@nace888 Yes, the track is very flexible. It has a piece of flexible plastic with 3 brass rods (top and two sides) that will hold the shape. They made "curves" and "straight" track but there really isn't any difference between them and you can bend the curves straight or make the straights into curves. A minimum radius circle is 12 pieces of track (30 degrees per track) but you can make a circle with any amount of track more than 12.

How fun! Love this Disney Monorail setup. Beautiful!!! Makes me very jealous. I never had the experience and joy of setting mine up. I had 6 of my monorail trains, 3 & 4 car (mint in box) and many parts were stolen. I have a few items left. Thanks

@nace888 I would think someone with good modeling skill could form a body around the Schuco frames. I have never been a big fan of the new toy monorails from the Disney Theme Parks. The way the beamway works (being rigid and trapezoidal beam ), the lack of control speed control, and I think the size is too big from an interesting layout. The Schuco trains are incredibly durable the track system is flexible. I which there was a modern equivalent.

Where did you get all these Monorails? Are they the original Disneyland ones?

@nace888 I'm not sure if I understand your question. The Schuco monorails are roughly HO scale whereas the much newer Mark VI toy monorails for sale by Disney are closer to O scale (or roughly twice as big (linearly). So that certainly would not work. Is that what you are asking or did you have something else in mind?

This is great! How are you blocking the monorails to hold until the next track section is open?

@KGOnTech So you basically bend the tracks to where they go? Or they have more options track wise? I've wanted a Mark VI toy, but planned on buying plenty of them (when I get the chance) and make them into 6 car trains. I also planned to repaint their stripes, and make custom wood tracks for them... There's more options when you do stuff yourself, now if only I could get my hands on a train. I do think the MkVI toys are somewhat fat though, lol.

@KGOnTech I was thinking more along the lines of could these work with a Mark VI type style, like making your own Mark VI to fit... I understand the new toys are both too big and not electric, but you could always make your own Mark VI model for this, couldn't you?

Could this be done with retrofitted monorails to look like the Mark VI trains?
