I did this exact same walk (minus the detour!) with my brother and his wife last August. It's definitely an amazing place to hike and you do it justice! On my own I've twice done the hike from Schynige Platte all the way to First and I doubt if there's a better hike anywhere else in the world. It's hard though, especially the last steep climb up to Faulhorn, but definitely worth it.

@@AllanKunda-mp5xs I've done the trail to the Faulhorn twice, but I started in Grindelwald and ended at Schynige Platte. It's about 16k and takes all day. You can see all the details in this post: swissfamilyfun.com/faulhorn/

Lovely video Tanya (I watched it again today :) ). Schynige Platte is beautiful, unfortunately, we couldn't hike and enjoy the views as you it's because my kids are still young (3 and 5 years old). I have been reading your blogs and articles from the last couple of years, you have done amazing work on your website, it's not an easy task and I really want to applause your work. Good luck with your youtube channel now. Your work has inspired me and I have started my channel as well, I upload travel videos about my kids and also my hiking adventures. Not good as yours but it's OK. Thank you so much for sharing useful information and lovely videos with us. :) I used your tips and travel info to plan my Swiss trip.

Good luck with your channel! I'll check it out. I'm still learning too. Making videos is difficult, especially on the go with a family when you can't always focus on the filming. But it's a nice way to preserve memories. I wish I had started making videos when my kids were smaller so i had those memories too.
