I got bullied almost every day for being chubby, sometimes cried before school. My father gave me strength with his worlds to get past the tears and I feel now It taught me resilience. I don’t feel like a victim and know that the kids that bullied me are the real ones that were un happy individuals and probably still are today.

This epidemic effects young people, particularly young men, very disproportionately though. They always have but the amount of men committing suicide has increased more than the amount of women committing suicide. It's only going to get worse with social media no one knows how to act around people anymore and more and more young men are becoming isolated which is not a good thing.

@@erincoco612I was quiet from the 6th-10th grade and I was in a good home. I just had social anxiety that I finally worked my way out of during my Junior year. It was definitely a personal thing for me. Some quiet people are just built like that, I’m just glad I grew out of it.

It's not much different from kids who grew up dealing with abusive parents. Kids who were beaten by their parents tend to have those psychological scars well into adulthood. Thank you for sharing. So true. Too many people these days are looking to find a reason why someone acted in a horrific manner. Often times we hear the same story, "He was a loner, bullied, and was sort of different." That all may be true, but we can't assume that being bullied equates to mass shootings, assassination attempts, etc. There are lots of people who have difficult, abusive, etc, backgrounds and do NOT do what this dude did. I worked in law enforcement for 26 years and got tired of hearing, "But sir, I grew up in the hood, that's why I gang bang..." My response, "There are way more kids growing up in the same hood and NOT gang banging, that's an excuse!" Again, thanks for sharing and God bless.

Exactly! I was bullied almost every day growing up. I never ate lunch in Jr High and High school. I was the kid hiding out in the library or outside. As an adult who has raised a family and has grandchildren, I still get bullied at work. There are always those that have to pick on others. People can be mean and cruel, but that is no excuse to ever k**l others. I've never once thought about doing harm to others. Bullying sucks, but shouldn't be used as an excuse for horrendous behavior and actions!

I was thinking about this also. I got bullied in school by kids and teachers because I was little. Yes, some of the stuff still haunts me but I never thought about acting out like this or any other way destructive.

I went to 2 separate Christian schools. I saw bullying by students and teachers. Thankfully, I grew up and realized that just because someone goes to a Christian organization, it doesn't make them a Born again believer in Jesus Christ. Thankfully, He is my Savior, and He's let forgiveness reign.
