Basic health and anatomy classes are what kids need to learn about, and even those subjects are only worth teaching just prior to the onset of puberty to prepare and educate children about what they'll be going through and what kind of changes to expect. This is only worth teaching to older adolescents 10-12 because it isn't easy for younger children to analyze & digest this type of information for themselves yet. It's troubling that some types of adults want to expose children to all kinds of sexualized content - which is confusing and not useful. In fact most everything they want to bring into classrooms is disturbing misinformation about biology and human behaviors. So why do these creepy adults want to be face to face with the youngest children talking to them about very private issues and topics they don't even need to think about until high school or college? Because they want an audience that is too immature and undeveloped to understand or question the things being put in front of them. Or because they have a desire to have inappropriate contact with kids. Or both.

I think in many cases it is probably 'captured' rather than supported out of 'conviction'. Stonewall apparently rate companies and institutions on their LGBTQ+ attitudes and then they list them on a website. To my mind that's a calculated form of coercion and intimidation because it suggests that if your company/institution isn't on the list, you're 'phobic'. There are enough virtue signallers and activists out there to cause these establishments some genuine difficulties.

Look up the Bad Law Project (BLP) - it does a good job of explaining how this has come about. In brief - and from memory! - it's because there has been precious little official guidance and materials provided by the Dept of Education when it comes to PSHE lessons. Stonewall and others have crept into that gap by creating 'educational' materials, some of which are so near the mark that the BLP was in the process of having them analysed by the RSPCC as they believed it could amount to child abuse. This same organisation was working with parents whose family lives had been severely affected by the impact of these lessons on their children. The last I heard, the BLP was issuing a lawsuit against the government. At the start of the academic year I remember reading articles in which schools were frustrated because the guidance they needed had not been given -- again. I have wondered if the delay was caused because of this lawsuit and the government's need to re-think their position.

Neither laws nor guidance should be applied retrospectively. Just imagine your fine for a motoring offense was 30 pound, which you pay on arrival of the letter, and two weeks later they change the law to make it 60 pound, would you accept another penalty notice to pay the "outstanding" 30 pounds?

I think it may also be a way of getting attention. At the age of 16, my niece, who is on the autistic spectrum and has other issues - suddenly decided she was 'trans' and took her new status off to Facebook where, worryingly, she was give so much kudos. She was hailed as courageous, wonderful, amazing, an example to all ......and so on. Of course, she was no more trans than Daniel Craig, but for a few weeks she basked in this attention. No one really knows why she had this flip and at home her family just ignored it until it went away. However, having gained so much attention and support she could quite easily have backed herself into a corner and felt forced to continue with the lie. Had she been at school it would have been worse because teachers would have affirmed her as a boy and thus made it all the more 'official'. As it was, her autism gave her a way to save face as it was becoming known that this condition can lead girls to mistake their worldview and emotions as being more typical of males than females. Still, it shows that there are various reasons for kids saying that they're trans, and various reasons why affirming them immediately is a mistake.
