Thing is, Messi already has generational wealth - he's always been known as a Family man - which would he rather? Go to Saudi, get 1.6 BILLION (mental lmao) but potentially have issues with his wife/kids in school / lifestyle. Or, go to America, play with his old friends (Busquets, Alba, Suarez etc), live in a far better country / to what he's normally used to, and have a far better life for his family and kids. But also getting a great paycheque, potentially shares to buy/create a club in the league, and furthering his global brand? Easy decision for me in his shoes.

Messi just went grocery shopping yesterday in Miami . He can live a normal life in USA simply because the beautiful game isn’t as popular here so his face isn’t that well recognized

MLS football is a joke . He did not turn down Saudi money as he took money to be country’s brand ambassador . He wanted a place where his family can live freely . kind of double standard that he doesn’t want to live in country that he is marketing ! As a football enthusiast who respected Messi it is sad that he has to play this school level football in a country that doesn’t even acknowledge the name football for the game ! Pains to watch even the the highlights of such poor standard game . That is truth ! It might be a glitzy American reality show with celebs for country with no football literacy , but not quality football for real football lovers!

If some one told me when i was a kid posting classico videos on facebook and elementary girls going why you in love with this guy so much to now ahh i gotta tell you football(soccer) has grown alot here , people barely played it in 2000s we had to illegally stream most games in foreign languages cuz english channels didnt even bother , there was no DAZN and no channel here playing la liga games . Everyone here only knew the World cup .
