Schrade SCHF 37 Modifications 

Yeah i took the coating off of mine as well. Idk why they put that stuff on there. Yeah its 1095 & itll rust if in wet environments if your careless but i live 20 min from the ocean & i have no issue w/ my blades rusting. I have antique swords, repro swords, machetes & knives all made of HC steel. None of them rust on me. Unless your in constant rain & seaspray you shouldnt have many issues.

Hey skip! Nice job you did! I don't have a "workshop" myself but would you recommend a dremel tool to take off the factory finish and give the spine a sharp edge for striking a ferro rod? Maybe if that's how you did your upgrades you can show us too? :)

I just did this to mine, but when I put the handle scales back on, one of the screws broke...now I think I'm going to put some Bull horn handles on it
