Excepcional la interpretación del barítono Barry McDaniel de este bellísimo Lied de Schubert. Independientemente de su hermosa, homogenea, ductil y muy extensa voz, Mc Daniel afronta este Lied desde la serenidad y la esperanza sin descuidar la importancia de saber imprimir con suma delicadeza el carácter nostálgico y doliente que impregna la obra, no sólo la vocal, del gran maestro romántico.
I am happy that you enjoyed this song. McDaniel is a wonderful lied singer, especially in this kind of "atmospheric" songs. Do check out also "An den Mond in einer Herbstnacht" - a rare song, superbly sung, and one of my favorites. McDaniel made hardly any commercial lied recordings, but he recorded hundreds of songs for radio stations. It would not be too difficult to revive them, so let's hope that some label will be wise enough to do so.
