Forgot to list the lift ticket prices. Full day, core season lift tickets at the window are $135 for adults and $75 for Juniors. You save about ten percent purchasing online.
I had a Blue Beetle for almost two decades. There are some positives to the growth, but I miss the old days. Still feels like a hidden gem to many from places like Colorado and California.
Thank you for your coverage on Schweitzer. Wife and I are planning to go there last week of March. Worried a bit about not enough snow but we are both beginners and plan to take it slow and enjoy. Hoping to get the full experience. Thanks once again for a glimpse into what we will get.
Schweitzer was one of the first resorts to allow snowboarding in the 1980s. I went there in 1984 with my wooden Burton Performer which had 3 metal fins mounted in the bottom for a kind of rudimentary steering control on groomers. I caught a lot of good-natured ribbing from the locals. Good times and good people. I’ve not aged well at all since then with a receding hairline and cirkey lower back, but Mt Schweitzer looks better than ever and a 1984 Burton Performer sells on eBay for somewhere around $3k!
Sun Valley 2 Weeks, Schweitzer last weekend. Love both your videos on them. Saw you only have 200 or so subs. Too good! You got 1 more my friend. Can't wait until it's 200k
At Schweitzer now and i keep watching the video for your run recommendations. Tried about 75% yesterday and they were awesome. Thanks for such a great review of everything.
@bluebirdski Really enjoyed the KMacks and several of Chute runs. Will hopefully try Siberia, Gladeiator, and Stiles run today. The fresh powder yesterday was amazing. Staying in trees during cloudy/low viz was/is great advice
@@kennethdong yeah, K-Macs is great. Push yourself to go far left on Siberia. It is a short run, but is a nice powder stash. I'm hitting Silver Mtn today, and hope to have a Big Sky review out soon.
This is just what I was looking for! Thanks! I'm going to be there the next couple days if you'd like to take some turns (tree runs are my favorite, too)
Nice video! I was surprised to see that you only had 200+ subscribers. So I shared your channel with our Schweitzer Homeschool Ski Group (250 students) Thanks for the video. Hope you make it up to 500 subscribers!
I've been coming to Schweitzer the last two years and it is a fantastic ski hill. Great trails, conditions and I like the village layout. Will be back in a couple weeks.
If you want any run suggestions let me know. I'll come up and show you around if I'm skiing. I'm still up there a lot, but hope to be skiing a lot of new hills this year.
I'd stay on the Mountain. There's enough going on to have some fun, but most things shut down at about ten o'clock. Sandpoint can be fun too. There's plenty of bars and restaurants for a small town. If you need any specifics let me know.
Great video - I’m heading there with my family in February. We are staying in an Airbnb in Ponderay and am wondering if it’s best to take the bus up from the red barn or drive up each day. We are renting an suv in Spokane.
Most people enjoy taking the bus. I like the freedom of having my car. They've improved the mountain parking lot this year... The prime parking can be pricey, but there's enough free parking. Get a frozen full size pot pie at Pie Hut. I didn't have a good pic of one in the video, but they're pretty awesome. Let me know if you have any other questions. Have fun!
If the tickets aren't sold out Taps throws a solid New Year's party. Anything skiers left of Kaniksu on the north bowl. There's about three tree routes there that get deep.
Great review. Don't think I'll make it to Schweitzer but I am really excited to come check out Silver MTN. And 49° North in February. Who knows, maybe you persuaded me to check this out too. 😅
49 is a great little resort and the condola and village at Silver are terrific. Yeah, Schweiter has blown up and changed but is still the best skiing around here. Don't forget Lookout Pass... Best snow around. skilookout.com/ I'm considering making reviews of all the smaller inland northwest resorts. Have fun!
@@bluebirdski awesome! Thanks 👍. Coming from PA and I have never really been out that way. Excited to try somewhere out West other than Utah and Colorado. I am also planning on 3 days at Big White in BC while I am there ....I am a Indy Pass guy. Looks like you're getting a lot of snow in the forecast and winter is finally turning on! Have a wonderful day!
That's awesome. I'm considering the Indy pass next year. If you like smaller resorts Mt Spokane can be fun. I haven't been to white. I hear there's good food there. I know that's a weird plus, but that's the scuttlebutt. Check out Ainsworth hot springs and stay at the Hume in Nelson.
@@MuttonChops24 yeah, it is confusing. I'm hoping they add more parking at the bottom of creekside express. I added a link with parking specifics below for people to reference. www.schweitzer.com/plan/shuttle-and-parking/
Thanks, the sweater is a hit...haha. Im a nurse considering a job in Spokane. Im a solid moderate with some conservative views and am looking for a better dating population/ much less liberal then my home of San Francisco! But I have tied at Sqauw Valley 35-70 days a season x 20 years so I LOVE to ski!...I like difficult lines around rocks, trees gullies and steep! Do you think Schweitzer would be a good mountain for me? and Spokan a good place to call home?
Spokane is a lovely jumping off point, but is becoming more liberal. I'd suggest finding your way to Idaho. I'm close with someone who moved to Post Falls and likes the change. She sounds similar to you.
Schweitzer is terrific for an inland NW resort, but has a low elevation. I just got back from a trip to Colorado and Utah, and it doesn't really compare well. I've never skied Squaw. By the way, you'd love Coeur D'alane, but it is getting pricey.
They added a new high speed lift for a run to learn on and have ski instructors. It is a better resort for intermediate skiers and their black diamond runs would be intermediate on many mountains. There are worse mountains to learn on, but it isn't ideal for the beginner.
