I never grow tired of listening to this hauntingly beautiful piece. But it wasn't until I decided I wanted to try to learn to play it, thinking it seemed an easy piece to sight read, that I realized how difficult it really is. Your performance here is one of the best I have heard: a perfect balance of delicacy, fire, the moments of torment in the left hand trills, all the while bringing out all of the melodies with crystal clarity. I had not known about Schubert's failing health when he wrote (improvised) this piece; on this performance I believe I can feel his longings, regrets perhaps, and ultimate sense of resolution and peace. Thank you for this gift.
Your tutorials are brilliant and really appreciated. This was a nice touch though, blindfolded, which I think brings out the clarity of your playing. Fantastic Pianist. Also admire your bravery including the outtakes at the end.
