Robert Schumann - Piano Concerto A minor, op.54 Chopin: Transcription from Sonata for Cello and Piano - 3rd mov. Gulbenkian Orchestra; Hannu Lintu; Daniil Trifonov 20/01/2018 - Gulbenkian Foudation - Lisbon
Daniil has the most graceful, elegant hands an artist could have. I love to watch him play as well as the gorgeous music he produces with them. Bravo Daniil !!!!!
Breathtaking beautyful Interpretation of Schumann ! Enjoy immen sly just aswell Daniil 's Smile and beaming Face at the end. He is not only a captivating Genius, he also has an aimable winning and honest Personality !❤ The Encore a delightful additional Treat ! ❤
at 31:05 the fugue-like counterpoint passages, it's Bach, living fully inside Schumann. at 31:55 the beautiful and dramatic falling 5ths sequence, its Trifonov, completely and passionately inside Bach and Schumann breathing it out to us all
Trifonov superb as always. What about the conductor and orchestra! Brilliant interpretation to match the piano-genius of Trifonov. Inner voices in the orchestral score that I've never heard quite so beautifully articulated.

Classical music is wondrous. Personally I prefer Khatia Buniatishvilli's version of this but this was really great. Must say this man's Rach 3 is jaw dropping.
Thank you for your response. I thought the oboe playing was particularly good. That's a first-rate orchestra. Better than the Boston Symphony, where I live.@@elisabethbaumer-sn8go
The piece has been very over-inflated. It’s not Rach. This theatricality is underlined by the old fashioned concert dress. Trifonov would never appear in a tailcoat unless forced.
The constant and very loud coughing was unbearable and the inappropriate clapping in between movements was the cherry on top. Daniil did an amazing job (as did the rest of the orchestra), but unfortunately I couldn't make it past the second movement.
In Schumann’s time clapping between movements and even preluding by the pianist in between movements was common practice. People have become quite intolerant.
The worst schumann interpretation that i ever heard. Orchestra and Trifonov in this concerto: linear sound, not delicated in Eusebius and very agressive in Florestan contrasts..(The Schumann basics). For me its not equilibrated at all.
Totalmente de acuerdo con usted. Y la cadencia, horrorosa. ¡Qué cosas más raras hace! Este hombre da la impresión de estar desquiciado. Pero, inexplicablemente, por lo visto gusta a muchos.
