Ghetto Blaster I carried round the neighbourhood 👌..Superb interview love from Leeds England..How the Fuck did you get so Cool ❤
P S K WE MAKIN THAT GREEN.......people always say what the hell does that mean. I wore that track out. The Beat was SICK and for years people kept saying WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I loved the skit. As soon as Duke sat down I remembered the scene. Bill Duke is truly one of Greats Of All Time.
"P-H-I- L-L-Y"...Philly Philly....That's Where We From !!!!!"... "Schoolly D" will always be the father of Gangasta Rap ... Eazy E may have of gave it a face....Ice Cube might of gave it a voice. Ice - T may have put Gangsta Rap on prime time TV. But Schoolly fathered the whole genre....you gotta give it to him ! 🎧🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤
I was always saying Lady B brought hiphop to Philly on WHAT an AM station she played Schoolly's records crazy he made Philly proud good to see him healthy doing his thing 🎤🎧🥁🎹💾💽📀💿💪🏆🎵🎶
I listened to Lady B on WHAT and WKDU. She came on after Mary Mason on Saturday morning on WHAT. I remember her single too. She didn’t bring hip hop to Philly. She pioneered bringing hip hop to Philly radio. As a kid in the 70’s I followed my old heads that DJed. I remember jams in the park with MC’s and dancing and the gangs in Philly just like they were doing in New York. Now we are learning that other boroughs were doing the same thing at the same time and not just the Bronx. and other cities around the country were doing the same thing. Hip Hop was everywhere coming out the black power movement, James Brown, last poets, Curtis Mayfield and Soul Train. New York just happened to be the epicenter
Philly's own know this brother personally mailed me records to my home was a boss with the Schoolly D chain much respect good to see the man who started Gangsta Rap still going strong 💪💪💪💪🎤🎧🥁🪘🎹💾💽📀💿
"Am I black enough...." is a great album. I was a 13 year old skateboarder in Copenhagen when I heard this the first time in the 80's. Wow! it blew me away, even though I didn't understand all the lyrics. It's still one my favorites.
Wow, Schoolly D is the core. Also, there is a big respect to code money for the raw dope beats and cuts. He was also a big part of Schoolly D. What happened to Schooly's arm? He often came across that he was a person that was shooting up. Ha ha ha like Same White ..... got him strung out on cane track. Etc. Smoke some kill album was very very dope. So I was thinking maybe his arm got warm out from all the shooting up through his veins. But he promoted in his rhymes anyway hence why I noticed his arm. But hey, the fact that he was also always so high, it contributed to the wild aspects. First gen legends him and Code.
