So on the speech, the software allows you to play an audio file of your choosing when certain conditions are met, a lot like IFTTT. So I played around with various sound clips, and edited them in audacity to get them just right. Timing is also key. A lot of aspects of the kit are geared around you doing most of the work yourself, by design. With this route, you could change or update the narrations as they evolve through the years.
Michael Andrews of Monorail Silver had a "kit" you could buy. Basically all the brains of the train have been stripped out and replaced with a superior board. A lot of soldering, drimmeling, and tinkering with the software options, but definitely worth it if you are a fan. Unfortunately the kits are no longer available at the time of this reply.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for your comment. In addition to the comment below, there is a track "mod" as well. There are neodymium magnets embedded in the monorail beams so that the new PCB can in essence, count the magnets, to know where it's at. From there, it's a lot like IFTTT (if this then that) in order to get the appropriate resort announcements etc. Michael also baked in the ability for the trains to "see" each other by allowing them to read each other's data output, so that won't crash into one another. Here's a quote from an earlier reply I made that may answer your question. "Michael Andrews of Monorail Silver had a "kit" you could buy.
